If you’re not gonna give any flat numbers that cuts out 1/10th of the possible scores you could give a pizza. That’s what’s really rookie you should give it an 8.0, acknowledge that it’s got the decimal thus making it not a rookie score and move on, some pizzas are a solid 8 that’s just the way it is

Been there a bunch of times now when visiting my bro. That pie actually looks done a bit more than normal to me. Their slice is 8.4 all day. Super flavorful and perfect texture. Dave just didn't want to give two 8s in a row.

Wow. I’ve eaten at this place a dozen times and it’s easily an 8.5 or 9. The pizza is made with high quality ingredients and the crust is amazing as you can hear in this video. They also have one of the most amazing tomato pies. Man he couldn’t even say the name properly.

This is my second favorite pizza place in Philly, it's realistically 8.7... really different crust, almost like sourdough but the marriage of sauce/ cheese is tops in the city and does go toe to toe with any pizza I've had anywhere

Looked like an 8.4 pizza, perfect crisp, cooked to the perfect temp...

any Italian can see that it was fresh grated parm or pec on top. he commented "fresh mozz". don't know why that bothers me so much. take his reviews with a grain of salt, far from an expert on any Italian food.

If this were Boston it would have gotten 9.3

Can he explain why it's not in the 9s? I was expecting at least an 8.5 the way he was muching it down and praising it. Needs to be more consistent with the scores- or at least have a scale explanation versus just giving an arbitrary score because he likes the way it sounds.

That’s a Philly-style pizza right there, with the greasiness and fat crust. Never tried that place, but it looks like a good representation of what Philly pizza should look like

Gotta go back, this pizza is incredible. Just went there last week. Nobody has an under-crust like that in Philly.

I just finished eating at Grimaldis in AZ and after watching this I want pizza again. Happens everytime I watch Pres do his thing.

That’s one my favorite spots in the city. Good guys. It’s ShackamAXon. If you want some of the best Italian food in the city, head directly across the street to Murph’s.

Prez, next time you’re in Philly try Montesini’s in northeast Philly. It’s in the Mayfair mall on Frankford Avenue. Never disappoints.

That pie has the crisp, no flop and the grated parma grana on top. I know that slice is an 8.4 at least. My hometown West Chester Pizza has a pizzaiola madman who makes amazing pies with the grated on top similar to this place.

Before watching this... it’s by far my favorite pizza place in the country. I LOVE the pizza there!!!

With that pause, the way that pie looked and a crunch I heard from Wisconsin, I was thinking 8.5 or above. He really gypped them out of a higher score. 8.6 since they fucking opened for him in their pajamas. The other big factor is that Philly probably has more Italians today than NYC does, so it's going to fucking bring it when it comes to the pizza game. Every pizza place I've been in Philly has hit NYC levels of quality for pizza.
