Ok, maybe it's me and not the math! I've tried to calculate how wide my borders need to be but each time it just doesn't seem to come out right. Instead of enduring more torture, I'm just going to build from the inside out. First, I'm going to add a white border around Diamond Star to make it even larger. Then, I'm going to add a border in either the green or blue fabric - or maybe both - followed by a second white border.
I also have decided to add sashing between the 16" squares. Do you prefer the white, blue or green fabric for that? I think I'm going with white there as well but I would LOVE to know which you prefer.
Join us next week as well when we get back to sewing these borders and sashing onto the blocks to start constructing our quilt top.
