I love how you wait a little to buy duplicates til other collectors can get theirs. I always am lowkey salty when I see collectors get like 5 of them and then they sell out and get scalped when loads of people never got the chance. While obviously that one person buying 5 isn't the sole reason why this stuff happened but it doesn't help lol
I'd really like an eastern asian Ken and a Ken doll with the Barbie Basics/AA skintone. Honestly just more Ken's in different skintones like the MTM line. I do like Fryda and think she deserves another doll.

Hey there! So, I was just thinking how awesome it would be if Mattel made a Ken doll with Ginger-rooted hair! Like, seriously, how cool would that be? I imagine him with that fiery red hair, maybe even a shade of ginger, you know? And let's not forget the articulation! It would be so great if they gave him the "Made to Move" feature, like, being able to pose him in all sorts of ways. And hey, why not throw in a new face sculpt too? Just to switch things up a bit! I mean, imagine all the possibilities for different looks and styles! Mattel, if you're listening, please make this happen! It would totally make our doll collections complete! 🙏😄
Red head, ken, and curvy are my faves. But wave 4 is my overall favorite of the waves and I like all of them. I would like to see another red head ken. I think BMR 1959 had a red head ken. I enjoy your reviews!

Definitely I want to see ginger Ken with fully rooted hair without flocked or painted hair. From facial sculpts I want to see Fryda, Daria, MOTM Nichelle, Selma, Julio, Faraway Forest Ken sculpt (from Wedding set) in Looks line.
I love this entire Looks wave! I bought Ken & the strawberry redhead (Audra) Barbie, but the rest are on my wishlist to buy as dolly funds permit. I usually buy my favorite Looks dolls right off & then go back for more if they go on sale.

Between My sister and I, we got the entire wave and some doubles. I don’t think anyone who’s aware of Barbie Looks would wait… Most of the dolls from the previous waves have gone way up in price. Very few of them are still $22. Most Black Americans have a West African face with poutier larger👄 lips and broader nose, but not all. Most East Africans ( ex. Ethiopians, Eritreans and Somalians ) have straight bridge noses and thinner lips. So the Black Heidi does not look mixed to me.
I didn't get the petite Victoria, because of the prototype pics, but now I want her with the different hair style. I don't like short hair on dolls, but I love her face & can't wait to see restyles of her hair. If you do, please share !
There are only so many male dolls in a t-shirt and pants/shorts a collector needs. That's pretty much as basic as men's fashion gets. And once you have one, there isn't a variety of clothing that fits the body.

I wish they had a tall one in this wave, hopefully if there is a Mattel Creations exclusive she will be tall! I will say tho, I bought all of them but Andra and when they arrived, Victoria had SERIOUS wonk eye and Heidi had one of her braids in the front chopped off, and sticking up at the top of her head. I try not to be picky, but it’s frustrating having to deal with defects like that.
So many people try to match mtm bodies up against the faces & I get that, but it limits your options. Because many dolls come with bodies that are a shade off from their heads. So, I usually look at the original doll & if I think the skin tone on the body looks good with her face, then I find a mtm body that matches that body. Sometimes if I can get away with it, I will find a shade slightly darker. Like for real pale white dolls. But it depends. I made the mtm tennis player into a vampire, so her pale skin tone was perfect...lol. But over all I prefer a more tanned look. But in this wave, I was different. I only got my 2 favorite ones for now & they are Andra & Lina, which are the lightest skins in this wave. But the faces are my favorite.
I think we only have one Ken in the buff body because the last one sold well. We don't have second Ken in this wave because the other one from last year didn't sale well.
Thanks for your great review. The issue I had was getting 2 #20's with bad screenings (Amazon purchase). The paint was missing on the eyebrow on one doll and the lips on the other. I think the quality went down in this wave. So I have to wait to reorder until a new batch is released. Mattel has dropped the ball for collectors by releasing a poorer-quality while raising the price. And don't get me wrong, I spent $160 buying the 12 Days of Spring Doll release day with my membership. Just waiting to receive it. 🙂
This was a fantastic overview of the line - really enjoyed! Victoria and the Ken are my favourites, which is wonderfully strange since Victoria was my least favourite when the first images dropped. I'm just waiting for them to get to me. I'm considering Simone next - maybe.

Honestly... no. Although Lina is pretty and not as drab as Millie, she lacks that something that makes a barbie, Barbie. When you look at the most iconic sculpts like the OG, Malibu, Superstar or even Millie they have something that no matter the screening or skin tone you can just tell which is which.
Did Barbie looks wave 2 (metallic) have two kens? from memory there was only the Jacob doll in the silver pants. Anyways I really enjoy your review and I hope your channel continue to grow and have much success.

How different is this new petit one skin tone from the petit Karl from last wave? Cause they look almost the same. (The shoes the new petit is wearing are the ones from petit Karl too tho)
The vintage faces don’t look like contemporary fashion models to me. Maybe it would be nice to see a “Vintage Looks” wave, in which they are all older molds, but I’m not sure what the general demand would be. It would have been nice for the 65th anniversary instead of the cheap Fashionistas they put out.
Another great review. I love this wave and want all six dolls. I’m hoping we see a tall girl in another deluxe mini-giftset like we saw in wave 3. Another guy would have been great too. I’d love to see a redhead Ken.

I don't have the Mattel membership yet. This is the second time I've heard they're slow to ship. Haven't bought anything from them yet either. I'd not really like it if the Barbie comes in her shipping box, as I receive all my parcels over the counter at the local post office, and I feel that what I'm buying is MY business, not that of the postmistress... So I'm a little concerned about that, but if there's one I just gotta have, and can't get her on Amazon or Ebay for less, I'll buy from Mattel. That would be neet to get one straight from the source.
Ken Barbie Looks 25 has to be by far my favorite of this wave. 21s clothes are my favorite. Brooklyn will be snatching her outfit. Yes Mattel! We need a slim (twink) and broad Made To Move Ken. Hopefully we get a Latino skin color buff Ken. Definitely would love to have one to pair with the buff guys. I love the silver boots!
The new Barbie Looks Dolls are supposed to be inspired by the 90's, but all I see is Easter because of the color palettes. I bought 4 of #25 & picked out the one with the tightest curls to condition & slightly gel for display & the other three are already body donars, plus I bought one of each of #22 & #23 which I had to wash & condition the blondes long hair due to the packaging. I still may buy #20, #21, & #24, but I'm still deciding whether I really want them. 🩷
I wasn't going to buy the petite. The hair change is why I changed my mind. The new MTM Boxer barbie matches this looks petite. Yes! Please review the fashion packs you mentioned. ❤
Tex is great, but in my opinion his hairstyle reminds broccoli, Eddie Murphy dressed up as broccoli in Daddy Day Care, so this Ken also might be Eddie 😆, kidding 🤭, Tex is nice 🥰
Yeah Mattel Creation membership is ass. I only got 2 dolls from it that were truly exclusive for the membership. But it should be free shipping or at the very least free shipping for $50 purchase, anything.
Barbie Looks is currently my last hope for Barbie. They’ve been doing amazing with it and I hope they continue it! I love that they’ve been giving the dolls thinner eyebrows rather than thick caterpillars like they do to Millie!
I was gonna buy Simone mainly for her outfit cause I love when Mattel makes fitted dresses for curvy dolls but you have convinced me that she's worthy of being on display so I guess I'll have to grab one haha. Lina is easily the most boring one in this wave which is sad cause she really needed some extra makeup with how simple of a dress she came with. She literally looks like she's cosplaying Millie. Lina definitely remains one of my faves but in this wave she's the least exciting of all. Heide and Andra are absolutely the standouts in this wave followed by the first ever Victoria I actually like LOL. Last two waves she was ok but this time around I really dig the face screening. All in all though this is a strong wave for what it is. And I guess the price went up cause these shiny fabrics tend to be a little more expensive I guess but I guess it is what it is. I'm just kinda sad that the screenings continue to be dubious like it's barbie signature, there should be no room for error here...
I think Mattel noticed that everyone was buying them and reselling them for 2 and 3x the amount they were originally. So they only allowed us to buy 1 each, rather than 2each. I got the whole collection and wish I could get a second set and resell. But they noticed and changed the rules lol
The pixie cut doll is my favorite. I’ve bought two. Her face is gorgeous, but her outfit snags easily. I got the curvy girl with the pout. She just looks like a princess to me. I got the Ken, but he had some plastic tags around his knees where the plastic leaked out of the mold I guess. I want to give him one of those high flat hairstyles like my high school classmates had in the 90s.
Are these names you call them you made up or they really are those names? I ask because I have some of the same figures. I saw no name of the figures on the boxes they come in.
i'm not too sad at the lack of tall dolls cause like most of the time i can barely tell the difference and when i first got them got a barbie looks doll which was the first barbie i'd had in a long time i thought it was a tall barbie cause she just seemed tall. I was hoping instead of 3 standard barbies they would give us a slim or broad ken, i want a twink and a bear ken so bad.
They could have also done a new Barbie body sculp. Maybe if they remade the wonder woman body with made to move articulation, how they did the buff Ken from the superhero body.

I love the Looks line, as they come with mtm bodies, but also we know the face screening is pretty guaranteed to be good. No pixelation, no wonk. I don't have every single doll in this line, but at least 3-4 or more from each wave. This wave I only got 2 so far, but plan to get at least 2 more later. But most I got at the beginning at regular price.
BMR Tate is the ultimate ginger Ken. Sorry, but Tex is a lame name for an AA Ken, given the state of Texas's stance on minority/gay rights issues. I would have called him Bassy, in homage to his roots as Basics AA Ken.
Honestly the first wave and the second wave was perfect!! Tbh . The 3rd wave and the 4th wave were kinda weak in my opinion. They definitely put less effort into this wave and then they wanna charge 25 dollars ! The other waves were 22 bucks at most. I’m gonna wait for these to go on sale then get a few of them . I’m definitely getting the black girl with braids and the petite short girl with short hair. I definitely plan to reroot her . Her face sculpt is beautiful 😍. I feel like they could’ve made better outfits for the thick curvy Barbie and they could’ve given her better bangs . They look flat and straw like . I would’ve preferred a round bang or a bang with more volume. As for the Ken his body is nice but his hair is horrible! Like I’ve seen other doll collectors redo his hair or head swap him . I feel like these last two wave were just executed poorly. I’m definitely gonna wait to they go on sale .
