Love these little cheap flips, it’s a great car with a bit more life in it. I think it’s far greener to keep a car on the road rather than build a new one to replace it.

Great video Rob. Watching you dodging the rain reminds me of the time 40+ years ago when I helped my dad replace a rear subframe on a 1964 mini. We stayed in a council flat at the time, on a slight hill, and it was chucking it down, plus since this is the west of Scotland, it was Baltic!,. We had an old fireside rug to lay on, and I remember lying underneath the car helping him to bolt on the new ( second hand from a scrap yard ) subframe. The rainwater was running down the kerbside of the road and here’s me 2 inches away from the kerb lying on my back! Great memories, but please don’t ask me to do it again!! Great job guys, love the channel.👍

Great stuff Rob. My ex-boss bought a new DB7GT and got it absolutely filthy. Muggings was told to fill the tank and give it a wash. So l take her down to Sainbury's, fill the tank, drive back and give the old girl a good scrub. It was so dirty l gave the worst area's a dose of TFR (traffic film remover). Chamoised it down and NOooo! The TFR had eaten into the headlamp glass ! So l did what you did and luckily job done ! The boss comes to take the gleaming DB7 GT and said "well what do think she goes like then " l said quick as a flash "Trevor it' s a 30 limit ! " "correct answer" and shot off into the distance! Well done on the Golf !

Once you have compound/polished the light, get yourself some headlight clear lacquer and do 2 coats, they don't even have to look perfectly clear with the compound and polish, the result of the clear coat makes the light absolutely crystal clear the result is astonishing, also stops it going milky again in the future.

It is amazing how you turn a buckled door/wing round in no time, I really enjoy all the body work stuff as It is something I never got involved with, it always seemed a bit of a mystery to me😎 Now I have an idea what goes on in the other workshops! I think I will have a go at my fog lights, they have milked up like the ones you just did. I'll tell you if I am as bad as I think I am, but you explained it nice and clear and pretty much as you would have got back in college, nice job Rob👍

These Golf’s really do keep their value, bought one last year had a broken gear linkage relay lever which I got replaced at a VW main dealer for £113 in total and bought the car itself at £450. Got it relayed to the garage for £70. Around £635 spent on it, mileage was 168,000 miles with FULL service history, we cleaned the car ourselves and sold it for £2100 and the amount of people we had interested was unbelievable. All in all a nice car and decent profit!

Nice piece on the Headlight deburring Rob, enjoyed that and very traditional method. I personally use Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 which achieves exactly the same result, but you only need a rubbing in cloth for the paste and a buffing cloth - kinda like a T-Cut for Headlights (which would also work) ! Once again, another great vid, keep up the great work!

Another cracking video guys, it just shows what difference a day makes! That will be a cracking little run around for somebody and it just shows what a difference can be achieved with polishing the headlights. I did hear of somebody locally who was charged over £150 each for new headlights for their vehicle as the headlights were cloudy at MOT and the MOT tester told them they couldn’t do anything with them. They asked for the old headlights to be put in the back of the car and you could tell just by looking at the headlight they haven’t even tried to do anything with them!

Headlights that are really bad (I've done mine) you can sand them with p320 on a sander, I've buffed scores out with p120 with a sander and work through the grades up to the p1500, I polished mine but it only lasts so long before they go cloudy again, in the summer I rubbed them down, masked them up and gave them a few coats of Halfords aerosol lawyer and they still look good 😉
