Danielle, I lived watching this flip through of these adorable Barbie journals. You did a great job with colors, vintage ephemera and cutouts. I will watch it again on my computer to see everything clearer. Great job as usual.
These journals are so awesome! Where did you get the hair net envelopes, the Revlon stationary, and the bowling alley stationary? And how did you get such a great stash of vintage greeting cards and playing cards? That stuff is so unique. I never come across anything like it in my area (northeast).
Thank you! Honestly, I buy them mostly from vintage ephemera sellers on Etsy and eBay. Definitely not the most economical but I love working with the items so I try to find “lots” of things and really shop around for prices…. Or at least do my best. I know you can occasionally find these things thrifting and at estate sales but from what I gather you have to go to many and you may go multiples times without finding anything but get really lucky every once in a while. When my kiddos get older maybe I can do estate sales and such more often but for now I think it has to be Etsy and eBay. Hope this helps 🙃 oh and if you want to resell your journals that you make you either have to really increase the price which I’ve had to do as of lately or like when I first got started I used all the profits I made for the first 6 months -a year to buy ephemera to increase my stash and have supplies.
