Cracking video, what a stunning session on the island at gunthorpe, and what a beast if a barbel too, such a shame the island has now turned into syndicate only, definitely a mixed fortunes on the tidal, all winter ,it seems like the middle trent has had really strong winds pushing through, lovely video, well done on the new pb, tight lines, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Cracking season you've had Andrew, i've also had my best season. I'll be on the Derwent midnight 16th June for the season opening, hopefully see you along there that week maybe :)
Great first night, worth that perilous walk along the weir heading to the pontoon for those fish especially the 19lb 2oz one, Shame about the other 2 evenings but that’s fishing.Look forward to the next video in June.
I enjoyed watching this video Andy, that first night by the weir was amazing with so many barbel including the monster! I’m guessing you are a Barbel Society member from the hat you are wearing. I’m also a member so I may see you at the BS show in May.
If the river is at normal level and I'm not required to use heavy leads then I use my normal 1.75tc rods....however if the river is up or I'm fishing into a weir and need heavy leads then I use 2.5tc rods.
