Essentially two guns for under $200 that shoots under 1/2" groups, no extras required like C02 or a pump (the money you save can go on a decent scope), decent velocity, adjustable trigger etc. ... What's not to like? Nice review as always. 👌
Perhaps a bit reticent about going to 5 for this? Swappable barrels, decent trigger, impressive accuracy, and reasonable price would prompt a 5 from me - it does everything it's meant to, after all. I'm seeing Barra step up their game- partnering with Beeman is a plus. Anyway, glad to see you review their stuff - love your format, keep it up.

I bought one of these based on this review. it is a heck of an air rifle. Like JC says, its a Beeman licensed design. if you look closely you can see the receiver is just like a beeman. should be same gas piston etc. compared to a crosman break barrel, the trigger is straight from heaven. I did not use the scope provided, but to be fair it gave a good sight picture. The gun is comparable in power to my nitro piston crosman vantage. that means its a monster. it is pleasant to shoot. I can see how these break barrels are hard on rifle scopes. I mounted my scope, i thought tight enough, but after two shots it had moved along the dovetails. so i tightened it a bit more and all good. the rifle has a 1 year warranty. Crosman offers a 5 year warranty on their nitro piston, gotta give em kudos on that. I fired the barra 22 barrel point blank into a 2 x 4 and it penetrated about 3/4 of the way though the board. this is not a gun for a kid. its too much. but for anyone that is mature, its a real piece of work. great review, thanks. Happy to have this Barra . I bought directly from the barra website - they shipped next day and I got the gun fast, even during the Xmas rush. impressed with that service.

Nice review JC. The Barra does have a nice stock. I wish it had open sights incase the scope ever lost accuracy. With the Beeman version a wood stock with open sights is available. I think it would be nice to find out how Barra's warranty and service department operate. Beeman's is terrible. Their are customers waiting over a year now to have the Beeman Underlever PCP rifles serviced under warranty for leaks. Terrible!!!! If Barra's warranty and customer service are run well, actually fix warranty items and responsive to calls and emails, it would be great to know? Thanks for all you hard work!
Yeah that's a good point, they should have included open sights on a break barrel. I've heard people have good luck so far with Barra warranty on the 1100z pcp guns with the air stripper problems they had at first. That's terrible to hear about Beeman's warranty department being that bad. I've heard quite a few people complain about Hatsan warranty department too in last year or so.

Pretty good deal for two barrels being able to shoot 2 calibers. 15-20 fpe is good power level for a break barrel too. When you get into the "big bore" break barrels like my Hatsan 135 in .25 approaching 30 fpe+ it starts to feel like the gun is trying to tear itself apart almost. It puts the squirrels right to sleep, but my stock's screws will start to come loose, scopes get destroyed, you gotta have the perfect artillery hold for accuracy, piston seals go out, etc.
@@AirgunDetectives I'd heard of tuning them for more fps, increasing piston pressure, but nothing really other than that. It's taken a coyote once before so I never messed with it lol
The ftt's were the most accurate in my old Beeman dual caliber .22 break barrel. Couldn't get anything to group with it's .177. The Barra seems promising. I love my 1100z .22.
.177 should pretty much stay in the co2 and pump guns, don't get the point of .177 break barrels or especially pcp guns. This break barrel seemed pretty accurate with them though, so not bad if you got extra tins of .177 sitting around. Glad to see someone else say they like their 1100z in .22 though, was thinking about ordering one as my new pcp squirrel gun 👍
Most your .177 shoot too high velocity for good accuracy. You need to slow the velocity down to stabilize the pellet. The heavier grain pellets will do the trick. Most .177's rifles are in the category labeled, "Field Target" Rifles. Happy Shooting!
@@AirgunDetectives Ya that's true I noticed you were shooting the 10 grains out of it for accuracy, definitely want the heavier pellet for accuracy especially in .177, probably in that sweet spot around 800-900fps too

Hi JC, know it's been a long while since you did this review. Getting ready to order the Barra 1200G. Your review sold me. Don't know if you'd remember exactly what "head size" those .22 H&N Field Target Trophy pellets you used for the accuracy test. If you don't have that recorded, what size head would you recommend to start with....Midway USA has 3: 5.53mm, 5.54mm, 5.55. Thanks for any advice. I'm new to the spring air/NP rifles. Bought a little Crosman Tyro springer (.177) for my grandson over a year ago and it is absolutely, remarkably accurate. Thanks again. Love your channel
Checked in to see what’s shaking. I see it’s Bond Time - shaken, not stirred. Dude, the Proxima got four stars and it was crap on accuracy and power for money. All things considered, including noise level- this is a five star plus.
I got a barra 1100z after I watched you're video of it, and mine is a lemon, at 10 yards it's shooting 4 inches groups of a stick. Not sure why but that definitely makes me feel like pcps are a 50/50 gamble. And Im not sure if it was the gun I got or the scope. It's definitely powerful and quiet but I can shoot my hatsan 125 with 36 grain slug at 40 yards of hand and get 1" groups offhand but that barra can't do that at 10 yards
Would you mind conducting a video on rifle shooting techniques that you have learned that help accuracy? You clearly have a ton of experience and, as a viewer and fellow shooter, your insights would be valuable.

Nice review. Nice rifle for the price too. Both barrels shot great which was not the case with the Beeman Grizzly dual I had. Barra seems to have done a better job with the design. As always your shooting is excellent, you seem to make almost any gun shooot well! I get the feeling you were a sniper in the service or on a SWAT team. Like to comment on that?
I just have been lucky enough to shoot a lot and gain some valuable experience through my career. I may have picked up a few "Expert" shooting pins over the years. I think most everyone can shoot well if they develop good basic techniques and practice. Also, don't forget with airguns the right pellet also makes a big difference. I appreciate you tuning in. 👍🏻
Good review as always. I wonder if the breech block where the barrel is seated is metallic? One of the downsides of air rifles with interchangeable barrels that are anchored with a screw is that in the long run the develop play and that is not good at all for accuracy. For the price and as a entry level gun the power and accuracy at 20 yards is very good. I prefer springers because they are easier to fix.
CHANGEABLE BARRELS I appreciate that the barrel can be easily removed and installed. Being able to reduce the length to carry it fully protected in a pack or on my mountain bike is a nice option. BARREL CHANGE AFFECT ON GROUPING POSITIONS One thing I'd like to have seen in the review is how MUCH variation and what sort of variation there is when you shoot a set with one caliber, remove the barrel, then reinstall the *same* barrel and shoot additional sets, removing and reinstalling the barrel in between each set. For example, are we talking a *_maximum_* variation in the group positions of over an inch, or something that can be managed to an inch or less? In successive multiple sets of N shots per set, does the center-point of each grouping tend to move randomly all over the target, or does it move in a consistent line (or other pattern) across the target? (e.g. if a line, do the groups move diagonally, up and down, horizontally?) (Note: the scope is *_not_* to be adjusted between barrel remove/replace cycles. Doing so would void this assessment. The idea is to evaluate the affect of the performance changes due to manipulating JUST the barrel.)
Hello JC, really enjoyed this review. I was wondering how this gun has been holding up. I'm thinking of getting it but a little skeptical of how the little grub screw can hold the barrels in place without loosening up. maybe a little loctite?

Interesting Webley and Scott produced multi barrel guns in the shape of the service pre world war two and the Webley Hawk in the 1970's, others have tried this idea since, of all these designs the prewar service from a barrel attachment point of view was head and shoulders above all of the designs that have subsequently followed. To add to a multi barrel airguns problems the action will need to be set for one caliber a .177 action set for any one countries legal limit USA not included will produce illegal power levels in the larger calibers. this means that the actions power level needs to be set at the largest caliber available for the gun meaning as you drop down through the calibers the power levels will drop off.
Good review...Scratch that. Yur the ONLY reviewer I watch cuz of the format you use. (^_^) Gonna take a pass on this Barra even tho the barrel swap is on my wish list. I can't use any rifle/pistol with a scope. The "pests" seem to only appear in no light or low light conditions. Stuck using iron sights and a headlamp or the fiber optic ones but with glow-in-the-dark paint for visibility/contrast. (_Oo)

My only question about Barra is their customer support. the web site doesnt give you a customer service number like Crosman does. and to return a barra that is defective, you have to have all the stickers and tags and original packaging included. If anyone has any insight on this please share. If something breaks, i want to be able to buy replacement parts.
Barra is a smaller, newer airgun company, and I know the CEO personally. They will go the extra step to take care of you. There are many who have tried to take advantage, so they do have required steps on returns and exchanges. They are a great group of guys. 😉👍🏻

I would like to try using "Red Dot" and LASER sights. You say it has "11mm scope mounts". Can you please provide details? I haven't seen even ONE manufacturer/seller provide sight mounting details/specs in the sales literature/product pages, nor in online reviews I've so far watched. They all seem to assume everyone already knows what kind of mounting system is used on pellet rifles. For example, is it a Weaver or Picatinny rail system? (approximately 10-11 or 20-21.7mm widths) Are they a totally different kind of "standard" pellet rifle mount? Is it standardized between manufacturers or do they each use proprietary systems so you have to buy their scopes? I have zero experience with pellet and BB rifles and finding detailed info on their sight mounting system(s) is NOT easy. If it's not a Picatinny rail, do you think a commonly available Picatinny rail can be mounted to it using the existing scope mounts? (One can buy packages of Picatinny or Weaver rails of various lengths on various web sales sites. Depending on length they usually have 2 or 3 mounting holes. Can drill holes in different locations if needed. These add-on sight mounting rails are fairly inexpensive.)
