Originally known as a rhythm to celebrate warriors coming back from battle, Bara is also played for many other occasions. Here it accompanies the dance of magician/healer. Filmed during the Festival sur le Niger 2011 in Segou.

It's been a long time a I don' have any detailed info about this particular dance. What I was told it is a dance of magicians in Bamana region.

Don't know exactly from which village... this performance was held at the festival's site in Segou.

It's Bamana traditional drum ensemble from Segou. The big calabash is called "cunba" and the drums played with stick and hand are called "bon".
