As a kiwi, i love watching and reminiscing about Jonah..............forever missed and loved by ALL rugby fans. BUT.......by far...the best try ever in a rugby game to date is the 1973 Gareth Edwards try against my beloved All Blacks. As a kiwi, we appreciate excellence in rugby, whatever the team be and this is the try for all time. Gareth, you were a legend and a gentleman. RIP and much Aroha (Love and respect to your family & friends) Big Jim (New Zealand).
@@grantpitkethley8638 Yup. I know, but it was not called on the day and was simply awesome. With today’s rules, there was a nice high tackle as well, which were legal those days. Don’t sweat the small stuff, bud. Enjoy life for what is is with it’s ups and downs.
Pleased to see that Cullen got a Babas try..... not enough made of how far he had to go and how fast to give him so much time to safely collect and dot down.
I like the fact that some people have never some of these “masterpieces”. It is a new joy to some. The Barbarians bring happiness and enjoyment wherever they go.
There's a handful of the 70s tries that I'd never seen before - proper joyous rugby! Thanks for tracking them down and posting them - there's so much pre-professional era rugby that's been forgotten. You'd be doing the world a favour if you could find more and get it the attention it deserves.
Barbarian rugby is all about the free flowing game. There is no major competitions on the line, no sporting politics just rugby. It doesn’t matter if you lose by fifty points just play the game how it should be played.
Love the last try on the video it proves how skillful the players of old were not just stamping and bludgeoned around the park, slight touches high speed and excellent skill that would fit in any top team of today !
Of course the 1973 is the last to be shown because it is the best and will always remain so,not only for how it was scored but the who,s who of rugby at the time
You should try playing mate. It's the best sport with the best sportsmen and women in it. Give it a go. You will have a club close by and they will be very welcoming.
