That's why I love time attack & hill climb. The vehicles are usually someone's vision thanks to the loose rules & numerous classes instead of a tightly regulated field of similar cars like in a lot of other forms of racing.
@@gombka1144 100%. I still watch because I love great driving ability as well as sweet race cars, but your right I have been noticing that it's been for the driving a lot more than the cars lately.
The Lotus Exige is seriously impressive with a bone stock engine, ran a better time than a race prepped 500+ hp Ford Fiesta with 4wd. The driver and car are both next level
6R4 bi turbo is defo my favourite, possibly my all time favourite on this channel (which is saying a helluva lot!) I've always had a soft spot for the 6R4, definitely the best sounding and craziest looking of the Group B racers.
Some very nice cars here.Spooner's 205 is unbelieveably stable and runs so good with that much power going through front wheels-if there was no rain he'd be higher.Last car,the SBR Chrono V8,a true abomination,is exact reason why i like hillclimb and time attack more than any other motorsport because you see cars that are really turned up to eleven and taken to insane performance levels and make GT and WRC cars look bleak.Well done on organizing an event with elimination style.
Beautiful looking and sounding cars. The highlights for me the red Fiesta looks like a well sorted machine. The 6r4 is always amazing. I'm not an audi guy but that r8 has a great look to it.
That R8 looks like a real handful. Some fantastic machines in action, great to see. I think the little Lotus is probably my fave of this video, 780kg is ridiculously light. Super stuff.
@@lukestewart238 the WRX has a hood scoop which feeds air into the intercooler to make more power. The FMIC as said above is a front mounted intercooler. They take the intercooler from on top of the engine and move it behind the front bumper where there is much better airflow. Usually, people do this and keep the now useless hood scoop for style. Those in search of maximum performance remove the hood scoop because it effectively works like a wall sticking out of the hood now, creating a lot of drag.
@@jareknowak8712 even though the 4g63 is a better engine I love my ej257 for a daily use. The real winners use awd turbo Honda civics that look stock but are running 47lbs of boost.
@@lukestewart238 So turbocharged Subarus use an intercooler for the turbo that is mounted above the engine, below the scoop on the hood. Hyoid to keep the intercooler clear & undamaged during rally's, but in a road racing or hill climb environment the aftermarket front mount intercooler is installed in the bumper to aid with cooling. After you do so the scoop on the hood is now pointless and only hurts the car by creating air resistance (drag). Tried to explain simply lol, hope it helps if u were serious.
The 6R4 is the new outright closed car record holder for Shelsley as it set a 27.89 in the final meeting of the year in September a month after the Quick 60 was held 👍👌😊😊
THAT R8 is what DREAMS are made of... maybe Nightmares if you were in the passenger seat lol... Edit: I know, it probably doesn't have a passenger seat that was a joke.
