Can you do a video of that room, what’s behind the screen, speaker placement in the room treatments etc, looks like a nice build

I was watching your video. Do the feet adjust? I’ve tried to unscrew them and when the weight of the projector is put on them they sink back into the projector. Is there a nut lock on it that is supposed to hold it in place?

How does it compare to the Sony Raptor?

I have been worried about having speakers flank the screen like that and the screen frame blocking the direct sound from the speakers. Had the speakers right up to the fabric panels to avoid the screen frame being in front of them in my last build. What are your thoughts, does it not make that much difference? Do you work on the fact that if all seats can see the tweeter directly your fine and any deflected sound off the frame will be absorbed by the treatment behind the screen?

Hi, thanks for the question. Spot on, what you see is bad. This screen in the video was a temporary install (while we waited for the new 160” CinemaScope) The new screen covered all the speakers inc the main left / right.
@RogueHomeCinema
@RogueHomeCinema 3 года назад
Screen seen here is a solid 110” The new screen is 160” AT (acoustic transparent) micro perforated Importantly viewers >3500mm from screen and speakers > 200mm behind screen. Result is a blend of sound and picture that’s totally seamless. Yes the screen even a high end Screen innovations takes a small notch from the sounds too end, good thing is - this can be EQ rather well. Result - better than tryn to flank around a 160” that’s for sure And of course the “talk” (sound) comes from the “teeth” (Picture)

Would be interested in your comparison of the Bragi vis-à-vis the JVC NX-9 and Sony laser models. Thanks!

Got the Sony Laser in here too. Just gotta get it calibrated too. It’s good, Bragi better. Will share more in detail shortly.

Went to IMAX Melbourne last week, worlds largest IMAX screen. Man, RGB laser projection! Certainly puts a reference point to on things. It’s my “calibration point” puts even the best Barco / Sony units to perspective. It’s the closest I have to a Barco Thor...

@@RogueHomeCinema well Barco does also supply the laser light sources for the laser IMAX theaters around the globe ;-) www.barco.com/en/News/Press-releases/New-agreement-between-IMAX-and-Barco-to-further-collaborate-on-cutting-edge-laser-light-source-techn.aspx

@@JimmyPage9 certainly do, my reference cinema is IMAX Melbourne, dual RGB laser projectors on the worlds largest IMAX screen 105ft wide! It has some wild power up around (maybe more ) 28ftL output. Most impressive. Check out my podcast/ RU-vid with the Barco team, we go deep into various tech. 👍

Lens porn!! Wow what an absolute beauty! I’d love to demo the Balder. Traditionally I’m susceptible to RBE with single chippers but I’d like to try one without a color wheel like this one.
@RogueHomeCinema
@RogueHomeCinema 3 года назад
Big reason we went this unit is no color wheel. Odd as I had to forgo power, that’s usually not me lol. we shot this video about 6 weeks ago, and I’ve watch a lot of content since. It’s a stunner. Zero Rainbow, And even though we pushed it to 160” (with a 1.3 gain screen) The dynamics (with a Lumagen radiance pro for HDR / DTM control) are very satisfactory. We got just under FULL P3/ DCI color. With great dynamics. Many units suffer big time with wide color while offering dynamics too. My heart is usually hung up on audio.... right now it’s the Barco Bragi.

@@RogueHomeCinema That’s fantastic to hear! Those units can have terrific ANSI. Native not so much but I can’t say on the Bragi until I see for myself. Sounds like a great balance and wow those optics!
@RogueHomeCinema
@RogueHomeCinema 3 года назад
@@jarodreddig63 the black level only lags when it’s a super dark low light scene, with not much happening. Then well, there is not much to look at. But any image with even 10% light on black looks spectacular. Then ANSI contrast with precision optics = real resolution in screen. Second month in, and many scene still continue to wow me. I’ll spill all the beans on another video review soon. So cool stiff this thing can do.

Can confirm, color wheel can get annoying. I have a venue Mitsubishi UD8400U projector and when I flick my eyeballs around, I can see the colors separating. Drives me nuts!
@RogueHomeCinema
@RogueHomeCinema 2 года назад
The higher end units have way less issues - but - it is still an issue for some. Away with the color wheel and onto RGB light is the future for sure
