Here after Paris 2024. As beautiful as Paris was, having the athletes singing and dancing all together in Barcelona was priceless. This was so emotional. Still my favourite. Childhood memories❤❤❤❤
I still think Barcelona's ceremonies are the best ones in history.... The fact it changed the the paradigm of how Olympic ceremonies are, put them in the top of the Olympic ceremonies for ever!!!
@@saxual227 Best lighting was Atlanta when THE GREATEST battled through Parkinson's disease to light it. Barcelona didn't even tell people what was happening in other languages like EVERY other Olympic Ceremony did.
Io c'ero.
The rumba catalanà performance at the end was astonishing. Barcelona had the best ceremonies for sure. I watched this as a kid and loved and rewatched now as an adult and am even more impressed
The four languages heard in the announcements: 1. Catalan (language of the region) 2. Castilian Spanish (language of the host country) 3. French (official language of the International Olympic Committee) 4. English (official language of the International Olympic Committee)
I still recall an Australian commentator stating that "this is the most breath-taking finale to ANY event, Olympic or otherwise, in the history of this planet!!" I totally agree. I dont think a closing ceremony has been bettered. Barcelona gave the world a true spectacular.
I cannot see anything but perfection in this. Wow. La Feste del Foc is pure magic pure surrealism. A dream. Super modern having in mind this happened in 92. Awesome.
Remember seeing this when I was 9. So blown away by it. Still am. The best closing ceremony ever for an Olympic Games - 1:18:57 this orb show was the best.
LA MEJOR CEREMONIA DE CLAUSURA DE UNA OLIMPIADA HERMANANDO CON ALEGRÍA Y FELICIDAD A LOS PUEBLOS DEL MUNDO...POR MÁS FIESTAS COMO ESTA , EL MUNDO LAS NECESITA! 💃💃💃
The 90's vibe, colours, dances, Reebok's. Just love it. This is the first time Bosnia and Herzegovina competed while back at home a full scale war was going on and Sarajevo, another Olympic city, was under siege and terror. 💔
Muchas gracias, Barcelona 🇪🇸! (1992) Over to you, Atlanta 🇺🇲! (1996) What a phenomenal Olympics that was in 1992. I graduated from school that year! Great memories! Thank you for sharing! 👍😁😁😁💕👏👏👏👏👏
We are used to switch between catalan and spanish even in the same conversation. If I need to talk about numbers, I usually speak in catalan (mentally I do maths in catalan too) and if I'm angry or stressed, or looking for a solution to a problem, I usually think and speak in spanish. So it's only natural than switching even to other languages is easier if you already think in two different languages
technically Spanish is the 2nd language of the US and I've never been to Los Angeles, but I think it's pretty commonly used over there. So technically this wouldn't have been the last time
One of the top best perfect Summer Olympics along with Seoul 1988, I’ve only seen four perfect Olympics (Seoul 1988, Barcelona 1992, Lillehammer 1994 and PyeongChang 2018), I attended the Closing Ceremony of PyeongChang 2018. Every Olympic fan should attempt to attend a ceremony in person.
Since the IOC declared on march 24th that the Tokyo games were postponed untill next year, the olympic channel has been releasing on each monday a full upscaled video of an opening or closing ceremony of a past olympiad. So far we had: -30th of march: PYEONGCHANG 2018 (Opening) -6th of april: SYDNEY 2000 (Opening) -13th of april: TORINO 2006 (Opening) -20th of april: PYEONGCHANG 2018 (Closing) -27th of april: ATHENS 2004 (Opening) -4th of may: BARCELONA 1992 (Opening) -11th of may: NAGANO 1998 (Opening) -18th of may: ATLANTA 1996 (Opening) -25th of may: SALT LAKE CITY 2002 (Opening) -1rst of june: Airing cancelled without explanations (It was scheduled to be the SEOUL1988 Opening) -8th of june: SEOUL 1988 (Opening) -15th of june: SYDNEY 2000 (Closing) -22nd of june: BARCELONA 1992 (Closing) What are your bids for the ceremony we'll get on the 29th of june?
@@joancarlestomas I don't know how or why such a cancellation gives any forms of solidarity with any movement at all... I'm pretty sur nobody inside the BLM movement is even aware this cancellation even happened...
The 1992 Atlanta skyline looked different in that presentation. The Bank of America Plaza and the SunTrust Plaza weren't built. And the Georgia Dome was just getting started. One thing that I also noticed was the WTBS transmitter tower in the middle of Midtown Atlanta.
1:02:52 In my point of view, one of the most iconic moments of the Barcelona 92 Closing Ceremony: The first appearance of the Atlanta 96 Olympic mascot.
Buscalo.
In memorian a PERET.

Barcelonatienepoder!!!! Barcelona tiene Poder!!!! Barcelona es Poderosa, Barcelona tiene Poder!!!!! Grande España, Grande Barcelona, Juegos Olimpicos Inolvidables!!!
Demons? I understand some parts of Spain mostly in village have them their names of some i know are: (I'm going to explain it in Spanish because is difficult for me but you can traduce it if you are interested) "El Colacho"l azota con un rabo de buey a los vecinos después del recorrido se prepara un altar de flores en el que se situan recién nacidos y salta sobre ellos, el simboliza al diablo y salta por encima de los bebes para librarlos de todo mal y pecado. "L@s carantoñas", un vecino lleva un tambor al amanecer para levantar a los que se prepararán de estos diablos en sus manos llevan ramos secos de acebuche o olivo don't remember much the ritual and the ceremony but is beautiful and there are more demons and traditions in other parts.

AQUEL AÑO FUE LA MEDALLA MÁS IMPORTANTE DE COLOMBIA EN TODOS LOS TIEMPOS: EL BRONCE EN 400 METROS DE XIMENA RESTREPO, MÁS QUE CUALITATIVAMENTE HABLANDO EL ORO DE PAJÓN Y DE URRUTIA Y ALGUNOS DICEN QUE DE CATERINE IBARGUEN DE RIO 2016.
And I thought Sydney had an impressive way of doing Olympic fireworks wow 1:23:00 into this Barcelona makes what Sydney did in its ceremony look pedestrian so much interesting stuff with fireworks they probably had a whole Pyrotechnics squad check this over before doing anything or did it themselves because it’s too dangerous for volunteer performers to go anywhere near it
RaymondHng correct although I can say that they began that display at the stadium and then it went up the river from the Olympic site to the harbour 15kms away yes that is strange considering that they stopped the video right when the RAAF Plane reaches the bridge so could have continued with the broadcast as the IOC are blacking out people’s uploads to upload it themselves.I don’t know why they’re omitted in the 2000 closing ceremony video on this channel although I think you’ll find that the broadcast display is set to music and the sound isn’t great so maybe that’s why they cut it. I did see the display in the original broadcast..As Sydneysider myself fireworks on Sydney harbour are one of the best sites in the World.I’ve been by the harbour for New Year’s Eve display and it was an amazing place to be at the start of a year and they were good but as far what they do with the fireworks here this is amazing I just got to see this ceremony now at the time of these games I was 7 years old lol
@Jory World Really I bet it dwarfs to your experience even Sydney’s New Year fireworks? I’ve been lucky to be on the Harbour for one New year display it was fantastic the last one they did with a bridge effect on the bridge these days it's pretty plain these days compare to when I got to see it in 2013/14
