so I know you've seen the clip "rust is to a minimum" and where that came from is a guy in New York state and he bought a R32 GTR and got ripped off really bad. he currently has the chassis on a rotisserie he made himself and is taking each panel off piece by piece restoring it. and I'm telling you this because he needs parts where the metal has rotted through and you may have some usable pieces he could repurpose to save his GTR dream car. his name is Kalvin Malli his name is his youtube channel. he is working very hard to put this car back together and if you could give him a little help I know he would greatly appreciate it.
This is a good demonstration of why the weakness and rust develops. I have also heard that the meatal Nissan used had to make the metal pressings for the chassis had impurities that caused them to rust out faster. And Japan seems to have a lot of rain and moisture like Florida. Kevin M's has a different rear quarter panel that these I believe. If you do have any extra painted green metal off the 32 you should make into into key chain fobs and sell them or give them away because it is obviously an old time attack or drift car. You may even be able to find pictures of it and its history.
Come to Washington DC and the surrounding area and these Spanish/Latin/ Koreans/Asia shops are all over the place...... 1 Dedicated MECHANICS the hardest to find HERE. You find a Heavy MOTOR WORKS(Usually Ethiopian,Spanish), Mechanic, a TRANSMISSION Mechanic(usually a Spanish/or American) and then a good FRAME /BODY SHOP(usually Spanish/Korean/Japanese) ...... I have found 3 SHOPS that have all of these combinations....They keep moving AROUND but if you pay, THEY PLAY
Sam can you please go back to the body shop & grab those bricks for me. ill give you $1000 & pay for shipping. This is not a joke. Thanks, from a very desperate Aussie mate.
Okay can someone help me understand something? What is the point of restoring an abandoned R32 when he just bought one in much much better shape than the one he's restoring? Why not restore or build off the parts car that's clearly in better shape??
Hey Sam love the consistent Japanese content ! And dropping the Japanese language quotes like how you end a video is a good idea, be cool to drop some more in as is JDM lovers would like to learn the odd Japanese words. Keep it up mate 🤙
I think u should keep your r33 with 34 front end until the 32 is street car worthy. It would cool to see them side by side bc both them have custom body’s 🔥🔥🔥
Big thing you notice with a lot of the tools these guys are using is that they're pneumatic. A good air supply system can cost a lot but it's so nice using pneumatic tools. Tons of torque, low weight, really durable. A proper air supply system is beyond most people's budget or needs, but even a solid compressor will let you get to work with nice torque gun or hand sander.
You should buy yourself a quality mig welder (a home level one works fine) a disc cutter, some cold chisels and a grinder and go at it. I have built tons of cars without ever having fancy tools, in the UK everything is as rusty as the parts car you showed. My stuff might not be as good as a build costing thousands but it beats being unable to do anything because I either can’t afford the shop bill or they are too busy. My welder is a total POS but has saved me 1000’s
Id love to get cuts around the rear factroy speaker holes from that green shell for my r32 previous owner butchered mine for 6x9s :( shipping would probably be killer back to aus i cant find anything here
sammit here talking about just a bodyshop, must not have been to the US or looked at a body shop in the US if you are trying to compare a backyard bodyshop to something in the US
here in the states we got plently of those mechanics who do good proper work but in not so good environments. i know a guy who does mechanic work in his backyard and has all the equipment he needs to accomplish most maintenance jobs or check engine codes.
every car is designed and built with the same issues they all have the same spotwelds the biggest problem is they dont dip the bodies into a weldthrough primer before they go to paint if they did imply this prosses it would cost a bit but they would loose big in the end because cars would last 10 times longer without rusting away
In the states idk if that body shop would pass osha lol Man that body shop makes me happy where I work. Not saying we are better than them but man that’s wassup
you should put a r34 front end on it so people thinks its a gtr till they see it from the side and see its a four door then go to the front and see a r34 front end on it would look funny but uniqe
