Yes, the barley grass juice powder is gluten free. It's the seed of the plant (the barley grain itself) that contains gluten. The grass and hence the juice/juice powder, does not contain gluten. I can assure you of this because both my husband and I are not tolerant of gluten and we consume barley grass juice powder every day. We've had no issues with it. I hope this helps! Hi Nataliya! Thank you for watching and asking your question! I can't say exactly how much barley grass powder would equal the nutrients in barley grass juice powder. You might be able to explore that one using cronometer.com (a free nutrient analysis software). I believe it would be a LOT more barley grass powder. Think of this...when we juice fresh barley grass or fresh wheat grass, we get only a little juice from a lot of the grass. The juice is highly concentrated and loaded with nutrients from the fresh grass. The barley grass powder is simply dried ground up barley grass. That would be nowhere near as concentrated in nutrients. I think your idea of growing fresh barley grass yourself and juicing it is an excellent idea and would save you a lot of money in your situation. Great thinking on that one! Hi Gus! I've tried both. However, I don't buy them for flavor, I buy for nutritional value. The juice powder has WAY more to offer regarding nutritional value, so that's what I normally use. Regarding flavor...that's "subjective" and each person can have a different opinion and personal preference. To me, the barley grass JUICE powder has a wonderful flavor and I prefer that over the barley grass powder. But again, that's just my personal opinion. Regarding the brand...I DO use Micro Ingredients products and I like them. They are well-rated on Amazon, so I'm assuming that means others prefer that brand too. I hope this helps! Hi Zanne! I'd say that the barley grass JUICE powder would have a higher nutrient density than the barley grass powder. Why? Because it takes a lot of grass to produce any amount of juice and the juice would be a concentrated form of nutrients. We would naturally be consuming the "essence" of way more grass by consuming the juice than chewing and swallowing barley grass itself. To get equivalents, we'd have to consume a LOT of barley grass vs the juice. If you have a juicer, you could test this for yourself by juicing a specific amount of barley grass to see how much juice you actually get. Unless you're juicing a LOT of the grass, the yield would be a relatively small amount of juice. Chances are, if you were opting to drink the juice from freshly pressed grass, you would need to press a lot of grass to get even 1/4 to 1/2 cup of juice. So, remember that the grass powder also contains all the fiber, plant cell walls, which the juice powder does not. The fiber is what we ultimately poop out, so it is not used within the body other than to make stool move forward, and possibly feed our gut microbiome (which is not a bad thing). So, if you were to take equal amounts of grass powder vs juice powder (say 2 teaspoons of each), you would get far more absorbable nutrients in the juice powder than you would in the grass powder. I know this is wordy, but I hope it makes sense to you. There is nothing wrong with barley grass powder. But if you want the most nutritional benefit other than the added fiber, I suggest you opt for the JUICE powder. Thanks for watching and asking!
