Barry is a legend , genius timeless ,gem born singer , still handsome at 77 ,nice with beautiful sweet angel's voice from the heaven , excellent song writer always wearing smile he is my forever icon
Honestly he looks great for being 77, he's always been handsome. He deserves all the awards for Been Gees work, sad his brothers are not here but it's to remember them too. Hope Barry is here for many more years.
@@laurieshreffler5028 Absolutely!! Only Barry is left to accept any and all awards and honors. Same as the Grammy award. I'm sure that. It would have meant a helluva lot to the twins to be shown such honor for a *lifetime* of creating and singing fabulous music and songs!!💜 Barry and his brothers, Robin and Mo, achieved their Amazing success *Together*!!😉
@@gloriamaryhaywood2217Then those complaining now about KCH should've submitted the twins names before they died. That's something you could've done instead of spending time trashing Barry & Linda across RU-vid.🤥😵
Rest well Barry’s longtime friend & Grease star Olivia Newton John who recorded Face to Face with Barry in 1984 & re-recorded Rest Your Love On Me with Barry in 2021 (originally sung by the Bee Gee’s & later by Barry’s brother Andy Gibb as a duet with ONJ).
I am glad he seems stronger these days. I thank Linda and his kids and nieces and nephews for that. My biggest regret is never having a chance to see him. I feel grateful just getting to listen to their music. ❤
Glad Barry finally realized that he got more attention. Barry sings great but they wouldn’t have been the sound of the BeeGees without Robin and Maurice Their harmonies made the group sound terrific ❤❤
I’m a 49 year old woman and this is absolutely my all time favorite band. A little after my “time” but their songs are classic and I cannot get enough of them. Too Much Heaven and To Be With You my favorites.
The Gibb Brothers were so talented and worked hard. The Bee Gees have incredible harmonies, like no other; and lyrics Wow! ❤ Thank you Barry Gibb for all you have done ✔ with music 🎶 I love you Barry as I adore music! :) A very humble man that is why you are so loved ❤
A lot of You Tubers are "reacting" to The Bee Gees and their music. So many say, "where has this music been?" or "Why is this the first time I'm hearing this?" With the song, "Too Much Heaven", a lot of them cry/become emotional because their voices are so angelic. Those of us that grew up in the 70s and 80s were lucky enough to hear them on the radio a few times a day. I'm glad this younger generation can listen and appreciate like we did when we were younger.
I am 32 and I always get excited, I am not from the time in which this music was made, but I can understand the emotion of those who are just discovering the Bee Gees, their songs are unique and enveloping
He was so busy working for the groups success he lost sight of his brothers feelings. Unintentional but it must have been hard for the twins, both of whom were very talented . They were good individually, better when in a pair but amazing all together. ❤❤❤
To be the "last man standing" must be bittersweet for Barry. I'm sure he is greatful to be alive, but to be the oldest of the group and to lose all of his youngers siblings has to hurt. Plus, looking back and reminiscing about the fact they were not on good terms with him when they passed away. A much deserved honor for him and his brothers...sad they weren't here to savor the award. One of the best groups ever----What a ride they had!
Dear Barry. Just because you and your brothers were at a point of differences that doesn't mean you and your brothers didn't love each other any less. Keep that in your mind and heart. I hope that will bring more peace to you. Keep on paying the luv forward ❤️🦋🙏🇺🇸🇺🇦🇮🇱🇬🇧
What a great interview!! The Bee Gee's are the best!!!!! I love their songs!!!! I have their CD'S in my car, I am listening to them now!!!!! They are just lovely, always have been!!! Love to you Barry and your family!!!! ❤❤❤......
Been a fan since the beginning, with Maurice being my favorite. They all seemed so humble and I loved their sense of humor. Still missing Maurice, Robin, and Andy. It will truly be a tragic day in music when Barry's time comes to join his brothers. Wishing him all the best of everything.
The only way Barry and his brothers will be forgotten is if music somehow dies. The Bee Gees are that important to modern music and are so because they were brilliant and quite original in they're creativity, and also wrote many great hits that touched ,many many people from all around the world.
@@olivas91- That struck me as well. FINALLY he admitted "I understand what made them unhappy. I got too much attention, Robin didn't get enough and Mo certainly didn't get enough. I never understood their feelings until a couple of years ago." A bit late for an epiphany. Robin leaving way back in 1969 should have been a bit of a clue. Even when the twins were singing the camera was often on Barry so people thought, and many still do, that he was the entire group and even that he wrote all of their songs. Barry often spoke about the twins "demons". Maybe they resulted from their low self esteem at being relegated to the back of the bus? He just said what many fans knew for decades!!! I really appreciate that he said that and hope he continues to give them the recognition they deserved for all these years (including in any movie that gets made).
@@susieq9801 I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think of Barry as a bad guy. I am absolutely sure that he loved his brothers immensely. As the middle child of 3 girls I know that it is (usually) the older sibling who takes the lead. That is only natural. As a Maurice fan I was especially grateful that he gave extra emphasis to Maurice being overlooked. (the part about the camera always being on Barry is so true... there are some videos where they focused on the background musicians more than Maurice 😔). Anyway their music was amazing and I will always be sad that their time together was all too short.
@@lauravettoretti1323 - Maurice was a musical genius. He could play just about any instrument they threw at him although he couldn't read music and was daring to try new things like the synthesizer when it first came on the music scene. He was their musical director on stage and he was the best musician who put Barry's and Robin's melodies and lyrics to music always finding the right chords and harmonies, and that doesn't even consider his upbeat personality. 👍👍The proof of his importance beyond doubt is that when he died, so did the Bee Gees.
Their music is classic & will outlive the artists of today! I can’t sing one Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift or Ed Sheeran song, but, I know every Bee Gees song! That’s endurance!
Much deserved honor!!!! “How Deep Is Your Love” is my favorite ballad by The Bee Gees. Especially the harmony and melody in the very beginning…so moving. Great to see Barry hanging in there!!!❤❤❤
☘️=KEV george 'SHAMROCK' ALDRICK, writer of 'Umbrella' (Rihanna/Jay-Z, the baseballs, former DEF JAM, now 'Shang-ri-la' Records, (Rick Rubin), L.A. AND Universal Studios, AND Disturbed...only ONE hit 😜
Oh Barry, I care that you and the BeeGees are remembered. Your music defined my life and carries great memories. The best of the best music. Thank you.
They have an enormous catalogue of spectacular songs, many not that well known. But I do feel that "How Can you Mend a Broken Heart" can't be beaten by anybody!! That song and Robin's voice in that song is utterly beautiful.
Thank you C Barry S for honoring the Great Barry Gibb and the Bee Gees - Brilliantly done CBS - & we all should do the same while he is still with us and what a wonderful man Barry is he's a Christian NO surprise there - I for one cannot wait to give him a big hug when we meet beyond the blue ❤ My favourite song - Spirits Having Flown
“You make my world a summer day” some of the most touching lyrics that you will never hear in today’s music. I grew up with the magic of The Bee Gees. ❤
Wonderful interview. Barry, at least you understand now instead of never. Regardless of the failures, the Bee Gees have left legacy that your fans do care about. We care. Love you Barry.
love to you Barry what a deserving honour.the bee gees music will life on forever I have been a huge fan and will always love Barry Maurice and Robin.Never will be forgotten so much joy your songs have given me .❤.Also love to my Andy .
The concert I would love to see is Barry and all his children, nieces and nephews cover the songs. I loved the cousins getting together and singing the Gibb Collective. If I could see one concert that would be the one I would want to see. All of their kids have amazing talent and the work ethic of their famous Dads. Come on Barry one last time!!!
@@olivas91I think Barry's set for retirement at this point when it comes to singing or any type of concert, other than the 2 big projects he's been working on....which are the new movie & a new book.
Dreaming of a concert featuring Barry Gibb and all his children, nieces, and nephews covering the iconic songs would be a mesmerizing and generational celebration. The talent and work ethic inherited from their famous dads, especially seen in the Gibb Collective, promise a spectacular experience. Fingers crossed for Barry to make it happen!
Love you Barry. You are a beautiful person. Love your music since I was a kid. You are the best group ever you are number one in my book. All are my favorite group of all time. You will always be in my heart. Love you all a huge fan❤❤❤❤
My teenage years has been lighted up with the Beegees music. High school in between classes are great bonding with classmates because of their music. Thank you so much Barry, Maurice+ & Robin+❤❤❤ for all those beautiful serenades❤❤❤
Be at peace with yourself BARRY , regardless of all the ups and downs you all have graced us with beautiful music, your sound is different mix whether love songs or disco . Thank you ever so much your music will live on❤❤❤❤
I would love to tell Barry I am the same age as him and I have learned as you get older you learn two big things the meaning of your existence and the really big one humility.
We must remember that the 3 brothers were always listed in the credits because it was the agreement, but Barry's compositions reached the highest, the recognition is for the 16 number 1 in 6 different decades, if there is a collective achievement they have to mention Rob and Mo. because Bee Gees are the three, but in this case Barry is specifically named
Remember he also wrote many songs for Andy & produced his albums. Plus, around HALF the songs they wrote for others were written with Robin & Mo, but Barry wrote or co-wrote every one plus co-produced those albums. So to sum it up, Barry was recognized for his singing, songwriting as well as producing very successful albums.🎼

Barry Gibb's full interview on CBS Mornings captured the most meaningful moment of his career, offering insights and reflections that resonated deeply.
I’m happy Barry acknowledged he got more attention than Robin and Mo. Maurice’s work was especially unappreciated and overshadowed by full orchestration. It should have been highlighted and celebrated. In a BBC interview Maurice stated he felt “unworthiness”. Today many are realizing his talent and that he was underrated. The truth always comes out doesn’t it, and we have the proof. Barry was a great and talented leader of the group and I am very 😊 glad he can look back with compassion toward his brothers. ❤ Bee Gees forever!
At least you’re not calling him selfish. He coudn’t avoid the attention he got, unless he hid his candle under a bushel, which would’ve robbed the world of so much. I’m glad he didn’t. I’ve always thought it had to be hard to be Robin and Mo because he was such a standout. Barry doesn’t notice how people react to him, even now, according to his son. He’s humble, and it’s never his focus. He just doesn’t see the attention. So I can see how he’d go through this whole time not understanding what they were saying, and how they felt. He had to get some distance from his brothers and the Bee Gees for him to see. He deserved all the praise and attention. It was impossible for him to avoid it, unless he hid himself, but it had to be hard on Robin and Mo. As he said, it’s over now, it really doesn’t matter now. Barry is extraordinary. It’s time for people to continue to sing his praises.
Barry looking just great. Many more years to come. Did not know he had a hearing issue tho. Heard he has a bit of arthritis in his fingers. Still so appreciated.
Thanks for posting this interview! I woke up early to watch the interview live. I thought it was great! I wish it was longer though. The interview would have been even better if it was a segment on 60 Minutes. It was sweet to see new footage of Barry Gibb! He still looks great! I can't wait to watch the Kennedy Center Honors next week! I hope I like the tribute performances. So far, I've been wishing for a better lineup for performances but I'm ok with the clips I've seen of the performances so far.
Thank you for your comment Kayla, I agree with you, it would have been great if it had been a longer interview, but with what we see we realize that Barry is still that humble and kind person. As for the KCH performances, there are some that I didn't like at all, I hope the whole concert has some good moments for Barry
Thrilled to catch the Barry Gibb interview - waking up early was worth it! A bit short, but sweet to see new footage. He looks fantastic! Anticipation for the Kennedy Center Honors is high, hoping for standout tribute performances despite some reservations about the lineup.
For anyone interested, there's an excellent article in The Washington Post Nov 27th about Barry. The journalist went to his home to interview him, & it's really well written.
Barry and his 3 other siblings ie 3 brother's Andy youngest and Maurice and Robin will forever be with Barry in his thoughts they may be at peace but still will forever be in Barry's thoughts .... Barry gibb your a true genius......
Barry, as you say, is a genius. The most beautiful thing is how he managed to stay sober in the face of money, fame and recognition, without a doubt I am sure that from heaven his brothers are proud of him
I am very sorry for the loss of your father, I hope that the music that reminds you of him manages to reach your heart and take you back to the beautiful memories you lived with him.
"I'd love it to have been 7".😄 Love his honesty, ambition, British accent. Truly an exemplary talent, family man, entertainer, rare, exemplary all-round human. What a blessing, may Barry Gibb be blest by Jesus, forever.
I love the interview! I always enjoyed their music. “How Deep Is Your Love” is a classic slow dance ballad from late ‘77 that still sounds great today! I’ve listened to their music for nearly 50 years and I never knew his brother Maurice’s name was pronounced “Morris” and not “Ma-Reece” 🤷♂️😂
Barry! Bless the other brothers, with exception of Andy, they couldn't hold a candle to that exterior. Jealousy, envy, are hard to overcome in the human heart. The twins were no exception. Barry, he is truly someone with wisdom, and now understands. The whole family was incredibly talented. Glad Barry is still with us!!!!
@@Zlata1313 True, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder! But still, the eyes of most are united in thinking Barry's exterior more pleasing than the twins. Don't believe me? The evidence is easy to find. I appreciate your love for them and defensiveness, but that doesn't change the fact that Barry and Andy were born with more symmetrical faces and beefier/better muscular make up than the twins.
Robin's voice was unique. Love ❤️ the BGs. They were entertaining in around Brisbane and Redcliffe when I was a kid. I wasn't a Beatles fan, but I loved the Gibb brothers.
I have been a huge fan of the beegees since 1977 i was 12 yrs old when i first heard the magical trio,i always had a crush on robin, but even the biggest fans of the beegees knew that they didnt get along because barry was so good looking he got so much attention and his ego wouldnt allow for him to see what that did to his brothers they felt that they were put in the background and it caused them to spend lots of yrs apart& not talking to each other The only times they actually did get along is when they were working on songs and recording. And that was sad. They lost that special brothers bond that brother's share.& its just a shame that they couldnt have worked it out so they were closer in life it wasnt just barry mo& robin didnt really try either its a shame now that the twins are gone but im glad barry found peace with that now we love you barry
So not true. It was not Barry's fault the good Lord made him so beautiful and talented. He did not have an ego. He was just loaded with self assurance and loads of self confidence. He was a hard worker and a perfectionist. Barry was also a fair minded and very compassionate man. The kind of leader every band needs He was almost perfect.🥰🥰🥰
I saw a picture of younger Barry without the beard. I was startled by how much Andy & Barry looked alike. I had such a crush on Andy when i was in junior high
Sheila....if you haven't seen the alternate version of How Deep is Your Love, then you're in for a treat....& a big surprise! It was shot the same time as Night Fever, and you'd swear it was Andy & not Barry!🥰
