Great job...but a friendly tip? Pure acetone takes off all the makeup far easier than paint thinner. I literally take off face paint on one doll in about 20 seconds. And it is perfectly safe on the rubber
Even if you don’t wash it off, it won’t. It is like alcohol in that it evaporates off. If you leave it on PLASTIC, it will corrode and melt plastic. But soft rubber it will not damage. I’ve repainted Barbie dolls and fashion dolls for years. Never had the vinyl of a fashion dolls head messed up by acetone.
Ahh, your repaints are so beautiful, love how you do the natural and soft look! You deserve way more subscribers, you're so talented omg! New subscriber here! So glad we came across your channel :) ❤️❤️❤️
I recommend to try pure acetone if it is available where you live. It works much better.👍🏼 Be sure to test on the back of the head to make sure it doesn’t damage the doll.
Laila’s Creative Corner! If the dolls head is made of soft rubber, it will not damage it. The rest is simple. Just squeeze the head. If the head squishes in your hand, it is rubber and will not be affected by the acetone
Hello 👋 my name is Lesley and I have a very important question. I’ve been looking high and low for a particular doll that resembles my daughter but I’ve had no luck finding them at the stores or online until I stumbled across a beautiful photo of a Native American doll that resembles my daughters features so I thought I’d ask do you do special requests for doll paintings? I’m willing to pay. Thank you I love your work 😊.
Hi loved this tutorial but heres a tip acetone takes the original makeup off reaalllly quick u barlwy even have to do and wiping and its safe to usr on dolls
Me too, I can only draw circles. Bbut you can do it too after 1000 RU-vid videos, figuring out the best paint and brushes for you to use and practice, practice, practice (on cheap flea market dolls). I painted a few dolls recently to practice for one that I want to give away. And I'm pretty pleased with the result.
Hi! I am starting this beatiful activity, and I would like to know if there is any safer way to seal the doll after the repaint. I have Me Super Clear , but as there ar so many warnings about how harmful it is, can you recommend any other sealant? By the way this doll is beautiful!
I used mr superclear for a lot years and all dolls are perfect! For the use always use a MASK and glsses and do it OUTDOORS. I use a balcony or go the garage and go after! :)
Why did you turn on the straightener if it has to be cold to straighten the hair? I use the lowest setting when I straighten my dolls from the early 90’s hair.
My iron don't have levels, so I turn on and then when is hot I turn off. If I use it when is still on I will burn the hair. it needs some time to bee hot but not too hot!
Not all the acetone are the same. I can´t speak for all of them but they could leave the surface gross and then difficult to paint it again. Personally I use always Thinner.
