Ikr but I got to say I think the reason is that Mattel lost the rights to Disney so that means they can’t make it Disney dolls anymore and Disney dolls were worth a lot of money and Mattel used the money to pay for factories to make good quality dolls so maybe that’s why Barbie and Monster High are very low quality

2010 fashionistas price was the same as Barbie extra today. You can't compare 2010 fashionistas and fashionistas today because they weren't a budget line. If you compare extra and 2010 fashionistas you can see that extra are more articulated, the quality of the hair is better (they also haven't the glue problem) and the fashions are also better (more details, real zips, better fabric).

@@welwitschiamirabilis8525 The Extra line still isn’t good. Compare whatever you want there’s been a general decrease about the products. Both creatively and perhaps quality wise but I haven’t touched a Barbie in years so I wouldn’t know that.

@@ramu-silly good for you! It’s amazing knowing who you are and being able to proclaim it. But that scared feeling when you came out? That the world didn’t accept you? Being non binary is not how the economic world sees you. As far as many of the older generation who is in charge of that world is concerned you don’t even exist. You are an outlier. So of course there is no pink tax on your product. There is a whole new issue with product for LGBTQIA+ and how impossible some of it is to get in rural areas based on high discrimination and/or bias shopping. It is gender discrimination equally for you. I see nothing advertising for non binary people where I live. All for him/her. gender-minority persons are more likely to live in poverty (29% vs. 12%), be unemployed (15% vs. 5%), be uninsured (14% vs. 11%), be the victim of intimate-partner violence (24% vs. 18%), have attempted suicide (40% vs. 4.6%), have experienced severe psychological stress in the past month (39% vs. 5%), and have HIV (1.4% vs. 0.3%). We must also remember the gender based on color is a societal thing, rather than actuality. Such as pink being a boy color etc. The problem now however is that they’re taxing products necessary for people who menstruate to live and work. Thus profiting on a very real and emotional issue. And where I live you being Non-binary would not be respected. People here refuse to respect my trans boyfriend and still call him a her, about once a month a customer attacks him for his “life choices and how dare you do this to your family” and “god is not ok with this”. He does get paid less by about two dollars less than anyone else in his position but because we are a “right to work state” it is completely legal. Here they can fire you for being trans, which has happened to him and a friend who asked to go by non binary terms at work was denied and fired as being “to different for the image the company wanted to put forward.”
