Many friends asked me, why I like overnight fishing camping @ the rustic and wild area, my answer to them has always been "Giant barra will only close to the shore @ night".
Barramundi are Nocturnal Feeders, nightfall is the temporary migration of the giant barra to estuaries where food is more abundant, then a return to the safety of snags offshore in the day. Singapore biggest barra record was 1.48m night caught @ the old Punggol jetty 40 years ago, set by a senior angler same of my age now, this record was published in the newspapers, and I was still in the high school @ the time.
