Thanks for making the video. I'd like to help clarify a few things. First, if anyone is choosing between Baroque and German recorders for purchase, please buy Baroque. They are not harder to finger, and they are used almost exclusively by professionals. Professional recorders usually don't come in German fingering varieties, and there are some types of recorders, such as bass recorders, which don't have German varieties at all. In short, the German system was invented to try to make a single note easier to finger, but in doing so, they made other notes harder to finger and tuning worse overall. The extra few minutes it takes you to learn to play an F will pay off very quickly for you! Here is a list of the differences. * = half hole F - (this one is explained in the video) German - T 123 4 Baroque - T 123 4 67 F# German - T 123 567 Baroque - T 123 56 G# German - T 12 456* (in the video, without the 6*, it's too sharp) Baroque - T 12 456 or T12 456* (depends on the recorder. In the video, the Suzuki sounds too sharp with only a half hole, so it's one that benefits from the full hole) 2nd D alternate For the D alternative fingering, it sounded like it was too sharp on the German with that fingering. Notice how 8:23 is more in tune than 8:53. So I think you want the same for these: German - T* 123 4567 Baroque - T* 123 4567 But as you pointed out, the standard D fingering is just: German - (no thumb) 2 Baroque - (no thumb) 2 For the D# in the second octave, the standard fingering for both Baroque and German is: German - (no thumb) 23 456 Baroque - (no thumb) 23 456 2nd F - (explained in the video) German - T* 123 4 Baroque - T* 123 4 6 Two differences not mentioned are the F# and G# in octave 2. 2nd F# German - T* 123 5 7 Baroque - T* 123 5 2nd G# German - T* 123 567 Baroque - T* 12 4

Hello po ask ko lang may nabili kasi ako sa lazada na flute kaso 6 holes lang meron Pero walang back hole. Tapos may papel sya sa loob kasi chinese trinaslate ko siya ang nakalagay 6 holes german flute nakalagay. Okay po ba sya??

This is way too late for you, but hopefully others will see it. Yes, baroque is strongly preferred. It's used by professionals and beginners alike. The German system is _not_ easier, and it creates problems.
