I recorded this on VHS back in '90. I used to watch it constantly when I would get back from the gym. I remember sitting in the living room on my rocking chair eating and taking my Weider shake. Seeing this 26 years later brings back a flood of great memories. This was a month before I enlisted into the Marines. I miss these days but I'm glad I was able to experience them.
Early to mid 90's was a great time to be an Arnold fan, he was very charismatic in those movies. He reinvented himself again becoming governor and received a big push from the 25th anniversary of Pumping Iron.
“Arnold, what makes one guy a champion, one person a champion and the other one not?” “It’s drive. It’s the will. There are certain people that grow up with a tremendous hunger and its usually kids that had struggled when they were kids. When you grow up comfortably and in comfort and in peace and happiness and all of those things that will produce a very balanced person and a good person but it will not create the will and the determination and the hunger that you need to be the best in the world”
Few things in this universe are "set-in stone", it seems, and while this may be the case *often*, it most definitely isn't absolute in truth. Even those who live comfortably can have powerful will's; it's naturally inside, it just has to come out. In some cases, it is produced, in other's, it is merely brought out. Still, this is obviously all kind of vague.
fair points, and l did mention his musculature having a part in it. For example most people are taller than what they seem cuz they dont have a fit person's posture, if you're fit you get straightened out in so many ways, l speak from experience also. But he was chosen to play the hulk over Arnold because of his height in particular.
Lou used to be 6'5 so, he's around 6'4 now probably. Met him in '06, got friends who are 6'3, Louie is taller. But also keep in mind, reason why many people end up looking shorter is cuz their postures change, Louie has maintained his muscular frame to this day, still goes at it hard, so there wouldn't be that much difference as it is for normal people
Let me just say, I met Arnold and Lou in Albuquerque in 1983ish, they were not only ripped, but this height thing, Im 5'10 and both of them were at least 6'2" and they were wearing rec. shoes. nuff said. We do shorten as we age, but at that time both were big boys.
Not in 1974. Arnold was 242 lbs in 1974 and Lou was 264 lbs in 1974 and Arnold completely destroyed him badly. I have pictures of 1974 of Arnold and Lou and Arnold's muscularity, muscle bellies and muscle maturity were completely unmatched. In 1975, Arnold weighed only 225 lbs because he had lost muscles for "Stay Hungry" movie and had only 3 months to take his muscle weight back from 210 lbs to his competition weight and he could not gain all his muscles back in time.
EasyThere Pilgrim Ehm, you do know he's had plastic surgery right? That in addition to the kidney transplant he had due to years of toxic steroid abuse.
ventende Well you complain that Arnold took soooo many steroids, that he started at age 15....all I'm saying is that he's already 70 and still going. So it obviously didn't kill him.
imagine turning the clock back today ,Im sure would not get caught with the maid of 20 years having a child with her at the same time as his wife wtf was he thinking at the time
1:35 his father was the police chief and *a member of Hitler's Brownshirts and served as a 1st Sgt in the Wehrmacht.* This is why arnold was so “gifted.”
Arnold, be sincere when they ask you why you married Maria. Her connections, so the movie industry could take you seriously here and give you the big roles
@LiveOakOkie He was chosen for the Conan and Terminator movies after he met his wife to be Maria. Until that point, his movies were B or C movies, and in some he had small roles. After meeting Maria, a Kennedy, using her connections, he became part of the hollywood system, and the window for the big movies opened
@LiveOakOkie He met her around 1980 or 81 in a bodybuilding competition. She was mesmerized by his extreme physique. In one of his interviews he said that it was her who approached him and wanted to meet him. I guess, he saw the window of opportunity and jumped right into. Arnold is one of my role models, i have great respect for this man and his amazing accomplishments. I come also from a european country, and can relate to what he went through and wanted to come to America. The mentality over there does not let you chase your dreams the way United states do.
Wikipedia, gives the first meeting between Maria and Arnold in 1977, way before Arnold was chosen for any big movies. Also, if I remember correctly, Barbara Walters knew Maria since she was a little child. No doubt Maria had all the connections Arnold needed, and he saw that and benefited from that. Talent and hard work is important, but having connections is 99% of success in this world
Mark Dorchester He never loved her, he just did her a couple of times. Its not hard to imagine the situation: you come home, youre tired and exhausted from all the jetsetting, its probably raining outside, you come home and you're immediately thrown with the family problems, everyone else gets on with their lives the next day and you are in this weird melancholic zone, you feel lonely for some reason and the house is empty and the maid is there, smirking at you... the only thing is does one have the willpower to say no or just indulge?
You expect a liberal old hag like her to have swag? She couldn’t have swag if she was born again and reinvented herself. You can’t teach it, you either have it or you don’t.
That last statement is absolutely not true, for example 90% of Africa is poor and hungry and so far as I know they not champions nor they are the best of the world 😂😂😂😂😂
