Barbon Hillclimb 13th July 2024 - Doug's Shed Vs Gus's Garage Round 2 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 

Liverpool Motor Club's hillclimb at Barbon Manor (Cumbria) on 13th July 2024. Angus let me double enter in his 1987 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 (again).
Very good sized entry for the event and the weather stayed (mostly) dry.
This was the first time I had driven at Barbon and was only the second time I had driven the Peugeot. First timed run was a very respectable 32.75 seconds, which matched the eventual class winners (Lotus Sunbeam) practice time. There was a light rain shower for practice two but it dried up for the timed competition runs. We got 3 competition runs and my fastest time was 30.83 seconds which was good enough for 2nd place in the class. Angus had a best time of 32.33 seconds for 4th place. Lots of very nice and varied cars were at the event including Austin Seven Specials competing in the Bert Hadley Memorial Championship for these pre-war cars. Class 6 for road cars 1962 to 1994 had a good selection including the Peugeot 205 GTI, Triumph TR7 V8, MG Midget, Talbot Lotus Sunbeam, Mini Clubman Estate, Mini saloon, Clan Crusader, Ford Escort Mk2, Lotus Seven Series 4, Triumph Stag, Triumph Vitesse and a Volvo Amazon.
