When we were in Barcelona, one of the free tours that we joined was the Historical Walking Tour, which took us around the city's historic center - the Gothic Quarter. Some of the attractions along the way are the Barcelona Cathedral, Sant Felip Neri Square, the Jewish quarter and the Roman ruins.
You can definitely do the walking tour on your own. But if you want to get important insights about the monuments and landmarks, you can join a guided free walking tour. These guided walks are tip-based, so you will decide how much to pay for the service you received. The tour normally lasts two to three hours.
