Having worked in banking and credit industry, I can guarantee with 100% certainty that this woman has been contacted numerous times over a period of many months. This is controlled by Fair Debt Collection laws. Those contacts have clearly stated due dates, payment amounts due and deadlines before action is taken. She had every opportunity to pay, negotiate a payoff, make arrangements, move her own fence, etc. ABSOLUTELY NO bank or finances wants to take physical possession of a used stanky structure and the expense of removal and storage. And side question- Who goes into debt and wrecks their credit to buy a shed for the purpose of storing random loose trash?
I do think the one side of that shed with the large gate, was actually used as an animal shelter (a horse?) It was bare ground from activity, no weeds.
yes of course, the company doesnt that nasty piece back of course. not only in this regard but others its always a surprise to those folks. shows and actually we need a public list of those to not even DEAL with here. like no not worth it just move on better to waste your time with people who will actually pay for your stuff you selling.
It's because he is doing a job for someone else, it's not his property, if he runs into a problem he can let his emploryer or the police settle it. He's not drawing fighting pay.
No, didn’t you hear he was inside WORKING and looked out the window and seen him😂 so not a deadbeat 😅 all that after acting like he wasn’t home on the ring camera
They knew exactly what they were doing hiding it behind the fence. Almost thinking it would be a magical shield from the repo man or something. Imagine if it were just that easy?
Obvious deadbeats from someone who did repossessions professionally. More than likely they lie all the time and get away with it often enough to encourage them to act in this manner.
Or possibly an imaginary wife and he just dressed up as a female to buy a shed going out on a limb here but you know I’ve been in customer service for a while and it’s amazing what comes out of peoples mouths
I came out of this with three super impressive wow moments: 1) you addressed every talking point of the guy without pulling a power play. You got your job done and he left with His ego intact. 2) you removed a fence section and returned it back in working order before you left like it was never touched! 3) you literally carried a 6x6 post with gate attached with awkward fencing attached like it was a Tonka toy! You are one strong repo man!! lol Special shoutout to keep on doing your thing and ignoring the cop til you were done. Great move. After all, you aren’t the one who called him. lol
You're confused about something, the cop ALLOWED him(repo guy) to ignore him(cop) Because both repo man and cop knew repo man was correct in his repossession, had it mattered, had the repo man been in the wrong the cop would never have allowed it, simple.....
@@bethewalt7385 that is true. But I’m not confused. Other people might have went to the cop and tried to explain to solidify their standing and offered paperwork proof, but this guy just kept on doing his thing as if the cop wasn’t even there.
All contracts state: YOU CAN NOT FENCE IT IN, it has to be accessible for repo, IF SO THE FENCE COMES DOWN, THEY SIGNED THE CONTRACT TO THAT EFFECT -- CIVIL CASE.
Its illegal to finance something (shed , car etc..) and not pay for it then put a fence around it and say "dont damage the fence". Not sure what the states laws are where you're at though. You have a ton of patience I wouldn't put anything back. Take the shed and bounce.....
If your wife is on vacation she's got the money to catch up on her payments if not get the hell out of the man's way and let him do his job PERIOD.......
Always " don't mess up the fence" should make a battering ram for Dingo tracked mover, don't threaten a repo guy, won't work in your cheapskate, bill dodging, non answering the 5 weeks of phone calls favor
To be fair it might not be a vacation. It could easily be her visiting family or a friend in preparation to resettle somewhere or just to get away from the situation in order to regroup.
If he needs financial compensation for his damaged fence all he has to do is take her to court because she created the situation in which removal of the fence became necessary.
Well done Josh. The deputy was right. It was a contractual issue, therefore civil court. You were there to pick it up after the "wife" had not made several payments. You were doing your job. You did it well. Love Dale Carnegie!
It's spelled out pretty clearly in the contract you sign when you purchase the shed, from any business, that if you do not maintain payments the repo man will come, by signing said contract you agree to access and to not take measures to block access to shed, to block access is criminal, this is standard contractual clauses
it wasn't all you, Josh. I yelled loud enough for the neighbors through the woods to hear me. 😄 I don't have a high opinion of this person, what with the way he acted, trying to say that it was his wife's problem, but HE wanted to make the calls! You dun good, bud! Thanks!
You handled that really good! A huge help with all of that is that you remained calm , you never raised your voice and you was respectful to that man. Good job!
If he sold all of those junk vehicles he could probably pay for the shed...and a better fence. Sometimes people are poor because they make stupid choices.
Being poor may mean you can't afford $500 for a dumpster. I can get an old vehicle hauled away for free (or even get a couple hundred bucks) where I live, but I've no idea if that holds nationwide. I just dismantled a mattress and box spring and disposed of them over the last month in my regular garbage pickup because the landfill charges $110 if I were to bring them there. If you've never been at a point in your life where you don't have an extra $110 (not to mention $500) in your budget for garbage disposal then consider yourself lucky. Also, property values normally only matter when you're buying or selling. If you're planning to sell and you can get all the junk removed in a month and the yard looking good then there's no "investment" consideration to be worried about.
@@unnamed_channel I’ve been paycheck to paycheck raising a family we had challenges raising a handicapped son so money was extra tight. We took pride in our yard and home as did our neighbors. A trashy house with old cars and junk will bring down the value if you lived next door. If my neighbors were struggling I was always willing to give them a hand.
So that's how people can afford to go on vacation; they just stop paying their bills. I often wondered why I couldn't afford the time or money to have a vacation in my 50+ years. Now I know.
Maybe he's poor and it's the nicest thing he ever built.... Regardless, he knows the shed is being repo'd, he should have taken it down himself so he could redo it himself.
@@the_quaint_gypsy Maybe he should sell all of those junk vehicles and he could pay for the shed and a decent fence? The guy was coward pretending that he wasn't home and then he comes out once his precious fence starts getting removed. He didn't care about the fence, he just didn't want the repo guy to take the building.
@@the_quaint_gypsy , if he is poor, he sure doesn't look like it. He's got some pretty big vehicles on his property that even one of them would pay for that shed.
These ppl think you can just sit around and wait for them. They don't handle their obligations and act like it's your problem. Pay for your stuff and you don't have to worry about it. Also, she's still his wife, but he's trying to act like he has nothing to do with any of it.
You are a real nice one, because I wouldn't put sht back up. That fence would lay where it is, and I'd drive off with the shed like hired to do. The fence wasn't supposed to be in the way of the shed anyway.
One thing I noticed is he never asked for any paperwork or anything but then when he called the cops, he said there was no paperwork or proof, as if you just ride around stealing sheds. He also told the cops that the wife does not even live there but he never mentioned that, just that she was away & would be home after vacation & she would then pay for it. He thought he was going to get a free shed, that is what his intention was.
I’m impressed not only with the amazing machinery used to move this shed onto the trailer but with the AMAZING patience the driver has with the husband.
Wife walks in room: why are you watching a guy doing a shed repo? ....... Me: sit with me for a minute.......... 15 minutes later I paused it to go piss..... Why did you pause it? Hurry up
I was a Department store loss prevention officer near a shady area. I attested people all the time. Handcuffed them, etc. Like this guy, avoiding physical confrontations is all about how you handle yourself. Be polite and professional, but let them know that there isn't another alternative.
@reneedominguez3633 After I handcuffed them, I took them to the security office. Gave them sit down. While my partner watched them, I stepped and used a phone right outside the office door and called the police. While waiting for the police, I would fill out the actual police department. Incident report. The officers would arrive. Sign off on the report and take them away. Our policy was to charge ALL shoplifters. As for, "just a mall cop", try stopping a person who may out weigh you by 20-30 pounds, by yourself in a parking lot. I did that dozens of times.
The guy has a junk yard and the guy is worried about his flimsy fence. If I lived next door to him, I'd call the county on his junk yard. Yeah, I'm one of those guys.
I don't have any money to pay for that shed. I'm on vacation in Virginia Beach. Most people go years and years without a vacation because their priority is paying their bills first.
Bishnu height!! When you said the guy from the rental place said the husband was at home i knew right then he was watching out the window waiting for the minute you took the fence down to come outside, and sure enough he did. I really wish you would wear a bullet proof vest, people these days are *CRAZY* and you never know what can happen when you have your back turned. Stay Safe!!
You have such patience!! You’re just an honest man doing an honest hard days work… but you sure are good people!! Stay strong, blessings to you and your family!
Lol, he is all concerned over that cheap okd chicken wire fence with the wood post just sitting in the ground with no cement? 😅 Delay tactic for sure...
That machine is amazing!!😮😮😮 I can remember my parents having our mobile home moved about 40 years ago. They used wedges to slide it inch by inch. Took forever. Someone made life so much easier for the towing business with that thing!!😂😂😂
I've often wondered if it would help, if you armed yourself with a copy of the signed contract, for cases in which you have to explain how it is, you have the right to move a fence, or take the shed at all. If you hand them the copy, they can busy themselves reading it, while you load up. 😊
I like that you used the Pennsylvania Dutch so he couldn't understand, that took me by surprise. I didn't know what the heck was coming out your mouth! 🤣
When I got out of the Army, I took a job working for a finance company with some repossession work from time to time. I had one man chase me with a pick-axe, putting in the hood of the car I was driving (company car-luckily), I had a double barrel shotgun pointed at my head through a crack in the door, chased with a baseball bat, etc. I had enough and quit after 2 years. Vietnam followed by danger from deadbeats. The emotion is real. Danger is real. This amish dude is essentially a repo man and is in harms way each time he takes a shed.
im surprised as a mennonite that they even get in confrontation. usually try to avoid but this guys cool as a cucumber and still respectful. awesome work
It was all a damn lie! He wanted to keep the shed which is why he pretended to be mad about the junk fence. Heck he could sell 2 or 3 of those junk vehicles if he was hard up for money.
Another successful repo! Your work always impresses me. And the way you deal with people impresses me even more. You have a lot of patience. I on the other do not. I can’t believe the guy was sitting in the house the whole time you were there and didn’t come out until near the end. The cop was also really cool.
I was in the business of financing these buildings and I can’t tell on our contract that the customer signed, plainly states that we have the right to remove any fences or items that blocks or would prevent removal of our property.
IIRC a while back you said that there was a clause in rent to own contract that prevented the installation of a fence that might interfere with repossession of a rented shed.
I have a client that has storage units, and was considering branching out into storage buildings, until he looked at the percentage of buildings that were repossessed, in our area. I checked and it was right on the national average. He decided to purchase some additional property and build additional storage units. At least with them, he has the ability to deactivate the customer's card which stops them from entering the property. We wrote his customer contract where if they are delinquent on their rental, they agree that they will not be permitted back on the property until they are current, and their access card is deactivated and a lockout is placed on the unit. When they are 10 days late, they will receive a trespass from the property, so if they talk someone inside the facility into letting them in, they are then guilty of criminal trespass, and he will have them arrested. If they have tampered with the lockout, then they are looking at additional charges. Then it is just a matter of waiting for the obligatory time periods, and filing the abandonment documents. Then their items are moved to the warehouse for the semi-annual auction.
