+ClearVisionMuzik No. DCBE is non functional. Rectal prolapse is the end stage of rectal intussusceptions......starts with mucosal intussusceptions going to lower rectum to proximal anal canal, with further straining it starts becoming full thickness intussusceptions. When it goes into the anal canal it is internal prolapse (rectoanal intussusception), when it goes below the level of the anal verge, it is call extra anal rectal intussuception or rectal prolapse. These are demonstrated readily with a functional examination (the patient is defecating sitting in a commode like in real life).
