Which is totally true. I did some research and although I can neither confirm nor deny the valid of the information, it seems to be factual. What I found is as follows “In the fashion industry, "plus size" is a term for models who are size 8 and up.”, is said in an article by Cosmopolitan. And I am a male so I was unsure of how “big” a size 8 is. So I looked further and discovered that in around the 1950’s women’s dress sizes were standardized. For the measurements of a size 8 dress, the waist measure was only 23.5”. For those who don’t know, 23” is a fairly standard size in my opinion. Now take this how you like, and I know my comment isn’t going to do anything to make this change. But America really needs to change its unrealistic expectations of people. When a size 8 woman finds out that she’s “plus-sized”, it could be really disheartening. And we all know that this can push people to the edge with becoming thinner to fit the “ideal” shape. Soooo, yea.
