Bard Tips & Tricks [Pro Analysis]

As a Bard main I can say some useful tips: At 5 chimes your meeps slow the enemy, at 10 you get the second meep and at 15 you get the expansive wave for your meeps. Picking up chimes will restore some mana, be sure to put some heal altar before picking up a chime having full mana. Your chimes will appear near your position, so stay near your lane's JG in the first minutes of the game. The worst thing is chimes appearing in the enemy jungle or under their turrets. I also recommend buying boots in the first back to base, doing that allows you to roam faster and coming back to you lane faster from picking up chimes. Twin Shadows is a great item for Bard, it allows you to hit better your ultimate and to possibly reveal enemies nearly when picking up chimes. You also can try Electrocute for burst damage and good trades in lane, as your basic attack with meep counts as 2 hits and you can do AA + Q and that should activate the rune. Spell book is a good option too, I highly recommend PolyPuff's video about Spellbook Bard and every Bard video in his YT channel. Remember not to buy RFC please.

Good bard: poke, heal, dps, engage, disengage, facilitate ganks, roam, stop dives, make dives happen and alot alot more. Bad bard: is a 6th player on the enemy's team.

Whenever I come here to learn a champion, I feel like the whole concept of understanding from the worlds best player who uses (champion) becomes unnecessary.

¿When to do roaming?: 1- 2- 3- 4- When you ADC is useless.

I was meaning to play bard too after watching Polypuff's bard. The ult before the going into portal is a nice tech that I didn't know about. There's always something to learn in your videos. Keep up the good work!

Three more tips: -You can screw up bard’s E very easily with odd angles. The portal will then just be super short. There are various spots where it can commonly happen -At least use your E on both smart cast and normal cast (E / Shift+E) it will always show you when you will get the longest portal -If you dont know when to use bard’s ult, dont use it at all in teamfights. It can be used to catch people off after the teamfight. TL;DR USE YOUR ULT WHEN YOURE 110% SURE OF IT

Hey: I picked up Bard recently and thought about other additional tricks for Bard: 1. You can intentional let Chimes near your lane stay around to pick them up after using mana in lane. 2. Stack E's when you come from lane/are full mana anyway or when you are about to pick up chimes while being at almost full mana anyway 3. Look where chimes are placed for future rotation, so you can chain 3-5 chimes when going to certain locations (enhanced roam potential) 4. You can use the Alcove to portal to your own tower in case of being ganked (practice early, because it's not easy to place) 5. Ult enemy Jungler when objective fights happen, so your jungler can safe smite it 6. Sometimes when you join a skirmish later and you ult the 1v1 or 1v2 to help your ally, you can pre-cast w underneath your frozen ally, so they get instant guardian shield and speedboost, once your ult ends :)

I have like 120k on Bard, i love this champ so much, might be the only reason i play support, also you guys have to try electrocute on him very easy to proc Q + AA + Passive, also i learned some tricks from this video, i didn't knew u can E from that long distance it's just amazing, keep up the good work!

This is why I like this channel, it's more of what a guide is suppose to be, not just a video about pro players talking during a game, it's harder to explain how to play a champ if a certain event isn't occuring, while in these types of videos not only that it is short, but you can go on custom and or get the best clips to explain a champion's skills. These ~10 minutes videos are more educational than rest of proguides, skillcapped and ULTIMATE guides. I just started to play much better on Irelia and Yasuo immediately after watching your videos. I have also much better awareness of what champions can do when I face them. Keep going! Awesome work.

As I bard main i also want to contribute to some tips and tricks. One thing I noticed that it didn't really cover was shrine placement. Place them depending on the situation, for example if pushed at tower at bot lane you can place your shrine at a 45 degree in front of tower by wall - just within tower range. When the enemy comes up to steal, just stun them. The point is, you can bait stuns with your shrines. Its amazing how fights will break out over a shrine as if it is a mini objective. You can bait your ultimate with your shrines as well. Even if you are far, place a shrine down and ward it. You can also bait your ultimate with pink wards. Then, just tunnel you and your team to them. Also, placing them on things like Jhin's traps or teemo shrooms also works very well. ...and shrines can be early warning systems. Place them in bush and other paths. They do not give vision, but if its missing and your team didn't take it... Lastly you can create a turbo escape route for you or adc by lining your shrines up sequentially but spaces out enough to only utilize one speed boost at a time.

I kid you not I was going to request a bard video today. I got autofilled mid lane against a nunu. I picked bard because I thought he would have better sustain early and could roam just as well. Turns out it actually does really well against nunu. This vid also helped me figure out when to roam. It's something I've struggled with for a while so I really appreciate the help!

Why dont you mention the Electrocute bard runes? they can be very powerful early on getting triggered by aa(Passive) Q you also can have 3 W's placed and still use W directly on allies without one of the 3 disappearing

Bard looks so OP when you show him this way, I only wish the bard players I meet were better at roam timing lol Honestly, whenever my supp locks bard, I always lock a very safe adc, like ezreal or xayah, bc who knows if I’ll be left to do a 1v2 the whole lane? Bard and Yuumi are the two supps I never really know how to play with. I never know if they’re just gonna lean on me all game and wait for me to scale, or if they’re going to roam to mid constantly, or if they’re just gonna hard int it by 5 mins

Have been maining Bard for a while now, thank you for these tips!

As a Bard main I appreciate your video, even I got a couple of useful tips to use (like ulting before going into tonnel). Another thing that I would add is how important sometimes your chimes collecting management might be. You get a powerspike every 5 chimes so it's a good thing to keep in mind whenever you want to roam. I always think how many more chimes i need to hit the next buff and sometimes make a route depending on this. Also, the more chimes you collect the faster you go (up to 5 stacks) so it's always better to look for an optimal way to get somwhere a little faster. The last thing about chimes is that they serve as a mana source for you, so if you are about to collect some of them and your mana is full, use your W so you don't waste the mana from the chimes. Always make sure that you use your mana to its fullest before going to collect chimes. If you optimise your chimes collecting management, you can litteraly stay on lane with almost full mana and hp for at least half the lane phase.

Ingenious hunter is also a strong rune on bard since he loves actives like redem, crucible, revere and it lowers cds of sweeper and normal wards. Keep up the amazing work!

As a Bard main, I LOVED this! Only thing I do different regarding runes is take ingenious hunter so I can use my items and trinket more often and take attack speed runes so clearing wards takes less time. Thank you for this video ❤️

So, I am by no means a support player, but your videos are so well made I just watch them even though I know I won't end up playing the champion.

E + flash is a thing too. E have a very small animation that can be cancelled with a flash if you go into the portal. So basically you go into a portal instantly, without need to wait few frames which is nice to escape. If you like to play Bard aggressively (electrocute and full AP stuff for example), I recommended to always keep a wall where you can E behind you. Without E Bard doesn't have any escape and can be squishy, so positioning is key with aggressive Bard.

Bard main here, something extra is that you can put up to 4 heals, 3 entire heals and one that needs to be used at the moment of putting the heal, is useful in roaming for a little extra speed

A tip from an mono bard (me haha) is to, if u played him enough, u can try to aim your ult as so the board of it gets your enemy that its following you (or any ally) or the other way around.It's pretty comum that this can save someone even though the two champions are really close. Another tip is to, if there's tension to an teamfight 4x4 or 5x5 (most common ones) hitting everyone can easily change the fate of the fight for your team. That's because firstly you'll get an insta double stun with your Q (hit adcs/mid) and secondly your team will be able to position themselves whereever them wanted to and shoot abilities before the oponents. Every teams normally has someone that can take an really good advantage of this, like Ekko's E and R, Vladmir's ult, etc.

As someone who hasn't played league in a long time anymore, I still like to keep track of it. This channel explains so well and is fun to watch. My question is why is there no explaining of collecting chimes? Ia it not important anymore?

Some tips from bard main closing 1mil points: There is a point blank range on which it is impossible to merely walk out of it for champions without high speed or moby boots. It is around the distance from t1 tower on bot to where the minions meet. Also there is long portal from midlane t3 to blue buff, which is pretty long and wasn't covered. I also quite like to ult the wave and kill the opponent who starts tanking the turret:) Enemy caster minions in the sides are your best friends during lane phase to land unexpected stun on enemy adc
