Welcome back to our Honda CM200T Twinstar bargain makeover series!
In Part 2 of our Twinstar transformation, we're going to start by focusing on the rear of this classic 1981 motorcycle, building a sturdy bracket to reinforce the expansive rack on the back of the bike. This custom component will not only strengthen the rack but also add a striking aesthetic detail to our Honda CM200T.
Next, we'll be revisiting our beautiful custom fiberglass seat pan from the last episode. The stock bracket isn't quite right for it, so we'll be modifying the factory seat bracket to ensure a perfect fit. This is an essential step in our customization process, as it ensures the rider's comfort and safety.
Finally, we'll take a step towards improving the overall ride quality of our Twinstar. The stock shocks on the CM200T are a tad undersized for our taste, so we're upgrading them to shocks from a Yamaha XS650. This will not only improve the handling and stability of our Twinstar, but also contribute a distinctive design touch.
So, grab your tools and join us as we take this motorcycle from vintage to vogue! And if you're just joining us, be sure to check out Part 1 of our series, where we started this exciting budget-friendly motorcycle makeover project.
Remember to like, comment and share our journey, and subscribe if you haven't already to stay updated with our progress. Let's get wrenching!

Coming together nicely. There was an old saying when I played guitar in a band and we'd all be tuning our instruments. We'd say, "close enough for rock'n roll" I feel like that could be your motto. Close enough for rock'n roll. : ) Also "Finding Neutral" would be a good name for a band.

Finding neutral is a gray name for a band. 😂😂

I have too many cut-off wheels. I also keep ones that "still have some life in them" that I should really throw out lol

Looking good, I suggest improving the angle of the instruments as its a bit flat.
@motorcyclerewind
@motorcyclerewind Год назад
That’s a good idea. Future mods are for the headlight/gauges and a battery relocation.

Dumb question. Ever run into wheel or steering bearing issues on these classics? Do you clean and repack bearings if possible?
@motorcyclerewind
@motorcyclerewind 7 месяцев назад
Mainly repack. Although I did replace the steering and wheel bearings in the GPz1100. Primarily because I was riding it 3,000 miles cross country. Thanks for watching.

The ones I used were Renthal Pro Taper. Not sure where they were purchased they came with my FREE Kawasaki GPZ1100.
