In this video I continue on the Skoda 105S
I change the fillerneck rubber that has perished after fuel was added in the previous video.
Also I discover a leak in the coolant system that needs to be sorted.
Its nice to be back at this project. The old abandoned barn find Skoda really needs to see the highway soon again.

I really appreciate you taking the time to get some good camera angles and ensuring some good lighting. I think all of those watching your videos, who have experience working on cars, know how little space you sometimes have available to do the actual work, and being able to see what you're actually working on, let alone trying to record it at the same time! You have an incredible patience! Looking forward to seeing more progress :D

Thank you MrToxicSkittle! To my luck, modern cameras are very small! ;)

Back in the 80s I had two Skoda 120Ls and took both all over Europe. A surprisingly solid, simple and reliable little car, though hardly the fastest! I'm not surprised there are quite a lot of them still in daily use after nearly half a century in parts of Europe, like the Czech Republic. There seems to be a whole workshop industry there making parts and keeping them and other old cheap models like the Favorits going - often as affordable transport for less well off younger drivers who often cannot afford the running costs of many modern cars.

They also seems to be very easy to maintain... and cheap... Its really not a bad car at all! :)

I had a 120 and a 130 loved them, in fact the 120 was the first decent car i owned having had enough of rusty and worn out fords, i moved from 10 + years old junk to a 3 yr old low miler,it was bliss.

@@SeasideGarage they were i towed my trailer with them too. Word of caution make sure use full gallon of antifreeze as 21 pints cooling system if it freezes metal pipes fracture under car and many ruined engines thru water loss overheating

glad to see you working on this car again and its really in good shape and you just have the normal issues with barn finds and this is a rare car now and it will be worth it when running again as there are very few left now

I seem to have the same issues at different times, all with one car. After watching the cinq h/g video I got the 242 running and now I've got that milkshake! Just got the fuel leaks sorted! Oil leaks are free rustproofing!

The cinquecento is not broken, just resting... did fuel hose on my cinquecento today, 8mm internal diameter hose at the fuel filter is the size if you need to order any.
@SeasideGarage

...How long does it needs to rest before it no longer makes mayonaise? ;)

@@SeasideGarage my second cinquecento is resting 3 year's with the same problem, in my case it's oil in the coolant 😕 I'm in no rush as it's a project when I have spare money to do it.

Today I took out the rear engine mount as it was making banging noise. Don't know looking at it whether it is broken but it is easy enough to move the center bit which I don't think is supposed to move easily. I will buy a new part and see if the engine is moving less with the new mount.

That seems to be the way with cars that have sat so long, new fluids and pressurised systems reveal where the rubber parts have perished, though I'm still thinking the fuel filler was made worse by ethanol fuel as that eats rubber in no time, whether new or old...

The 105 inches nearer completion - I think I may be as excited as you are to see this back as a runner again ! Has the R5 turbo been sold? I couldn't see it in the background and the Abarth is still there so thats my guess thrown in lol

I was going to say that my 1978 105, for all its MANY faults, never leaked coolant or petrol. Then I remembered that the reason why was because:- 1) I never had enough money to put much petrol in it in the first place 😭 2) the coolant could not leak because it had already mixed with the engine oil due to a warped cylinder head 😡 Strangely, after 30 years, I remember that as being good times.....
