I bought that bit and headstall combo at some random tack shop going through Ohio. I don't remember the name, unfortunately. I'm sure you can order it online through any CE stores or Martin stores.
There’s so many options. 1 - if you have a hot horse, you want to keep them happy, comfortable and enjoying their job. Also, it depends how they are on the pattern. I’d suggest something that has a bit of forgiveness(gag) and has a shank for “woah” Mouth piece also plays a big part, something twisted will give more bite then a smooth piece. What do you ride in now??
Do you have the link to the second bit? I just came across this video in search for a bit for my ottb barrel mare and the second one is exactly what she needs but I can't seem to find it
What kind of bit do you recommend for a horse that is young but knows the pattern I feel the bit I have on her now is to harsh and she wants to get away with it it's a straight bar combination bit from Martha Josey and I want something with breaks in it for more bend.
I don’t know why but I prefer a hackamore all the time because I feel like it would be hard to breathe and get good air when there’s something in your mouth. Is that just me?
Horses breath only through their noses. Some hacks you have to be careful to not block off their airways. Mouthpieces then don’t stop their breathing at all.
@@annashantery3063 there are so many options out there! It depends on what your horse it trained for and what you need in a bit. The key is to get clear communication so keep that in mind when looking for bits to try
what kind of bit would you recommend for a barrel horse in training? i just got my horse and i'm trying to train her as well as me because we've both never barrel raced. i've never owned a horse before her and so i don't know really what to look for. love the video :)
It depends where your horse is at and what’s been used before. Typically I start with a o ring but have to move up to a to a little lifter style bit. Something like this shop.wecanhustle.com/products/professional-choice-brittany-pozzi-3-piece-smooth-dogbone
what type of bit do you recommend for a in training barrel horse. she’s kinda old but before i got her they used her for breeding and now that i have her i’m not breeding her this year and back in her days she was a mare that did whatever she wanted lol and she’s getting stronger. i need a bit that i can use for a long time what do you recommend
