That translation going on in the background is wrong. “Dönence” means “tropic” like in “tropic of Capricorn”. He does not say “i know i’m back”, he says “i know, it’s tropic”. Like the turning of events, change in the circle.

I believed that Barış Manço was going back to another time period because he was a musician who always developed contemporary and constructive ideas. He filmed many documentaries to promote our country. A competition program for children has been made for the first time in Turkey by him self. He wasn't just a musician. The songs he wrote and the lyrics he wrote are unique.

You know what, my parents are at their early 70s, I am 35 and my daughter is 4 year old. Three different generation and all we all have some favorite songs from him. He had some tv shows back in late 80s - early 90s. The show was starting with a program for kids, and then another for adults. He was kind of exceptional for Turkish culture with long hairs and lots of rings but we all loved him. I miss him a lot. By the way there is a mistranslation. He does not say "I am back" he says "equinox" . He says some opposite things happening there and somewhere else. Even the tone changes at 7:00 as a part of the equinox.

Here is the translation of the lyrics, I made for another reaction video. In that video, song title was translated as tropic, hence the explanation is about that. By the way I saw that "bosom" is used in the translation on this video and it might be slightly better than "lap", so I changed it here. THE SOLSTICE ("Dönence" is used here most likely as winter solstice rather than "tropic", since it is the longest night, and days start to get longer after that.) Barış Manço is much more than a singer for Turks. He was the face of Turkey opening to the world. He would travel all over the world and tell everyone about peace. He adopted this ideology so much that he named his sons as Doğukan (Dogukan's English is east) and Batıkan (Batikan's English is west). The English of Barış, which is his own name, means "peace". He is a cultural ambassador who has spent his life for the peace of the east and west. I hope I explained correctly. A perfect example to be recognized by the world is the human being. Im a turkish person who grew up abroad away from my dad most of my life because hed travel all the time for work and baris manco was what always connected us, he showed me donence at the age of 4 and im 20 years old now back in turkey and playing the bass, i get goosebumps everytime i hear that funk come in

Baris Manco is the elder brother of all Turkish people and uncle Baris of all children in Turkey. I was born in 1983 and grew up with his music. He wasn't a singer only, he was a presenter, actor and much more. We miss him and his music deeply.
