I was there! Once in a lifetime moment. You can't really hear it in this video, but when she sang, "I've come home at last," the audience erupted. I got chills then, and I do now every time I think of that moment.
I’m currently reading her memoirs - she recalls that she nearly dropped dead of fear when she made her entrance to sing this song! You’d never know it - she sounds and acts as if she’d been performing live throughout her career.
My woman's singer, it fills me full as a woman as she sings....one of the best female songstress the world had made.....Barbra Streisand, one and only.
@@jdpatrick1106 WOW - you must be the single person on the planet most in need of a fuck!! What an uptight asshole!!!! That's MY OPINION - just as Marc voiced his

I love. Barbra s Good bye song ,but my son died as he laid there and I didn t have chance to say good bye before he passed away... My mom said never say "Goodbye ,but say "So long"
@shirleyfunte3063. Your comment just broke my heart Shirley. There is no such thing as closure Shirley, but I trust that in time you will still enjoy life and learn how to live with the constant pain.
The one and only Barbra Streisand. Unparalleled, from singing to acting, directing and songwriting. She’s truly mastered her craft as a singer, as an actress , a songwriter, as a director, on Broadway, etc, she’s the most awarded woman performer as an actor/singer / in the business. Nobody can pull this woman down. She’s exceptionally talented.
The best female voice of her generation. And it comes natural. Unbelievable. Once they asked her whom she listened to and was inspired by when she was a teenager, and she waited for a moment and she answered: "Nobody, really. I never listen to music." This is the talent of a generation.
Babs did it her way! I remember my dad buying me the VHS tape of Fanny Brice Funny Girl. He knew how much I loved her. I had posters plastered up on my wall. Patty Duke, Melanie and Babs. Music was something my dad and I shared. We liked all the show tunes and he even liked the folk singers I'd sing along with. I believe she started out on Broadway-- I wished she'd go back and make one of her life.
@@mistermann7779 no..it's not just a question of "power" of the voice,it's more than anything else a question of the magical and unique tone/sound of her voice.
@@christophepena2212 magic? Not. Conviction is key here. Barbra merely recorded the song. Betty became the character in the play, and her conviction as the hasbeen actress resonates in her delivery of the song.
I had tickets to this tour! I had no car and it was too far so I scalped them on Ebay. An incredible disappointment that i wasn't able to see it live! Thank God for HBO!
I saw her live twice. Both times in Toronto She was great but in following her for 50 years her voice has weekend and I sometimes wondered if she was going to make those high notes. I Love her
Her voice is as beautiful as she is. I grew up until I was 10 listening to her musical hits, to that point, when my mom would put on on a record of Barbara Streisand’s on the basement record player and blasted those hits..thanks for sharing her with me mom! ❤️
never a voice as barbra she will be here for ever she has this gift she is the one no one obviously there are more and many shes one of them the greatest eternaly just listen to her
I’m Australian and was in London and paid every cent I had to see that concert. I never thought it would happen in my life time. Even today I regard it was one the greatest experiences of my life. I will never forget it.
Remember watching this with my mother on television. She didn't like Streisand, she always she gave her a headache (….). But watching this concert she was smiling all the way through. "I have to admit - that that was great,"she said at the end. And it was.
manic hairdo I feel sorry for you that you don't hear and therefore feel what many people experience when listening to Barbra. Of course if she doesn't grab you, she doesnt...who as an artist moves you? Just curious.
Wuuuuuuuuao Barbra es Barbra no hay ninguna cantante femenina que la supere es y será por siempre la mejor en él mundo tiene demasiado talento la amooooo la amaré por siempre
I love this video, my favorite singer, my favorite song and it is possible to see the wonderful maestro Marvin Hamlisch behind her, through the window.
Don't know why I'm frightened I know my way around here The cardboard trees, the painted scenes, the sound here Yes a world to rediscover, But I'm not in any hurry And I need a moment The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways, The atmosphere as thrilling here as always Feel the early morning madness Feel the magic in the making Why everything's as if we never said goodbye I've spent so many mornings Just trying to resist you I'm trembling now You can't know how I've missed you, Missed the fairy-tail adventures In this ever-spinning playground We were young together I'm coming out of make-up The lights already burning, Not long until the camera's will start turning And the early morning madness And the magic in the making Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye I don't want to be alone that's all in the past, This world's waited long enough, I've come home at last! And this time will be bigger, And brighter than we knew it So watch me fly, we all know I can do it Could I stop my hand from shaking? Has there ever been a moment with so much to live for? The whispered conversations in overcrowded hallways, So much to say not just today but always We'll have early morning madness We'll have magic in the making Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye Oh, please don't ever ever make me say goodbye
