Sometimes we think we know the right path only to be shown that we are really just enjoying the journey. That's how I'm feeling about this Barn Star Sampler Project this week. Things are topsy-turvy and I am having to readjust and change course.
We're going to be mitering the corners of our inside borders after all. After much consternation, I have decided that this will be the right course to take at this time. I'm still not quite sure how the inner borders and the outer blocks are going to match up (and we may need to make changes there as well) but we must continue to move forward.
This weeks video explains how I created the inner border and sewed it onto the center block on two sides. They've been trimmed neatly at 45 degree angles in preparation for the mitering. Now I must make a little more of the inner border to continue the other two sides. Once those four pieces are in place, we can decide about any other borders at that time.
Sometimes, making revisions to an existing pattern are more difficult than just starting from scratch. Join me and we'll figure this out together!
