We call "Seksek" in Turkish. Actually Sek-mek is a verb which means Bounce/Hop. In literal translation, we say like Hophop :)

What you said about Barish Mancho is so true that he was like an uncle/father/big brother figure to us. And actually we used to call him Brother Barış, because he had a show in 90s for kids called “Adam Olacak Çocuk” like in the idiom “whiz kid”. In his show he taught many many things to kids and he was like an idol for that generation. I hope you care to watch the show. Btw I love your videos, sometimes I find my self binge watching them :) So keep posting 🙌🏼☺️

We were playing same game when were young. I feel lucky to be born in years when there was no internet. When I was a kid, we used to play outside with all the children of the neighborhood. We had a more social life than today's children.

The clip had been taken in his own house where he lived until his life's end in 1999. He was prolonged to become the new president of Turkey. RIP OUR BARIS MANCO ! Great Soul

This time my request would be "iki yabanci" - 2 stranger from Sebnem Ferah and Teoman. İts a duet song. A nice song to listen. Teoman is not actively sing anymore but from late 90's to 2015s he gave tremendeous performances. İ hope you enjoy. İki yabanci could be your first song from him.

Barış Manço iş really a genius. İ am from Russia. Here Turkish rock is not very popular. When İ occasionally heard Barış Manço, İ fell in love immediately. Began to study Turkish. His lyrics are great.

Hi Rob, thank you for bringing us good music each and every week. It became a joy for me to follow your videos and listen to Anatolian rock after decades again (yes I'm an old guy :p). I'd be very happy if you could review the following two songs. They are rich and represent the soul of the age. I think you'll find them remarkable. 1. Fikret Kizilok / Ay Batti (1974) - it's a fire as a great sample of funk with an impressing keyboard. Kizilok is a great folk singer, songwriter with political aspects, a strong vocal is known for recording his albums with naked voice but this piece is instrumental. 2. Mustafa Özkent - (from the album: Genclik ile el ele) / Uskudara Giderken (1973) - This album has been recorded live in a half-day and forgotten for decades. It's released again in the 2010s by a UK publisher and attracted music lovers attention. Actually, it's an old Istanbul folk song that Boney M used in their song Rasputin.

Check Hayko Cepkin - Yeni Bir Gun. This is a Baris Manco song but like 10 years ago Hayko made a cover with Baris Manco's band Kurtalan Express. Definitely check it out you won't regret man! :) ps: dont listen video clip verison it is the short version and no good

We called "Seksek" in Turkish. I believe many Turkish followers gave the answer already but I wish to say a little hi to you! You and your channel are so great my friend. I am so glad to find you! As being a classical musician, through your videos, I got back to my childhood, where my all musical background has shaped with these jewels. And it is so special that, these songs still get respect. İf you liked the Anatolian rock music, you should check the Australian group King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. They made an Anatolian Rock albüm. Name is "Flying Microtonal Banana" They used and mixed our folk songs and rock music as same as Barış Manço

According to Savaş Manço (Barış Manço's brother who passed away May 2020) "Kol Düğmeleri" was written for a girl named "Semra" whom Barış Manço was engaged to, in 1962. When Barış Manço had to go to Belgium for his studies; they had to break up even though they were so much in love. A pair of cufflinks (Kol Düğmeleri) were a gift from Semra to Barış Manço just before they break up.

So Bobk, my recommendation for you to react is Omar Khorshid - Raks el Fadaa from 1974 after listening several of your reactions. I am Turkish but this is not a Turkish song. Omar Khorshid is an Egyptian guitar virtuoso. Last, please do not try to react to it in the first two minutes because you should enjoy your speechlessness. Its very nice of you to love Turkish songs, but some of the songs you have been adviced were more "anatolian folk like" songs and slow ones.I guess you are more of a rock person so most of them are not the best examples for you to criticise.There are much better "Rock" examples around in Turkish.I personally know Barış Manço very well, he was the most intelligent, kind and loved person in Turkey, absolutely No:1 without a doubt.He was very famous in Japan too back in the days.For this song, its one of the best songs of Barış Manço and this is a newly recorded clip(1980s) of the song(originally 1960s).And the song was written after a real event(a love story of himself after a break up of his fiancee). You need to understand the native Turkish language to have the full taste of the songs because the real effect of them is when you listen in Turkish.Words multiply the feelings 100x. And the game you mentioned is known as "Seksek" in Turkish, means "Jump Jump" likely.Take care bro, keep on doing the great work...
