Oh, the body on the Rainbow High custom is a Neo-Blythe body, what an unexpected hybrid, cute! I love Brooklyn and her collector version is so awesome!!!
So far the only 65th anniversary doll I’ve bought has been Brooklyn. I immediately gave her the MTM Yoga body & made her into my main Brooklyn too! I also switched the Target exclusive Brooklyn friend Lyla to this same MTM Yoga body. I love the way you’ve restyled your Brooklyn btw! And I totally agree that Barbie is being treated like the red headed step child when it comes to manufacturing budgeting. It’s as if Mattel keeps lowering the quality while raising prices & we Barbie collectors still find a way to talk ourselves into buying these dolls.
You're totally right about April! Enjoyed the video! The fashion pack arriving when you're reviewing Brooklyn was so serendipitous - her final form looked amazing!
She was a must have for me. Her cheeky expression won me over and the dress is really nice. Easy to rebody on the yellow top made to move so her skin tone is compatible. I love your reviews because I always learn something from you.
I love the new Brooklyn! I got her a while back and she is just stunning. I’m hoping they reuse this sculpt again in the near future with different makeup. What I’m truly hoping for is that she’s used again for this years holiday AA doll since it’s being designed by Carlyle
I def prefer the smaller heads/eyes that the collector dolls tend to have. So this New Brooklyn sculpt on her made to move body is PERFECTION!. Im hoping i can do the same
14:18 Yes, I feel the same way about Monster High and American Girl. I also buy those brands because I perceive better value, especially when they go on sale, but I would probably stick to just Barbie if there was better quality for the price (both at the mid and high level). It might partly have to do with the amount sold, but I'm not sure how well each Monster High doll is selling when they make so many different types.
It's a Sunny head I pried the eyes out of and filled in with epoxy putty, then painted in the style of Licca dolls. The hair is unraveled knit fabric glued to the head then painted over to give it the plastic-y texture. As mentioned below, the body is from a Blythe. The whole thing was a "what if" custom (which I may make another version of because I remember it being fun to do) The Dollhouse clothes were sold in Kmart. I believe they also sold Joe Boxer fashion doll clothes around the same time. The Brooklyn sculpt is cute in either form
This is a great video! Your Brooklyn looks amazing and that fashion pack was made for her. I love when a plan comes together and an ultimate version of a favourite girl is born. It's like you made her final form here. I agree her new collector face is gorgeous. Personally I won't buy the higher price dolls on principle for all the reasons you described. The looks dolls thankfully provide so much at a reasonable price point.
I love the closed mouth Brooklyn with that side eye 😒 Definitely going to be putting her on her MTM Athletic body. Also going to make her my mini Rihanna doll Loud 2010.
The special edition barbie is pretty the dress design is like a gallery setting if there was some bright colors I would get one but the arms are too pronounced so she is awkward. Ive been buying the Brtaz Boy dolls because its in recent stock again with the Babyz.
I just let ur videos play while im doing chores at home. I just like listening to you, I've watched couple of your videos from ur defa lucy review, to this, to the affordable swanlake Barbie and some of your other videos ❤❤❤❤❤
Dollhouse was a girls' fashion brand--I remember it from the Delia's catalogue. The logo/lettering looks the same. Maybe they decided to branch out into actual doll clothes at some point?
finally another (cute) bearded doll collector. which brooklyn doll would you suggest for a first one in the collection? i prefer articulation but it’s not absolutely necessary. ❤
I love the closed mouth Brooklyn face. I like it better than the original. I know Andrea Dolls Ahoy; she's an artistic doll enthusiast. She has a RU-vid channel. www.youtube.com/@AndreaWilsonDollsAhoy
I really like the Brooklyn Barbie. I love how they gave her, her own body type. I really love her hair on this doll. It really took them long enough to come out with a black doll called Barbie. Better late than never, I suppose. This doll is really pretty.
What body did you use for this Brooklyn? I love the outfit. It's super cute. I love this Brooklyn with the braids. I may have to get her. I have the original one but she is still on her original body cause I don't think I have a match for her.
Jajaja...yo, la verdad, es que prefiero las Barbies con boca cerrada. "En boca cerrada, no entran moscas". Cierto, fantásticos los híbridos de muñecas que Andrea hace y la ropa mezclando tejidos, super original.
