Barstool Pizza Review - Moonlight Pizza (Pen Argyl, PA) 

Moonlight Pizza is about to have the busiest holiday season EVER. Well deserved too, they seem like humble people.

I know these owners personally and they are great people. It's the best pizza in the Lehigh Valley and even better people. They do it because of passion not money and you can taste it in their pizza. Congratulations to them for this great score.

That pizza looked next level no question. I’m glad he gave them a good score.

I’m from near Pen Argyl Pa. Trust me, this pizza review is a spark that could ignite a very financially depressed area. Back in the day, when coal and steel was booming in the Lehigh valley area, Pen Argyl was a busy hopping place to live. Ever since then, it’s been on steep decline. Glad to see Barstool not only put this Pizza joint on the map, but this little town.

Legend says : he is still saying "ITS THE GUY!!!!" walking down the street to this day

That's like a 70 mile trip north of Philly. Give DP a massive shout-out for literally going up into the PA outback, to shine a light on some of these great little mom & pop pizza places

My favorite type of review. A great small business in the middle of nowhere whose owners clearly give a damn about quality. Good to see it get rewarded and recognized by the Prez.

Moonlight is the best in Eastern PA. Every time I go I get perfection. Anthony and Nicole are the nicest people in the world and deserve what is coming. Anthony is a pizza artist and deserves this score. I'm so happy for them.

Moonlight Pizza does not spike the ball or dance in the end zone. They just score a touchdown and walk back calmly, ready to do it again. That crunch at 2:55 said it all.

That wall of trees that he pointed to is the start of the Pocono mountains. The Appalachian Trail runs right along the ridge of that mountain. You can walk down from the trail to this pizza place. What a great trail meal that would make.

I’m from Bangor, the town over from Pen Argyl. Never even knew this place existed for the last 4 years. Definitely checking it out next time I’m in town. I guess I’ll have to remember to reserve the dough ahead of time, though. It’s crazy such good pizza came out of here because it literally is the middle of nowhere. Hope this place is super successful. This area desperately needs good food.

Eastern PA pizza is so good. Been in the midwest for 10 years now and the pizza is one of the things I miss the most

Crazy I live 3 minutes from here, just missed the pizza review. All the locals know THIS is the spot for a GOOD quality pizza. There are a bunch of pizza places in here, but if you want something special you come to Moonlight.

Great review. Love it when the people seem honest and caring. Most (not all) small business families are genuinely appreciative of their customers. They work their ass off to barely make a living in today's world of corporate greed. Most of the time it is underappreciated. The behind the scenes work and toll it takes on personal and family life isn't recognized. Thinking they get rich is generally not true. Wealth is not money. Morals, pride, happiness, and family love is wealth. I enjoy that part of these reviews much more than the pizza.

I feel like at this point doing a sentiment analysis of Dave's reviews will give a more accurate scoring system than the actual numerical scores he gives out.

Growing up in PA, that crunch around the 2:58 mark is so rare in PA. Probably a 8.7 but Dave is going to give them so much business now.

It looked like Dave went to the town from the first Rambo movie n got himself a hidden treasure.

That place used to be my grandmother's apartment 20+ years ago long before it became Moonlight. I love watching his reviews I can't belive the odds of him doing one so close by in what used to be my grandmother's home.

Funny how these types of pizzas are not Daves favorite, but some of his highest scoring pizzas are ones with basil leaves on it.

Alright Dave. What more can we expect? This pizza looks AMAZING! Puffy, crunchy crust. No heavy flop. I mean, the basil is extra. But seriously, what could be improved? Might be time to wipe the slate and restart the scales!

The odds of seeing him actually doing a pizza review is off the charts low. Those people are extremely lucky.

Wow, didn't see that coming! The outer crust looked too thick and doughy to me to get into the eights, thought it would top out at 7.9, but good for them! And it didn't just eek out an 8, to get into the low mid's is an accomplishment.

PA Dutch / Welsh boy here (Pen Argyl is a Cornish name; Cornish is the cousin of Welsh) full of nostalgia for Pennsylvania watching these last couple, but especially this one. I used to be one of those kids! 😂

I'm glad Dave finally addressed his issue of scoring in the 8s. Cause once he put s a pizza in the 8s there is no consistency. There have been several times that I thought he was gonna give a pizza a mid or high 8 but he gives it an 8.2.

What a normal interaction with the owner. She's going to get a nice bump in sales. Moments like these remind me of that dragon pizza guy and how much of a moron he was.

I was in Norther NY (Ft. Drum), and my family lived in BumFnoWhere Coutersport PA and it was ALL THE SAME off the 81 😂🤷‍♂️🤘

Phenomenal looking pizza (except the needless basil.) I would eat that every time I wanted pizza. I guessed he'd go 8.3, but yeah it could be higher based on your own personal preference, but I can't see many rating below a high 7. Just a fantastic looking pie.

I have a friend who lives near there says that this place is great every time I go to visit. When im there to vist its always been closed or about to. The guy who owns it finishes for the day when he runs out of ingredients he has no set hours of operation you can't get any pizza. I've been trying to get pizza at this place for years. This guy goes to this remote place in PA and gets a pizza first try and the place gets awesome review go figure. Thats cool congrats Penn Argyl and Moonlight Pizza.
