- D'you remember in the ballpark of the beat u were doing cause i remember in the chorus sort of.. - For what, show me what you were playing and I'll... - I dunno, cause that's the rhythm of it is what I was wondering about .. - When was it? - Cause I, cause I don't remember what it, what it... - It was kind of early? - it was kind of early in what we did? - Early today you mean? - Huh? - Before What got here? - Yeah.. - OK.. - ...Is that what you were talking about? - Yeah.. - And, and uh... - Hit me another string John... - What huh? *Creates a masterpiece*

Thanks for that, not that easy to make out sometimes. He's saying "Watt" though, meaning Mike Watt, the great bass player.

@@me_angelobut he’s still playing and making new music to this day..so although he’s been in the game for awhile, he’s still modern. If he had quit and never made music after 1998, then I’d agree he wouldn’t be modern

Actually the heroin helped. He just got too far gone. Happens to us all that have dabbled. I still think his best writing ever was from 89-93. I actually blame crack more than heroin for his downfall.

John said his technique suffered from his years of drug use which is why the riffs on californication are simple however i agree it didnt affect his expression.

He was definitely pretty low on chops and technique here... and when they wrote the Californication album. If you watch earlier shows from when he first rejoined the RHCP, in songs like If You Have To Ask he’s playing solos that sound like the intro to Scar Tissue etc, lol

People can debate forever and a day about every individual that plays an instrument or sings about everything under the sun but, reguardless of who would of, could of, should of, been whatever you choose to talk about, the fact is, John is a musician who holds a guitar and makes beautiful music, and song ideas are incredible. Everyone here should be here for the music, not what everyone is writing about it.

John is no different than any other person I know who struggles with life during crisis. We just happened to have front row seats to his fall from grace and his resurrection. Fortunately he had good friends like Flea and Bob Forrest who got him to rehab; only after his teeth had rotted out and the pus-laden gangrenous sores that covered his arms put him as risk of septicemia. His guitar art is special. I think is would have been a great Beatle. In many ways he is.

This is truly just an awe-inspiring inspiration just to watch this video, and the ever-present camaraderie between these musicians is astounding. What truly shines through and absolutely makes this track beautiful, is John Frusciante’s melody, and his ability to create such masterful melodies and segues throughout the music in which he has made. His sense of melody and arrangement is staggeringly beautiful and utterly brilliant to me. What he has accomplished over the years is simply amazing, I am so glad he rediscovered himself and rejoined the RHCPers in the late 90’s and also now in 2022!, can’t wait to hear the new material that the RHCPers come out with!
