Per The Charlotte Observer: The plastic wrap is covered in moisture while the meal cooks, and because water does not exceed 100C at 1 atm, the plastic wrap cannot get any hotter than 100C.
I actually enjoy the new Banquet Mega Meals, but this one was absolutely gross and flavorless. I haven't have a Mega Meal in weeks because I ate myself sick of them. The spicy mac and cheese one is my favorite.
woah, Momma! 170% of my doctor's RDA for sodium?! jeez, Louise! I'm amazed that Banquet managed to make their faux Salisbury Steak and potatoes even _worse_ than the previous version you tried! great review, man!
@MarkisTG that's not how the body works lol. but have fun, you might think you're fine, but then you'll get older and it'll all catch up to you at once and you'll regret being a turdsack who thinks they're invincible
Keep in mind, back in the past, salt was the only viable way to conserve meat. And they didn't have all those modern day health issue. Excess salt is evacuated by the kidney
@@machintrucGaming keep in mind in the past people kept more active, and more hydrated, allowing them to flush excess salt easier. most people opt for a sugar filled drink containing bits of sodium rather than a glass of water more often than ever before.
I love these videos because all the stuff Larry thinks is garbage isn't actually bad, most of them are good, and some are great! My tastebuds aren't dead, and I'm not afraid to die so long as I ate good food while I was kickin! Keep on recommending me future medical issues!
I havent had a tv dinner in many years .But as a kid in the 70`s my grandma made these all the time .She worked all day came home and popped them in the oven. Salisbury steak was always my favorite .I wonder how much the ingredients have changed over the years . Grandma died young at 53 could of been those years tv dinners , Belair cigs and the nightly 6pack of Schlitz malt liquor.
Im old school,i miss the the tv dinners, that were all metal, and you had to cook em in the oven, they tasted so much better especially the old swanson dinners, informative video as always, thanks brother have a good one
I found that if you put the gravy over the mashed potatoes they taste better. Also, if you stir the gravy while the dinner is resting you have more gravy.
Love visiting this channel before i cook food or go shopping, Yeah i agree low quality mashed potato's i have yet to see a frozen dinner that does it right.
My dad had bought me Banquet MEGA Meal, the Boneless fried chicken one. It's pretty good. The TVP really doesn't bother me because as long the food taste good, I'm worth eating it.
Are you telling us...those are NOT your pretty finger nails Larry??? Hey I'm glad you've made your videos a family activity...keep up the awesome videos...PS: The SODIUM in that meal... YIKES!
as with anything that's Not Good For You, an occasional ill meal isn't too bad but, gosh, if you're gonna fall off the sodium-and-fat wagon, there are SO MANY BETTER WAYS to do that, which would taste way better and probably still BE way better for you than this nasty, hot mess.
Besides how garbage it is in general??? Also, the biggest reason for removing isn't just sodium and fat. Sat fat was never the problem and its just the sugar industry crap and its a myth, case in point Ketosis diet. Sodium isn't a problem unless you are just chugging it so fast that amount and you have enough liquid. Sodium causing heart problems is BS, you get a TEMP heart rate increase then it goes back to normal. The biggest problem is this, your body can only use ONE source of energy (carbs/sugar or fat), if you put that much carbs and not multi-marathon to use it all, then it goes into and turn into fat and store it with insulin. this isn't a prob for most if you don't eat too much of it, but the BIG problem is when you use BOTH carbs and fat. Now you have this HUGE amount of carb that doesn't get used and turned into fat and the FAT FROM THE FOOD then also turns into fat storage so double the fat. The best way to keep healthy and not be fat is to just eat, ironically, fat since then your body doesn't need to use insulin to store the fat and your body just run on fat, thus removing your unused fat as fuel source.
Fat isn't that bad. Sodium and sugar are the ones killing half America. If you didn't know the government made an unprecedented campaign to make fat look bad on all kinds of ads so people feel more comfortable about carbs and sugars then you know it now. An adult should intake at least 110 grams of fat every single day. Most people don't even reach 60 grams, specially those who skip breakfast.
Wow. Being a sodium sensitive person with blood pressure issues this meal would send me to hospital with blood pressure of 200/100 the least ( believe me, been there done that with other stuff)
I'm already sold on your recipe for salisbury steak Larry, and also the sailsbury steak sandwich or what i call sammich, or what you call the truck stopper. I can fix your 2 salisbury recipes for less cost than the frozen ones if you figure in portion weights. Don't want to be rude , but i already know your recipes are better, especially after 15 seconds into the video you gave it a 3.5 out of 10, with the mashed potatoes being the best part.
oh, it's even worse if you have a 1,500mg/day limit, as I do. see, that's more than 170% of MY RDI. there's no way in Hell I would even consider eating this hot mess. If I'm going to break my sodium bank, I'm going to do it with my own cooking, which is 100% guaranteed to be both more delicious and more wholesome than this mess.
The sausbury steak family size banquet meals and the turkey family size banquet meals are my favorite with homemade mashed potatoes and either sweet peas or pork n beans. Either one is good on white bread . Bread, gravy , turkey, repeat.
Been waiting for you to try these too should try the chicken and mac and cheese Nd the bbq chicken ribs and potato one and these meals are only 1.22$ at my Walmart and that's a good deal and they are pretty good
When i was younger i use to always eat Microwave meals ... Thank God for TheWolfePit and me actually caring about what goes in my body as im getting older because U will never catch me eating this crap now
I always "doctor up" TV dinners. Smidge of salt, pepper, and butter on the potatoes or veggie. Smidge of salt and cheese on the mac and cheese. Smidge of salt and brown sugar on those horrid apples. Of course, a little salt and pepper on "french fries". Parmesan on pizza. We hardly eat them, but when we do, 10 seconds of doctoring while your waiting for it to cool is well worth it!
are you fucking insane? you're taking frozen meals chalked full of salt, and adding additional salt to them 3 more times? enjoy your heart attack, because you aren't living past 60.
I support your Channel..because..we need to see our options in fast/frozen/crap food.. I don't eat much of those, but you rock your World....amen and burp.
I have high blood pressure so I’m limited to 600-800mg of sodium per day, so that’s 5-6 DAYS worth of sodium for me. I can’t even imagine how many diuretics I’d have to take to get rid of that extra water constricting my heart. It’s no wonder heart disease and stroke are the number one and two causes of death for Americans and limiting sodium reduces risk of both.
