Let's be brutally honest, Barry Gibb and The Bee Gees music are the No1 artist in 2021 all around the world.Their music is timeless and there is nothing better out there now. The music of The Bee Gees will last forever. The music is timeless.
I agree! Excellent interview! One thing I’ve never heard discussed is his relationship with his sister . She seemed disconnected from the brothers but that could be very untrue . What do I know ?
Barry Gibb is such a legend. Not just musically but such a strong and dignified man. I can't imagine the magnitude of the loss of his brothers, dealing with the ridiculous backlash against disco and having your music unfairly desecrated. Barry and the Bee Gees have left behind a musical legacy that will live on. What a gift. Love Barrys open attitude to music and change. Amazing human being ❤❤❤ really great interview too lovely vibe and rapport
Barry is so humble, almost shy about their success. Its probably because they can't feel the impact of their music on everyone over the 40 years. He can't know or feel the depth, impact of sharing their music,/passion on our lives. Some songs take me back to when I was 15 years old. The love, admiration, commitment, determination, they had with each other, 4 jigsaw pieces was that shone so bright. Barry still has it the hunger to create a country influence/sound with people he admires. His collaboration, creativity makes him tick. I'm looking forward to listening to greenfield. I love his honesty, openess, confidence. Thankyou to him and his brothers, parents, Roger, for making our lives tolerable, giving us happy times, to escape the hard times over those 40 years. Love to him and Robin, Maurice whom we're all unique. 💘
I love disco so much, starting with The Bee Gees! But I have learned to love country music too. I love that Barry is so versatile. He's so handsome still.
Yes that made the Bee Gees their ultimate legacy to successbecos of their humility. It is rather a virtue on the part of the Bee Gees .More power to Barry.

Wow! What a wonderful interview. Barry truly is a very great and very humble person. I have never heard any other artist be so forthright and so honest. It underlines the relevance of the Bee Gees legacy and such great music.
Barry Gibb was blessed with that "inner sense"....regarding songwriting......he just KNEW how to conjure up "ideas" into a reality......very RARE talent
I love Barry Gibb and everything Bee Gees. But this is one of the best interviews of late. He drew on so many interesting antidotes and memories from the Bee Gees history of writing. He is incredibly articulate, always has been. Like his music, he draws you in, almost hypnotic. There's no question in my mind as to why he's the second most successful songwriter in the history of music. All heart and pure genius. The Bee Gees created pure magic and there will never be another group like them.

you are right about that he is a wise man who learned by experience and he and his brothers our the smartest men I know about in the singing group of theirs
At that time I was just twenty three years old and I had so much fun, clean and happy days. Barry and his brothers were so much part of those beautiful days. Thank you for all the memories.
He did! It’s my favorite interview with Barry recently and maybe ever. I’m grateful for the wisdom he shares. Al Roker did a terrific job drawing this out of him.
@@giannafrancis5176 Al Roker went to my college and is kinda their spokesperson. I thought I saw him one day in a Starbucks; he was looking up expecting to be recognised however I just gave him his space. :) He seems like a really chill person. For some reason I did not realise he has been doing something other than weather. :)
I saw the bee gees three times in the 1970's here in New York. I met Barry and Robin in 1980 when Robin was recording and writing a album for Jimmy Ruffin at Kingdom Sound Studio on Long Island. They were so kind and warming. I miss those days. I will.always say and prove that they are the greatest song writers in the history of pop music, hands down.
Great interview what a respectable, caring, kind and humble man truly genuine no ego with him. And such a gentlemen in every way. No one did it better than the Bee Gees!
We Allways love you Barry Gibb and all your Family And Love ONCE. ..Very happy coz you Always See you in RU-vid .And Still Watching You Singing .Even l am still Watching the Old Song that TOGETHER with Your Brother .Even the Old, Song. ...👪👫💑☝☝☝☝💖💞💝👍👍👍👍👍 We Allways Pray And love you ...Barry Gibbs your the only the One and Number One in Our Heart 🙇 🙏 👼 ❤ ❤ 💖 💞 ☝ ☝ ☝ 👍 ✌ Fans 202I may... Great interview. I've been a BG fan since 1967. I love their music I love their sense of humor I love their versatility. I could listen to Barry talk all day. He has a nice smooth comforting sound to his voice both his singing voice and his speaking voice. He is a legend.
@@SamtheMan0508 I think it was 1967 when NY Mining Disaster of 41came out in the US, that song caught my attention. Later, much later, I became a Barry fan.

God bless Barry and the Gibb family. Your music and your kindness will never be forgotten and will be listened to by future generations of fans and new musicians and songwriters. Thank you Barry for this new album.
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. Mr. Al Roker took great care in the way he asked questions. I felt he was very sensitive to Mr. Barry Gibb’s feelings of his brothers and their passing. I am a huge fan of the Bee Gees. I feel a huge loss of Maurice and Robin and Andy. This is a very loving and beautiful family. Mr. Gibb’s parents created a masterpiece of talented individuals. I spent my weekend reconnecting with their music. The Bee Gees forever!!! I will always be a fan. Love them so much🥰🌹💕
So much wisdom & humility from this man. The more I’ve learned about their ‘journey’, the more I find how much I like them. Yes, their music is lovely but there is far more to them than that. It’s easy to forget the very human side. Such an extremely likable group who haven’t forgotten those that helped them, those who influenced them along the way. Am so very glad Barry & his brothers believed in themselves & ignored the naysayers. Quite a lesson for us all, actually. Wonderful interview.
And once more, he showcases that never ever was seeing himself as a star! Just a humble man and so familiar. Even like the neighbor next door. Always has been friendly to fans, what's often been told. But I'll tellya one thing, to me, he's a supa-dupa-star.
What an awesome interview. Barry is genuine & so honest! The BeeGees legacy for their fans was putting words of love & life in our hearts & making music magic! That was the beautiful harmony!! ❣I love the BeeGees!
I saw the Bee Gees in 1979 with Andy Gibb show up as special guest...One of the most amazing concerts I have seen....I am so happy to have seen this band as they are no longer..Barry was amazing then and still today...
And I'm kicking myself over not having seen them then. I had loved how can you mend a broken heart, but I didn't realize they had other similar music. I heard the Fever movie music in discos, but I probably heard too much of that group of songs so they weren't captivating. Even if I had only known they would sing how can you mend a broken heart I think I would have gone. My favorites are the late 60s, early 70s style songs. I'm finding I really had no idea how much good music they made.
the most frquent adjective concerning Barry in these comments is 'humble'. An uncommon attribute for a star like him. It applies to all the Gibb Bros actually. Robin: ' i don't think i have a special voice, i just like to sing' Maurice: ' i don't see ourselves as legends, we're just three Manchester guys having fun together'
What an awesome man, who, with his precious brothers, gave us timeless music. And this awesome man continues to show us that their music will live on forever in our hearts and deep in our souls. Well done, Sir Barry! Keep the legacy alive!

When the Bee Gees were together they always had that twinkle in their eyes, all of them. After Mo's death, it turned into despair in both Barry's and Robin's eyes. Now it's just Barry and you can still see the despair in his eyes. "You never get over the death of your loved ones." - Larry King
In amongst the grim realities that life dishes out, we have a Barry Gibb and a Bee Gee group lavish us with the gift of song that move us to continue on for another day. Thank you Barry Gibb. You are a blessing from God to these generations
When I hear "How deep is your love" I think about the work you put into relationships and into just day to day living and the love I have for Australia.
At this very moment of time, to me Barry is only one of the remaining REAL MUSICAL GODFATHERS still alive and kicking. The others are the four Stones and the two Beatles left. We still can enjoy their wonderful music with their physical presence. That's something to cheer and be happy about. May they all always stay well and healthy.
What a wonderful interview and discussion! The words that come to mind which are reflective of Barry are: genuine, honest, compassionate, humble, respectful and professional. The legacy of the BeeGees is love ..giving love and joy to all of us. And yes we give our love and deep appreciation to you, Barry and your sweet brothers.
This is an amazing interview. I have always loved the Bee Gee's. I agree with Barry, change is good. Change comes no matter what but we use it to keep moving forward. Your never too old. Don't be afraid to try. So happy for you Barry....Congratulations!
Great interview! I feel Barry wants to keep his brothers legacy alive and what better way to do it! They each have amazing, unique, God given talent! Their harmony was perfect! I’m grateful for all the stories! All the songs! All the hard work! God bless you Barry Gibb and R.I.P to your brothers Andy, Mo and Robin! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

@@cindyrector9718 me too I also looked to the Bee Gees as not just favorite singers but family as well as friends too I was little when the Bee Gees did the album One back in 1989 and from pictures and video's I have seen Barry Robin and Maurice were so cute even back then oh how fun it would have been to see a Bee Gees concert if I had been old enough back then
What can you say about The BeeGees? Timeless, phenomenal, GREAT etc...They will always be the best of the best no. 1 singers of all time! God bless Barry Gibb being without his brothers! He is truly a very humble person! God be with you Barry!

@@barrygibb3300 I was very touched by Barry Gibbs interview on the Today Show. I can’t even imagine losing my brothers like that, it has to be so hard for him. Both my parents have passed, that I get, but It so different when it is a sister or brother. I have both sisters and brothers. Losing any of them would tear my heart apart. I guess that is why I posted that reply. I feel for Barry Gibb, I lost both my parents and that sure tore a giant hole in my heart. But, that so different than losing a brother or sister. Especially as close as Barry and his brothers were to each other. I dearly hope he is doing alright. I will be praying for him and his family. Thank you so much for replying to my post.
Love the BeeGee Brother's . Amazingly talented family to be abel to write songs and harmonize was truly a gift from a higher power . My prayers always for you and your loved ones

Wonderful interviewer and interviewee. I listen to a lot of his interviews and this one taught me something new. I'm so introspect for the Bee gees and for Barry. What an amazing human being!
I agree with you! Al conducted a mutually respectful, delightful interview with great preparation and curiosity, and Barry continues to share so many gems with us, in his interviews and musical performances. I’m grateful to hear more from him in recent weeks. I feel like he has a rare wisdom.

I love you Barry! I have followed you and your brothers since 1970. Thank goodness for the internet and you tube. I would love to hear you sing with Vince Gill. You are not alone.
You are truly a great man and I know when you sing some of the old songs I see in your eyes how much you miss your brothers you are amazing and I hope you continue
I feel so grateful to have been alive during the time of the Bee Gees. I started out loving them when I first heard "New York Mining Disaster" when I was 15 years old. I'm now 71 years old, still loving the music and the Bee Gees, and listening to them nearly every day. God bless the Bee Gees!! Their beautiful music will love on forever...
You are the berries sir, you all had the most beautiful voices I've ever heard in my life, embrace it and know you all were blessed so much, it's humbling to know God blessed you all with all the amazing talent you all had❤ God bless you all
Handsome man; beautiful soul & spirit. I adore his attitude!💋 "Choose your dream"- I love what he said! I also adore the fact that what he says he puts into action; he keeps moving forward. Period. Great talent! 👍😉💘
Love how he says "rec-hord".....love it....so purely British......sets em apart,.....Barry,, knows how to explain the essence of his "Being'.....and his "parable".......his willingness to "change" and absorb the changing of the times......and find a sense of belonging......what makes him so OPEN to all the changes over the years....remarkable talent from birth
If you wanna see another beautiful live performance with Barry back in 2012 he was at the grand old Opry for the first time with Ricky Skaggs and a group of other musicians. Fantastic. You wanna watch it over and over again. Been drawn to Bluegrass, being from Kentucky I feel like I can say this… There’s huge route in Irish Scottish and English music which I’m certain resonates quite strongly with Barry today
What a great interview! Love The Bee Gees and loved their music as a teen and now as an “old” lady I am still discovering a lot of their music. Robin has some amazing songs out there. ❤️
The best interview I’ve ever seen & from an unlikely source . Al Roker (weather man) & probably the best person to do it. Barry is the coolest & most humble musician inspite of his great success & the success that he has made of other people & musicians. He did not have the perfect falsetto like the Delphonics, stylistics or blue magic . However he was smart enough to quickly incorporate that style of singing into great disco dancing music . A real genius
The Bee Gees awesome music will live on forever because there is heart and soul in every note and every lyric. I believe their song "I've Got to Get a Message to You" is one of (if not THE) best songs ever, in history. Robin's voice bores right into your very soul when he sings his part. Just thinking about that song gives me goosebumps.

I have a NEW appreciation for Bee Gees and especially Barry. Grease and Saturday Night Fever was popular in my very early teen days. I took the music for granted and I guess I know all the words to most of their songs just by osmosis. I heard them over and over growing up. NOW I wish I had paid more attention back then but at least we have Barry. I adore him. He’s such a wonderful father grandfather and oh wow… husband. I admire his family life. Very impressive. Love him so. 🙋🏻♀️☀️❣️
