I'm a disabled vet and I can no longer hunt with my compound bow so my son got a XP 350 so I've been doing research on it. This was a informative vid thank you for making it.
Kinda late to the party, glad I found your page. This will be my sons first deer season with me, and he chose this exact crossbow. He wanted one like mine, The KI Boss 405, but told him he had to use his own money to get his first crossbow. Can't be spoiling them young ones to much, plus he'll take better care of it since it was his money that bought it. Can't wait to get in the woods with him and try and get his first deer.
Love my xp 350 . Bought back in sept up here in nc mountains for my deer. I named it thumper . Deer doesn’t go 30 yards with nap killzones and mayhem bolts. I highly recommend this crossbow .
Great video. I picked up my first crossbow and now I'm waiting for next year's deer season so of course I've fallen down the rabbit hole of crossbow reviews. Keep up the good content and good luck with the sponsorship.
Got the same one. Shot one doe with it. It shots as good as any I’ve ever shot. Changing the scope before next year not to good in low light. Can’t beat this for the price.
I bought the same one from Walmart love it to me worth the money the red dot that comes with it sighted in easy just a good overall crossbow for the money!
I have a barnett xp 350 shooting victory bolts and 100 grain slick tricks broadheads this xbow is very accurate and weighs only 6lbs haven't harvested a deer with it but I'm working on it I love this bow
Thanks for the helpful info, I’ve been sitting on a Barnett Game Crashed 2.0 for awhile now and just put it all together using your video as a reference.
I had a Barnett Whitetail Pro STR and that crossbow sucked. I bought it from Bass Pro Shops and I had to take it back because the oem string kept fraying after only shooting it 12 times. This happened twice and after the 3rd time I upgraded the oem string and got an aftermarket string and then sold it on eBay. I needed up getting my money back and then I bought me the more reliable Excalibur Bulldog 440. I have changed the strings by myself with the stringer kit and the bow chrono at 450FPS. Yes. Excalibur is more bulky, but it’s so much more durable and I could leave it cocked 24+hrs without overstretching the string. The other thing I love about the bow is that if I snap the string on a hunt I can install a new string on the fly. You can’t do that with a compound crossbow.
Good move! I tried a few different scopes but eventually came back to the red dot. I had a hard time getting the elevation consistent with my arrows I was shooting
I love my Tp390. Got it for a steal brand new. I replaced the scope with the Killer Instinct Lumix SR 5x32. My Barnett Blackcat has that red dot, It's okay.
I have the killer instinct boss 405. I upgraded my scope to killer instinct Lumix IRE. I have the DSC Crank cocker system it is silent. My draw is 220. I shoot custom victory carbon bolts 425 grain. Wt Rage Xtreme broadheads. Good luck .
So I got the DRT 385 last Sunday from my local Dunham's mind you they assembled it. Got home fired it for the first time it frayed and unstrung right in my face apon release! Has anyone else experienced this with Barrentt Crossbows, or was it due to my local sporting good store assembling it for me?
Why didn’t you add the other item the arrow holder it’s total different from the other bow I have where it under the bottom left to right I guess this one stays under on left or right side but great video
Great video, but you didn't attach the quiver. I've been staring at the instructions for an hour, trying to figure out the quiver mount. I can't even identify the correct part -- very frustrating. Maybe mine was shipped without all the pieces. I guess I'll assemble it without the quiver. This is disappointing because the manual said the quiver is supposed to be done first if you're going to use it. Anyway, I'm glad I found your channel. You seem like a fun guy. BTW, That random "America" comment cracked me up. God bless our country, and God help us 🇺🇸
Love you new bow. I have a xb370 it’s incredible. I also have an excaliber Axiom my dad bought new in 2010. Good luck this season and please give us hunting updates. Love your channel and content please keep them coming. I just got my first deer 🦌 of the year. Can you let me know about the scope I’d like to look into getting one. I’ve heard of people putting rifle scopes on they’re bow any insight on this? Maybe a video idea? Thank you. Semper Paratus...
Thanks for the feedback and congrats on the first one! I just got my first doe of the year this past weekend. On my jackal crossbow I had a rifle 3-9×40 scope and it held up pretty well with it. The only down side is at super close range within 15yards its hard to get a good shot due to the magnification but other than that it does the job! I switched back to a red dot today due to the close range of my stand to my kill zone
Are you going to post the video of the doe hunt?i truly appreciate your replies as well as your insight knowledge and honesty. Thank you and I look forward to the videos.
Wish I would have found your vid2os before I assembled and lost 1 arrow and broke the other in a tree trying to get it out. I am a complete newbie, however... I want to learn to crossbow hunt. Great content man! I race Rc buggies on my channel, checking out.
So can the slide for the cross strings be ordered from Barnett. I just got this bow for a spare so I’m not always using my fancy one. And the Barnett didn’t come with one of the slide
I've had problems with my Jackal ended up being the rail the scope rail bolts were loose. Tried to glue the bolts in but they eventually ended up breaking.
I have a center point 370 sniper I love it had it for 2 years and it started to shoot bad just like yuppie Jackle if you figure out the problem please give us a update, Nice video😀
I just picked up this crossbow yesterday. I've never shot a deer with a crossbow what are some good broadheads you recommend? I'm going to be hunting for deer and hogs in Georgia.
I added the killer instinct luminex scope on mine and I absolutely love it! It blows that cheap one and several others I looked at out the water. If highly recommend you check it out.
Thank you for the video I have got one a few weeks ago putting it today then going target practice later today hopefully be hunting soon with I do have a question what kind of crossbow arrows do you recommend and what kind of tips thank you for your time
Can you please tell me 2 things.1.if I dont have that white string saver part, how can I get one.2.will it hurt it if I don't use it.Thank you.i have the viking FX1-45,I got it off wish.175lb draw.only shoots 17"bolts,so I used it for part of deer elk season, but bought this barrnett xp 350.i love it,it actually uses 20" bolts which as you know is the shortest bolts can be for deer&elk.Buti felt like it wasnt safe shooting a bolt 4"to long, the viking shoots at 240fps with a 17" bolt but the extra 4 inch bolts, made it shoot badly slower,ect..thos Barrette xp350 shoots really hard fast.great bow.anyway thank you.
Great video! The cables on my XP350 came heavily greased with no little white plastic slide thingy. Is it necessary, or did they leave it out for a reason I wonder?
So everyone know u do 3 shots too sight in 3 shots 10 yards 3 shots 20 3 shots 30 do not try to harvest a deer over 35 yards that’s just me thou no suffering to an animal!!! Respect them woods! That’s why we all here...
I assembled my XP 350 crossbow but when trying to pull the string to add the arrow the string won't move and I don't wanna break it. It seems like it's locked or something. What did I do wrong?
Picked one up at walmart the other day great xbow sighted in reality easy. Question for you I have Googled and tried to get in touch with barnett but nothing about the size of the string and cables do you have any idea of the sizes?
I do not know personally, I have a shop locally that restrings bows and crossbows. I will be taking my old crossbow to get it turned up and ill if they can tell me and I'll post an update
I tore my should up at work and after that god awful surgery, I had to give up my beloved compound. A friend of mine gave me an old Barnett Panzer so I could hunt a little before rifle season started. I'm definitely going to need an upgrade. I'm looking at the Jackal. Do you recommend it?
Just ran across your review. I see you posted 2 years ago. So can you tell me after two years whats your thoughts on this cross bow now? Looking to buy
Definitely a good buy and worth it. So far I have 4 kills with it and just replaced string and cable on it. I only bow hunt a few times per season and it's been worth the investment every time.
Haha I had that thought but then I also had a extra $400 to spend in the budget so I weighted my options and reinvested in a new bow and some new camo gear 😂😂
I am viewing your video now, and I find it interesting but strange that the crossbow is consistently hitting to the left. Did you ever have the crossbow checked out by Barnett or a competent crossbow technician. Check your limbs to see if they are cracked. Also make sure that your nocks are aligned properly. Furthermore, check your "tiller." And lastly make sure you are cocking the crossbow evenly. I am a Barnett fan. I have over twenty (20) Barnett crossbows. Some of my Barnett crossbows were manufactured in the late 70's to the early 90's, and they are still hitting the mark. One last thing check your stance and form. That Jackal should still be hitting its mark. It is not old.
I dont think you have to have it, I had an extra one from my last bow and it does work with or without it. But having one definitely helps preserve the cables.
