I live in New Zealand and just purchased a MK3 GLi 2.0 with only 77 000 kilometres on the odometer in pristine condition inside and out. Belonged to an old man for the last 20 years that took extremely good care of it. It's so much fun to drive I absolutely adore it.
I had many mk1’s 2’s and 3’s and 4’s along with corrados. Now have an Audi 8p. I still say the mint mk3 gti 8v I had was the best driving. Maybe not the most fun but was a great car to drive in general. . Factory recaros in it! I had numerous mk3’s and yes they rot like mad.
Rust biggest issue with the mk3, i had a 92 K Vento VR6 back in the day, currently have a 97 Mystic Blue VR6 resting on my drive... but needs sill and floor repairs that i'll hopefully get on to this winter 🤞 my two mk2 gtis are solid compared to it, my two mk4s are the same...
Weird time for car values overall. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, has shot up. The days of the £500 car with an MOT are very much gone. That means stuff like this has appreciated even more, riding a bit of a wave of "The end of petrol cars" enthusiast spending, as well as the general overall inflation stuff. Mk3 GTI was my very first car. I was 20 years old and even at that age I remember being wholly underwhelmed at the lack of power it had when I took it for the first test drive.
The 95 VR6 GTI I got put a stupid wide, ear to ear smile on my face that 28 years later is still there. Sadly the 2.slow Mk3 should NEVER have worn the GTI badge.
@@FirstLastOne Yeah, I had a silver Mk3 VR6 about 3 years later. That was a different world. To this day it is still the favourite car I ever owned. I've had newer cars and cars that cost more money but nothing made me smile like the Mk3 VR6.
I used to have a mk3 anniversary 8v and while it was a nice enough car it was soooooooo slow!!!! Used to have the chavs in their 1.4 corsas passing me lol!!!! Strangely was talking about it in work today too. One of my neighbours has a blue mk3 16v anniversary too
Good luck finding a vento for sale. The mk3 are on the up and have been for awhile, Tbh I think if you want cheap I'd go mk4 they will be doing the same soon. Rust underneath sills etc was a mk3 killer. A 16v mk3 anni is the best love the seats, or vento vr6 or golf vr6 in mulberry
You should come and visit me I have 8 mk3s love the bloody things, I have 2 vento vr6, ones a resto project, Also have a 16v ABF swapped vento, I have 2 golf GTi's A 5dr black golf gl A 3dr pink Floyd Also might be buying another vr6 vento too 😅 And a TDI estate 😂👍 but also want to get back I to the JDM market too 👌😁 Anniversary looks like it could be a good one in all honesty.
Hey MAN, i have a golf 3 gti 8v, do u think it s a bad ideea to put an sport air intake on it, i know it will not make a diference in power but i LOVE the sound and a new air intake will ne good
Anniversary spec are rare and numbered build. About the same as a mark 4. Gear knob are hard to fine and the seats design is only Anniversary spec too. Alloys should be sliver. Check photos of the spec and see if it as them all and paper work. Like handbook.
I have a MK3 blue colour concept same year worth between 5 and 7 grand at the moment so yours must be about that mine was 1 of only 1000 in blue and 5000 of all 5 colours (black, red, yellow, green and my blue)made though not sure how many of the anniversary ones they made as that has an affect on price now but a good condition normal GTi is about 4grand so got be at least 5
I'm not sure mk3 values will rise like mk4 anniversary and mk2s have done. It seems an unloved car. That said I would be happy to be wrong since I own a 78k 3 door red 16v gti mk3 with edition recaros. It needed a little welding but nothing too bad. I also own a mk2 16v 3 door in oak green and a corrado vr6 so can certainly get behind the rising price idea.
