We stayed local this weekend due to van issues, we had a couple of beers in Barnsley then on Sunday we went into Elsecar for a nice Sunday lunch. I also find time to have a little rant about Morrisons.

I've worked in Yorkshire a couple of times and the Yorkshire humour is as dry as sandpaper, they're not miserable, just very dry. Keep that humour going 👍

Well done Steve for calling out the retailers BS we have to put up with as a consumer. I agree they do mislead on 2 for 1 deals on purpose and it's not just them at it. I have not long subscribed to your channel and I am so glad I found you guys. James there's no way you are boring, you make me chuckle most of the time. And you have definitely struck gold finding Helen. What an added bonus she is to your vloggs ❤ I met my husband in April 2019 so we went through a similar situation after first meeting having to find a way to meet up during COVID. Yes! Morrisons, glad you said it. I wanted to use their Morrisons More card but not a clue what qualifies when walking around. I only go if I can't get to Asda or Tesco now, as it is conveniently placed for me, but it always works out more expensive than the others so I try to avoid. Not the same as it once was

Darling Helen...😊 How do you stay so trim and beautiful after all the beer and gurt big dinners ? I look at a pint and a plate, and I've gained half a stone. Morrisons have tried to rip me off the same way many times James. I have photographs of how they misled the customers if you would like them? Spent an hour with the manager discussing it but he would not budge. Then called customer services which was a waste of time. Thank you for calling them out as I thought it was only me noticing these cons 👍

I have a dry sense of humour myself so I love you guys and your sense of humour. I LOVE the Yorkshire people, especially the Barnsley side. We moved to Yorkshire from Scotland in 1979 and I had hoped it was near there, but sadly we got S. Yorks near Doncaster, which is not quite the same for me personally. I love to see Ellen enjoying herself dancing and singing.😊

Morrisons! Absolutely check your receipt EVERY time. Every time there is an ‘offer’ it’s all mixed with non offer products to hope you pick the wrong items. Or a cut price sticker but never under the actual product. I seldom go there now. Aldi every time! Cheaper and honest labelling.

Definitely agree with you about Morrisons daily. When you get a meal deal, you get some drinks or a snack with the sandwich. £3.50. However, you get charged extra for the drink. I've said the same thing... "why haven't you got them on the right shelves then" 🙄

I watching your vlog on Barnsley,many years ago I was in Barnsley,. I was with a group of army lads , my cousin was in the army and we lived in the midlands, and got invited to Barnsley by his comrades . We both had a fantastic time welcomed by all can not fault the people.I was born in Halifax, northern hospitality far better than southern.

Ha! James glad it not just me!! dragged the Manager on to shop floor at Morrisons a couple of times for exactly that!! Wine offers are the worst - 2 for £10 quid and they shove 3.99 stuff in there!! (was a while ago things have gone up since!!) back filling with dearer item when offer item gone!! got home once and my quid roll of tin foil had cost me £3.75!!! that was the trigger to keep an eye and it has happened loads of time since!!! Annoyingly the Managers will not concede it happens , only go to Morrisons as last choice now!! Hopefully your mention hits a nerve well done!!

All the supermarkets are the same James! So much so i take my husband with with so he can watch the till while i do the packing The times we have caught them out is UNBELIEVABLE!!! It shouldnt happen this day and age, so much for technology ay!! Even reduced stuff doesnt always come off your bill! Enjoyed the video Steve! 🤪 No relationship is a fairy tale story, Quirks are what makes life fun! We slept in our new van 3 nights on the trot up in the peaks, I felt kinda worn out in a weird way as not used to it . Fortunately we do have a rented home to fall back on but I quite like it recreationally and I think I could do it full time if I had to. Kudos to ya mate for what you do! PS. So glad you did this one, I worked in Barnsley when they were fitting out the Alhambra Centre just before it opened, I was there for almost twelve months on and off, great people, I had a great time, can you remember Chinese Whispers, The Court House No 7's, Brown's Bar, Corner Pin and the Old Post Office at haige. Know't run'g wi Barnsley lad. And people who say you're grumpy just don't understand Yorkshire people, I'm from the Black country and we have very similar mannerisms which are sometimes mistaken for being rood, Tec noooo notice lad.

Morrisons Louth....my nearest supermarket is not very super. Have had several errors on my bill over last couple of years...always higher prices . The worst was the 6 bottles of wine 25% off. They changed system, and excluded the brands I buy...so ended up being overcharged. Despite ringing the local number on receipt, ended up at an Indian call centre. Took me an hour to get an answer to my complaint. Felt deceived.

I’ve no issue with you doing ads etc. 90% of RU-vid vloggers do the same and for the amount of time it takes up, it’s nothing. Skip forward if you don’t like it. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s wholesome, entertaining and grounded. Reminds me of happy times going to some of these locations as a kid on holiday.

Great conversation you had with us today, love your honesty. I like the way you would take a pause and then come back to us after having a conversation with Helen. That's as it should be, don't let things fester, get it out into the open and discuss. Oh hey, I finally watched that movie "Kes", great depiction of what life was like then in that area. My younger brother took up falconry when he was young. He raised up a baby great horned owl in the backyard, Pete. Appreciate your hard work on the videos and sometimes you just have to explain it to folks what all it takes to put these out for their enjoyment. I think most of us here are very fond of "Jamlen" and love what you do. 👍👌👏

Thank you :-) After watching the video back I've noticed how much worse Helens limp looks. I think it looks exaggerated on camera because of the camera movement (we never notice it in real life). She's going to get it checked out again though.

My wife and I recently went Morrisons in Beverly and couldn’t believe how rude the staff was. The woman who severed us didn’t say hello or thank you we complained about her and her of putting face. So rude and very pricey wont ever go back

Both me and the wife love your channel how about you and Helen come to the back country ( dudley ) . Trip to the black country museum a good start ,fish and chips cooked the old fashion way in lard ,lots of local history to see and reading for helen,plenty of good ale to try out and about what more can you ask for . Went into morrisons recently and was shocked how expensive it's become! 🙄 Don't worry about the mean comments, those who are true fans wouldn't begrudge you making money and wanting the channel to do well. More money=more videos. It's ridiculous that people get free entertainment on YY from creators but begrudge you making money in order to live and keep doing what you do! And you're not too grumpy or mean to Helen, you're great just the way you are and a fab couple! 😊
