This song is so nostalgic to me. When a friend of mine and I were really little, my dad used to play this for us in the car. Every time he drove us anywhere, all of us kids would beg him to play the "monkey song". BNL are great

I had the DJ play this at my wedding during the cake cutting. I said this song is dedicated to my wife. It perfectly encapsulates the love I have for her that is otherwise impossible to put into words. And then he played this song. Everyone was rolling!
Was at work and a buddy of mine had his music playing and this song came on and unlocked some memories that were deeply buried but like in a good way good song this is.
I always used to hear this song while listening to the radio on my way to school...that was about 8 years ago, never would have thought that it was barenaked ladies singing it!
Barenaked ladies is one of those bands who rarely come out with a bad song. They aren't offensive either so they can appeal to a wider range of listeners than bands that swear a lot. I hope they keep making music until they're wrinkled old men in wheelchairs.
They broke up way before you posted this. In 2009. Steven left the band because of his drug problem, and without Steven they will never be the same band ever.
Grenadeh I thought they released Odds Are after that. That is seriously tragic. They had so much talent. I know that no band could replace them but I wish there was a current band that had a similar sound.

OH MY GOSH! Many years ago, I heard this on the radio, and for years I wanted to know what the name of it was since it was always stuck in my head! But I only remembered the word "chimpanzee" haha >.< Recently something was telling me it might of been the Barenaked Ladies, and here I am! I am so happy I can finally enjoy this song again! :D

Growing up I use to misinterpret songs that I listened to on the radio. Guess I didn't misinterpret this song even though my mom or dad or brother told be otherwise, at least how I remember it when it was playing on the radio.
