As a wheelchair user seeing more dolls come in a wheelchair truly means a lot. There aren't many toys that include wheelchair's so this is amazing. Inclusivity is so important for people to see and experience. I find a fanny pack quite useful and have quite a collection now! I want to thank you for this video, from talking about your personal experience to just reviewing these dolls. I hope you have a great day! Too whoever needs it sending my love ❤️! Remember to wear your crown proudly and keep your head held high because you deserve the world and all of your feelings are valid❤️!

The way that Barbie Fashionista is diverse is amazing, and the fact that there are dolls who are in wheelchairs or have prosthetic limbs or even the doll I have, the one with Vitiligo is astonishing, because there will be so many children out there who see a doll who is like them and will be happy, which is the best thing ever.

I have that black doll in the wheelchair! I recently got back into Barbies after being a Barbie girl as a kid. I’ve also been in a wheelchair my entire life because I was born with arthrogryposis. As soon as I saw her, I was so excited to see a doll that was like me represented and representing so many children in wheelchairs. My friends were even excited and encouraged me to get her. You’re so right that it’s important for us to see ourselves because even at 26, seeing toys represent me makes me so so happy.

My feelings were almost never validated in school. I was always told “other people have it worse” and was told to “make a different choice” when I had meltdowns. It only made me even more upset.

@Chompchompyerded
@Chompchompyerded 2 года назад
This is going way off topic, but... I use the colours as for some reason we must, but the colour terms have always seemed a bit... off to me. I have only ever seen one truly white person, and he was dead, so I hope never again to see another white person again. People who are a shade of light brownish pink are far preferable to the white dead ones. They can interact with you. I have also never seen a black person. I have seen people of all shades of wonderful warm brown; some the colour of dark, fertile earth, and others the colour of the best milk chocolate. Even looking at pictures of people who have spent a lot of time outside in sub-Saharan Africa I don't see anyone who is truly black. Except maybe in the coal mines of Appalachia, and they immediately turn back into a human colour as soon as they take a shower. I understand the labels, and I use them, but to me they just don't seem to fit. I'm going to catch a lot of flack for this comment, but I'll say it anyway. I can't wait until humanity gets over this race thing, because it's not race, it's ethnicity and culture. Race is more of a familial trait, and one really has no control over that any more than they have control over big ears or something like that, but ethnicity and culture are things which we can all celebrate and cherish even if we do not belong to that culture or ethnicity. Having lots of ethnicities and cultures makes us rich in ways we can't even put words to, and it gets rid of the stigma which people put on being mixed race. It embraces the person and their uniqueness in the universe and gets rid of the categorizing which has all too often divided us in the past. I think if we saw each other in that way we would no longer permit whole groups of people to remain in poverty simply because of the shade their skin is. Genetically we are not races. And I would love to be a part of a place which is one people where the only thing that matters is the well being of each other. I am old, and therefore it is a dream which will not come true in my lifetime, but I hope that maybe someday it will come true for some of those who are alive today. I have seen a lot of movement in that direction in my lifetime, though it is a very long way away from being complete. I only hope that the trend will continue, and that the bigots who wish to divide us will someday be driven completely to extinction. I am hoping that recent upticks in white supremacist acting out is nothing more than the death cry of a fading and dying beast rebelling against what it knows is its passing, and that soon we will all be free to be simply us; each and every one unique in the universe, and all worthy of love.

Thank you for talking about letting children ask questions to people in wheelchairs. Since I am in a wheelchair and went to a school where they taught us how to talk about our challenges. This made me very comfortable with having C.P. What I hate though is when adults try to stop them. I understand there reasoning, but it can make you feel worse.

I am loving all the diversity and inclusion in the fashionista lines. I just wish one day we might get a curvy wheelchair Barbie. That would be the dream for me. I love watching your videos and your talk about accepting pain for what it is and not shaming or dishonoring what we are going through. I am 30 and have used a wheelchair and a rollator walker for the past 8 years. I have had days where my body is so weak I can't walk the stores or the pain is bad enough I can't get out of bed. Then I start to feel shame because I think well my legs can technically still walk so I should walk the stores even though I am in excruciating pain because I feel guilty for using my wheelchair, or for staying in bed for one whole day, etc.. It's hard to mentally allow myself to accept my pain and health for what it is. I think just hearing you talk about similar issues and bringing awareness to stuff like this has helped me over the years. I found your channel back when I first fell and dislocated both knees at the same time. I found your channel then and as your channel grew and transformed into what it is today I have grew and transformed into who I am today. It's like I found you when I needed you and you helped me get through to the hardest part of my life and I am forever thankful and grateful for that. On a side note as soon as you showed the colorblock hoodie ken I instantly thought he looked like Eminem back in the day just with questionable clothing choices. With the right clothes and a few DIY tattoos he could transform nicely.

I bought that *Made to Move Ken,* doll at the start of the month because Mattel has never made a MtM budget $15 Yoga boy doll before, because boys drool and girls rule, I guess? Anyways he came with a neat wheelchair to sit, and roll around in, and cool sunglasses. He was $20 though cause Mattel charges you an extra $5 for the cool wheelchair. maybe one day they'll release a curvy $15 Yoga MtM Ken!!

Hi Melissa. I have been bingeing your channel for the last few day while I sew doll outfits or just plain vege out on the lounge. I really needed to see/hear your message today and I am really grateful that you shared your story. In 2011 I had a car accident that broke my spine and I was lucky to survive it, let alone still be able to walk. I very nearly ended up in a wheelchair but a spinal fusion in 2012 avoided that. I am currently on medical leave as I have been struggling with my mental health and have just been diagnosed with delayed onset PTSD. It probably has actually gone undiagnosed for all this time as I had not taken my time to "honour my feelings" and take time to grieve my loss of ability, health, daily pain.... Trying to be strong and 'positive' has not been working and I am accessing help. Your channel is one of my favourites and I look for fresh videos from you every day. THANKYOU for your message today. I needed to hear it and I am grateful for it.

I have been dealing with my chronic illnesses a lot lately, the weather seems to have flared them. I have arthritis in my hips and knees and possibly in my ankles and shoulders. I also have something wrong with my reproductive system that have been leaving me in pain and tired all the time. I had always been told that "someone has it worse" or people would try to invalidate my pain because I was diagnosed with arthritis when I was about 4 years old, and it's only been recently that I have been trying to get help for my pain, through therapy and through trying to get diagnosed with whatever it is. About a year and a half ago I had a really bad seizure that made me weak so I borrowed my aunts extra wheelchair and every time I went in public while using it I felt like I was being judged. I was a healthy looking teenager and I wish it was normalized for invisible illnesses to not be judged. Seeing the wheelchair barbies actually makes me kinda happy since it wasn't something I had for my dolls as a kid, that was something I always wanted. Tldr; I have chronic illnesses and I hate it, but the wheelchair barbies are great Also, I have no doll people to share this with but I found my 2008 cabbage patch doll and I'm cleaning her up since I still have all the clothes for her which is making me happy.

@c.w.2000 3 года назад
I am sorry you are dealing with this. I had some health issues when I was younger, but most did not start until I was in my 30s. I imagine it is especially hard to be burdened with stuff most teenagers don't have when you are young and your sense of self is still developing. One thing I have learned is that when friends and family (or even doctors) try to minimize your suffering, it is often to make themselves feel better. They might actually be unable to emotionally take on your pain, and they are trying (even unintentionally) to protect themselves. However, they are certainly not being helpful to you, and it doesn't change your reality. I am now in my 40s and am still working on separating other people's (even doctor's) opinions of me from the reality of the complexities of living life in my body (including my brain). I was formerly a healthcare professional and have a good understanding of medical knowledge, and what I see in the majority of cases is that people over-simplify. Again, this makes it easier for them, but it does a disservice to you. What a person can do about this in each relationship varies, and sometimes people just won't get it, but I think if one calmly and assertively continues to state their reality, it is a defence against letting those untrue statements hang in the air unchallenged. For those strangers who see you when you are out in public, they are truly ignorant (that is, they lack knowledge or awareness), so it is in your best interest to not pay attention to their reactions. That takes practice, but it can get easier. I hope you get the help that you need, and that some your burden can be lifted. I'm glad you found your Cabbage Patch Doll. I had one back in the early 80s whose name was Gretel Julie. I think doing things one enjoys like restoring and playing with dolls can be helpful when one is ill. That's a large part of why I do it, and I see that other people use it as a kind of therapy as well.

I hated dealing with the backpack on the back of the chair, though I think my husband was happy not to have to carry it around (it was heavy with the camera in it). I have Arthritis from my neck to my ankles. I have been in pain for months. But I do the positive thing all the time when I really just want to cry. I need to work on honoring my feelings. Thank you. I agree with you about the Ken fashions His official birthday is March 11th (Why do I know that?). I will pray you have some good days ahead. I thank God for your courage.

I just love your videos! I totally know what your saying about owning your feelings. I’m in a wheelchair. It’s temporary, I just need physical therapy to strengthen my legs. I feel really bad about myself but I won’t express that because it’s not permanent like so many people. I felt so stupid because I got excited about the Kens in wheelchairs even though hopefully I’ll be out of mine soon. But I just think their cool. Thanks for normalizing it for me!!!

Hi mommy I love your videos I've been watching your rainbow high doll videos sense yesterday and I've been watching you on RU-vid sense you had your first channel. I don't know what year I started watching your videos but i watched them for the monster high and other dolls videos for me and my sister when she was little I'd watch your monster high and other doll videos all the time. Everytime my sister wanted monster high doll I'd go to your channel and look up the doll she wanted and I go with our parents to Walmart to make sure they were getting my sister the right one for when it was for Christmas or her birthday and I'd play monster high with my sister and I helped with taking care of her monster high dolls hair for my sister a lot By using my American girl doll brush and brush MH dolls hair for her. The. Me and both my sisters loved watching the monster high show on Nick it came on every week end. The 3 of us girls I have another sister she's speical needs she liked the monster high show. The 3 of us of us girls would watch monster high and we loved it. I miss monster high I'm kicking myself for not getting some of the dolls. My little sister don't have her MH dolls no more she gave them away to some little girls once she out grew MH and dolls. I still love dolls manly American girl dolls and frozen and Harry Potter and wizard of oz. I love your channel mommy love Rachel xoxoxo ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for your beautiful words!! I don’t think I’ve heard anyone ever put the use of “positivity” to ignore and shove away our own feelings into words before. I really needed to hear that. I’ve definitely been doing that myself. Also I love your “rants” - never change! ♥️
