Barbara Hearns Smith recalls the days she dated Elvis Presley, the close relationship she shared with his mother and how she watched him become a star in 1956.
Back then, young women & their boyfriend's mothers made a special point to invest time & effort to get to know each other. That Barbara knew Gladys better than she knew Elvis was probably true since Elvis was on the road alot in 1956.
I know Elvis made me a better person or at least added to it ,he sang with such emotion it just made you feel good opening up your own emotions from your soul,wanting to treat others well ,I wish I could have met him ,and wish he could have survived those darker years to flourish in his golden years . Mrs. Barbara Hearn Smith was and still is as beautiful as any of those starlets from those days .
Awesome story I just happened to click because I saw Commercial Appeal made interview and I has just watched another Elvis video so was kimda like suggestion to me. I had heard her name in past but wasn't sure thought she may be Elvis family from Smith side. I know its been years since this was posted but the title of post pf this awesome interview of awesome lady ahould be highlighted to include Elvis in the title . I could see this video reaching up into the thousands or millions by now. It's excellent work very professionally done. Its just a shame more Elvis fans like myself havent been exposed to it for all these years. Commercial Appeal please repost get it recognized for quality it is.
Finally, a lady speaking candidly about Elvis’ many women. He must have loved the excitement of new relationships, to have so many. But I guess his conscience didn’t bother him to mislead the one he was supposed to be with.
