Sporting wise, Barca won the title in 22/23, and haven't finished outside the top 2 in over a decade. For context, clubs like Liverpool have been seen as doing well on the pitch, yet in the last three seasons they finished 2nd, 5th, and 3rd(last season) Football media is all about narratives, not facts. Arsenal finish 2nd 3 seasons in a row and they're the new powerhouse. Barça finish 2nd last season and it's a HORRIBLE season.

@@footballhipstertv Those teams have way lower expectations tho, Arsenal have never been a UCL winner and hasn't been a league champions in 2 decades. Liverpool had 30 years of pain with the odd big title since the Premier League rebrand. Success for Barça is winning everything and at least being a top 3-4 team in the world. They haven't really been that lately. Like Messi said after we won 8/11 league titles and 4 UCS in 13 yr. We won't know how good we've had it until now. And funny enough that success was still not enough for the fans, board and media.

Madrid alone are tied with ALL of the English clubs that have won the CL, then there's Barca with 5 of their own to add to the list. Even at the lower levels like the EL, Sevilla dominates the competition. You really shouldn't confuse competition/entertainment value with quality

Laporta is reviving the club by reducing the expenses, the wages and still signing star players on free transfers while being wise on the expensive investments. He is also counting on la masia and bringing a coach who has top level experience. All this while maintaining a winning culture in all the other sports sections of the club which is something most clubs don't. He managed to rescue the club before, he is trying and so far doing well again.

To be fair, Laporta biggest L *pales* in comparison with the previous president, Bartomeu. If the former can fix the massive 'legacy' left by the latter and somehow be more profitable than any 2 clubs of EPL Big Six at least, then Camp Nou may as well be renamed Laporta Stadium for good.

Also I knew that you made this for a while but our salary has been up to 2nd largest with over 423 million lol. Plus the Nike deal is coming and the opening of Camp Nou like you say, we are looking at around over 400 milion Euro just through those two alone. Also a little side note regarding the new Laliga salary cap, Sevilla's salary cap is fucking 2 MILLIONS. Like yes, look those up, they have exactly 2,49 million Euro in their salary budget lol. Problem isn't salary cap, it's the fact that LaLiga changed rules 6 months after Barca generated over 900 mil euros via levers and practically erased all that money from books and forced Barca to find other ways of generating money in next summer. They did that just to make life as hard as possible for Barca. And fun fact LaLiga did not change rules in 2006. when Real Madrid sold 100% (not just 25% as Barca did, but everything) of their TV rights for 7-8 years. Also we have problem that english teams can spend as much as they want, and they will maybe break 115 rules and will probably get no punishment other than like 50-100 mil euros, which is nothing for Saudi owners. Same thing goes for PSG. PSG broke all FPP rules and UEFA found them guilty, and what was punishment?? Nothing. UEFA just told them they have 5 years to fix it. Problem is not salary cap, problem is that it only exist in Spain. Only in Spain you can't register players if LaLiga thinks that you will break rules. If that was case in every other league, I promise you half of Premier league team would not be able to register their players.

Totally careless, but the women's team were still much better. They got 3 Champions Leagues in just only 3 years and had an insane perfect La Liga season at around some point, something the entirety of men's football didn't have. Also, some of those players were from Spain that won the last year's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

@@brianmckee2267 in the last 11 years, Atletico won 2, Real won 4, Barca won 5. During those years 7/11 champions leagues were won by La liga and 7/11 Europa leagues were won by La liga. It is BY FAR the best and most competitive league in the world. Everyone else just picks up their crumbs.
