So weird that for years Larry H. had to stand there, knowing that nobody had tuned in to see him at all. Then he went on Dallas and Dynasty, standing next to Charlene Tilton, Joan Collins and Lynda Evans. Ouch...
@@MrEdWeirdoShow Well yes but he did shine there as JR and definately made a very strong impression,Remember or Heard of the Who shot JR Craze that was going on ? 😄
Barbara Eden did a terrific job on “Hey, Big Spender” - dancing, singing, WOW! So beautiful, talented, fantastic body & what a pair of legs! She had the whole package! Impressive!
Yes. Andy Griffith had had several cuties and semi cuties on it, guesting, and a couple of regulars, at times. My opinion is that Babara Eden was, by far, the best looking of any that I can remember. She really had it going on. Our world has some beautiful sights in it; oceans, beaches, mountains, canyons, and etc. To me, nothing is more beautiful than a beautiful, unpretentious, woman.
Was in a store and the clerks who were 19, and 20 were listening to music fron the mid 60s like The Animals, Doors, Stones, Mamas and the Papas. The freaked when I told them that if i was listening to 55 year old music when I was 20 I would have been listening to music from the roaring 20s. Charleston and such.
I got that record when I was a kid, but I'm not sure why or how. i think my mom was a closet rocker and probably bought it for me. She never really bitched about any of my music, even buying me Steppenwolf albums! Dad, well, he thought the Beatles ruined rock music. But at least he gave a crap one way or the other.
I am impressed how she did all those moves with those heels on. As far as lip syncing or not. I think she is lip syncing to her own recording. Look at all the bouncing around she is doing, the turning and twisting. It would be nearly impossible to keep a mic consistently following her around and still get a consistent smooth sound like that, plus all her bouncing around.
Variety shows, by definition, exposed the audience to different types of music or even other types of entertainment. You would get rock, classical, opera, juggling, dancing, and whatever else. Today we pigeonhole ourselves with the insane number of options on cable tv, xm radio, spotify, etc
Yup. Even today, Barbara Eden is a beautiful lady in her early 90s. I’d like to see her beat Olivia DeHaviland in longevit. I may have butchered Olivia’s name. I’m still sad over Welch’s passing. Although those women are old enough to my mother and probably grandmother, their aging and passing is just a reminder of how quickly our lives march on. At 50, I’m trying to outrun the reaper every day living with lymphoma, I’d love to make it past 70. As long as my bones aren’t broken and cracked lol
If you are as old is I am, you'll appreciate the fact that the car wasn't damaged with anyone climbed on it... .. back in the day, people were thin, and cars were thick...😊
Indeed - watching sporting events from the roof of one's car was commonplace. My dad had a 1963 Chrysler Imperial, and that thing was a TANK. As far as I was able to tell it was exactly the model that the intro credits to Magnum PI show exploding. My dad, rest his soul, always used to grimace, every time.
@@rogerstlaurent8704 He he he. Just saying .. As a young boy, I found her pretty. Along with Mary Ann, and Ginger. I am so happy some of those shows are streaming now. Oh and PS.. I loved Genie, but I was always a Mary Ann kind of guy. But still love Genie.
@@BRUTUSPLAC Nobody’s body is beautiful in their 80s. That’s disgusting! She was beautiful in the prime of her youth, but that all vanishes at some point.
2:47 Interesting how the guitars are not plugged in, Mark is the only guy with a mic (cordless), the back up singers are not mic'd up, yet we can hear them plane as day.
Guys started growing their hair long after the Beatles hit in 1964. This was from 1967. Pony tails had not caught on though. Now you see them on guys everywhere.
I have to agree with both of you. It wasn't an event, but it did take some time. It started with the beatles, but really caught on more strongly around '67. It is amazing how you can cut up the 1960's into specific phases of fashion and fads and hair styles right down to the season, summer, fall, winter or spring of a particular year. But that is what it was like back then. We went from one astonishing new thing to another. It was the best time to be a teenager.
Grew up in the 60s and watching I dream of Jeannie and listening to this music. Miss the simpler times when the world still made sense and the fab four were still making hits.
Sweet lady. When I was a kid I hoped to get her autograph at the grand opening of a bowling alley she and her husband owned. Her manager told her it was time to go and there was no time to give me an autograph, but she looked down at me and insisted in signing my autograph book. She was a classy lassie (with a great chassis).
I can't disagree, there. She did have a unique beauty. I can't think of anybody who would outshine her. I can think of a few that were close, in my mind, though: Donna Douglas, Barbara Hale, Dawn Wells, Yvonne Craig, Jacilyn Smith, to name a few.
@@randymerlo4070 Yes, you have a good point, but they weren't on TV, in a series, that I remember. Ann Margaret did appear on a lot of TV specials, and guested on several variety shows.
I went to car show with my father in the 1970's and Paul Revere & the Raiders were playing at the car show! The lead singer's son was selling Paul Revere & the Raiders T-shirts.
This clip of Paul Revere and the Raiders was right at the time I was learning to play guitar. I could play this song, and I could do this dance. But I could NOT play and sing at the same time.
The only hit they had in the 70's was "Indian Reservation" that went to #1 in 1971. They had some hits from 65-69, like Kicks, Hungry, Don't take it so hard, Let me, Mr. Sun Mr Moon. You may have heard some of those songs in the 70's, and would recognize some of them, and just didn't know who sang them at the time.
Barbara was special and influenced what my idea of a woman should look like (married a cute blonde myself), but when I was 14 listening to WLS every night in bed they played the Raiders and it is my favorite memory of that era. Hungry for those good things baby.
A crying shame and everybody knows who the main shit head is that's keeping them out. He is the most petty, hateful jackass to ever pollute the universe with his existence. And those are his good points!
Wonderful video of Barbara 😅, sounds like Bud Brisbois playing high note trumpet. With regard to cordless guitars, I remember seeing them on Gilligan's Island 😁
Many actors back then were triple threats ( act, sing and dance) Back then to be a celebrity you had to have something called TALENT. Now a days any schlep can be one.
Looks like Mark’s mic was live but the band wasn’t. No guitars plugged in. No other mics. This was a cool song. Wish they were allowed to play it live on the show.
Yes as long as you weren’t around 18. Uncle Sam was offering a years paid camping trip.To a place that had a little political problem. And he thought you might be the answer.

I agree! Lynda Carter, what can you say, painfully beautiful and a smoking hot natural body. Her and a Barbara were on a lot of your guys minds back then for good and bad reasons.
What an odd concept for Hey Big Spender. That ending when they're dancing in the tires was bizarre. I guess people were trying all sorts of things during this era. Barbara Eden has some good moves. She looked like a real dancer out there.
They were playing a recording during the raiders appearance. Might have been during Edens performance too. I guess the shows back then did that. Just had the actual performers going through the motions.
