You are spot on with your reviews of both dolls. I agree with you on every single point. I do plan to purchase both these dolls, but only once they go on clearance. I just can’t justify the $50 price point for either. I feel like being a Barbie lover and being in a “relationship” with Mattel is like being in a relationship with an abusive narcissist, who doesn’t actually care at all about us and just wants to exploit us for our money. They keep “breadcrumbing” us, giving us just enough to keep our hopes up, but never fully deliver even though they KNOW what we want. I collect a lot of older barbies and it makes it even more depressing when comparing what used to be standard in terms of garment, face screening, and hair quality to what they’re giving us these days. But the articulation, new face sculpts, and skintone variety keeps me buying new dolls in addition to the older ones. I’m sorry to hear about your lost friendship. It sounds like you’ve made some other wonderful doll-friend relationships and hopefully those will outweigh the one that didn’t work out. I think in any new friendship, whether it’s online or in person, it’s probably best to manage our expectations and guard our hearts a little until we get a full picture of the other party’s true colors. But I hope you take your life lessons to create tools to navigate future relationships instead of shutting yourself off from them. You show a very complex and multi-faceted person in your videos, which is one reason I enjoy them so much. It makes me sad to think anyone would treat you as one sided and disposable. I’m sure it can be frustrating and discouraging at times to be a content creator, especially on a topic that’s so intimate to us, but I, and many others, appreciate all your hard work, honesty, authenticity, and vulnerability. Once I discovered your channel, I watched your entire backlog of content, and I look forward to each new video.

The attention to detail of the late 70's & 80's Barbie is present with this line. Mattel and doll face molds have always been a hit or miss for me, however, it's the intent of the doll designer to present a doll that will trigger a reaction/memory. Smiles, Smiles, Smiles with hints and hints of Pink and a new fashion. The President doll finally has natural looking make up, that compliments her skin tone and the gown. Worth buying and displaying with my other girls in a gown, however, I purchased the four seat car so she can ride on the back as if in a parade. ;-) Attention to detail, to the dolls outfits, is so refreshing. Almost every time toy makers try to make a doll look like an actress/actor they look horrible so maybe it's a good thing they stuck with the regular headmolds. Often real people's faces, no matter how beautiful they are, just don't translate well to dolls for some reason. I have a lot of love for the carnival head sculpt and I think the America Ferrara doll is adorable and I adore the shoes!!
I’m excited for the movie. Have loved the dolls so far, went absolutely feral and got most of them. In terms of favorites, gotta give that spot to the western star Margot and the fashion pack

i take all of my dolls and figures out of box....i buy them for me and not to sell...therefore box gets thrown in closet or thrown out...but dolls are set free

The BMR Pazette is so beautiful I gave her a standard MTM body so I could put her in a lot more outfits. I'm probably buying President Barbie if she goes on sale. Cos I already got Perfect Day Ken & Barbie, the fashion pack, $75 Corvette, Western Barbie, and Asian Ken. Lol. Yea I wish we had solid quality in Barbie. It's so sad. I am glad Gloria is on a MTM. ZERO idea why she couldn't look like America F.
Though pretty and the best looking of the movie dolls, the president is just a weaker version of the 2009 Holiday Barbie. Mattel doesn't care about quality. I just opened The Tooth Fairy doll from last year, and she has poly hair. Don't mind that much since I got her for $21. But she retailed for $55.
I won't be picking any Movie Barbies up either, unless they go on a deep discount. I heard about the tooth fairy doll having poly hair, no wonder she can be found at Marshals/TJ Maxx
@Toy Keyper They think that since most collectors are going to keep the doll in the box, they don't have to worry about the hair quality. She's pretty for $21, though at least she doesn't have a joker grin like the movie dolls.

I was not going to get America’s doll even though I love the Carnival face. But she is made to move…and the clothes are decent…so I will get her in addition to the President and one Margot doll. Each of the dolls I have in my collection has a story. I have many characters in my plastic soap opera world.
tbh i did like simons dolls but i felt his eyes needed to be contured more in his likeness cause while im glad thwy gave him monolds i felt the lack of detail in his eyes made his face look less intresting but all that aside....i wish they gave the nutcraker aniverary dolls this much love with the quality
Ha! I never go around with any “community”….. most of my friends are not into my personal hobbies…. So they get fascinated when they see me collecting Retro Barbie’s from the 90’s and 2000’s….
It's a shame because, in comparison to most Barbie dolls of today, the dolls are NICE quality. .. but the corner cutting is so painfully obvious and off-putting. It's funny because the packaging is what i find most appealing about this line. i wasn't impressed by any of the dolls at first, but i only recently saw the President doll and i think i want her.. but i think i'll wait for that price to come down. i already bought the three-fashion pack. i'm thinking that the president might look interesting in those outfits. Or, at the very least, it could be fun just to dress her up in them. The ONLY things about the Gloria doll that appeal to me are the shoes, and that is irritating. All of that pink was unnecessary.. . So now i can't even see myself buying the doll for the shoes.

For me just from seeing u on here and getting to enjoy u as ur own personality that I experience u as means so much to me on its own for just u being u. Cuz I would completely give anything to get to be ur friend for the u that u are period. And I’m heart broken knowing that I’ll probably never get to be seen as that to u by u for the very things uve said in this video but now I’m crying in sadness over knowing something has caused u to feel like ur replaceable or that we are in general as people replaceable cuz to me u are not at all that. Me and my boyfriend have the plan to watch Barbie move and Oppenheimer :D Probably at the same day :D And we are equally exited for both! That is saying something! If it was not for me he probably would not see Barbie on cinema and me Oppenhimer on cinema, but both movies looks like great movies and we are super exited! I even got me a Barbie hat and t-shirt!
Hey Barbie’s GBF - I had a similar experience with a well known RU-vidr who shopped from my Macari listings - once we realized who we both were, we thought it would be fun to do a trade ( I sold two integrity dolls in exchange for a custom face-up on a Barbie ) I shipped the dolls and the doll for the artist to customize and he never fulfilled his end of the trade. Months went by and he kept making excuses and eventually I gave up and took it as a huge loss. It’s unfortunate that the doll community faces these challenges quite often in my opinion. I wonder if stamp and baseball card collectors deal with this lol. I would offer this advice : Be weary of trades and promised services . I would also say that friendship is a two way street ,anyways I feel you a 💯 on that topic. Doll collecting is a vibe and I don’t let other people fuck it up for me .

i am cautiously optimistic about this Barbie movie and i said to myself that i might pass, but after seeing Margot Robbie as Barbie in the trailer, gracefully ascending from the top floor of her dream house. .. i dunno. Something in me clicked and me curious to see what other creative liberties were taken. It took me back to being a small child and playing with my sister's Barbie townhouse in the 80s. The movie might suck, but at least i would have given it a try.
I feel like every time Mattel needs to make Doll out of a latin character, they use the same facemold. Camila Cabello doll? carnival facemold. Gabriella Montez doll carnival facemold. America Ferrera doll? You guess it! Carnival is a Brazilian party and I think this face looks Brazilian, but they aways use the same old facemold.
Also did you noticed this screening of carnival actually looks like Britney Spears? They give her the old Britney eyes, so cute. Little blackout Britney doll.
Love the dolls, just the irregular price on these dolls and varying "quality" to each doll is a weird one. The way the $50 have different articulation when I feel every doll could have been MTM. I'd even be fine if they just had the standard articulation but not for $50. I feel like they all should have been $25.
I couldn’t agree more about the Gloria doll. It looks nothing like America Ferrera, it looks childish. I think they would have been better off doing the Chriselle doll that came in the wine colored coat (I think it’s a light skinned Selma?). To me it looks way more like her than this doll, especially with tweaked face screening.
I wish I could afford to buy more of the dolls from the movie but that makes them over 66$ Canadian and then shipping is ridiculous right now too. I have to pick and choose which ones I get that’s for sure.
I like the look of the President doll but not the fact that they only did the front of the top and not the back. I am so disappointed in Mattel and their cutting corners on the dolls. As for the America doll she is pretty but she has to much pink imo. I don't think the America doll looks anything like America at all. I don't understand why Mattel doesn't do better on the likeness of the actors. I purchased the Margot Robbie doll in the pink gingham dress but I hate those bangs because they don't look like her bangs in the movie and they look badly done. Also I think she looks nothing like Margot. She is disappointing but I am getting her cheap due to Amazon points I had so it really isn't a loss to me. I like her gingham dress more than I like the doll. I think the one in the gold disco outfit is pretty but still doesn't look like Margot. Mattel has become such a cheap company. $75 for a car?? $50 for dolls that don't look like the actresses? Maybe $30 but not $50, I won't buy the disco one until it goes way down, if it doesn't I haven't lost anything. I love your rerooted doll she is very pretty. We in the military have a saying "F' them if they can't take a joke" anotherwords the crap you went through with your friend is not worth the aggravation. The one who rerooted on your doll is a true friend so move on, lessen learned. Some people are true friends others are not. I had a similar situation with a former friend, it's sad that I cared more about the friendship than she did. I am ok with it because she is the way she is. I don't agree with everyone and certainly don't want to hear people talk about their political views unless I ask. Families have gotten into arguments over others political views and I think that is stupid to fight and not want to associate with a friend or family member because you don't agree on something, not worth it. I appreciate and like your honest reviews of the dolls. I may not agree with everything you say but I can respect your thoughts and feelings about your love for Barbie. Most people can't believe I have over 300 Barbies or why I have them but i don't care if they think it's a waste or whatever they think. Barbie and Integrity dolls make me happy. My husband is amazed my dolls are in great condition and that I take care of them. My husband even tried to help me find the Barbie with Down syndrome. There are extremes on both sides who ruin it for everyone. People used to be fine with having friends who had different politics.
