Honestly that pizza looked like it would barely make the 5's.

I worked at Shakespeare’s from 2011-2013. It was a great place to work. The staff was probably 25 people and we all treated each other like family.

6.7 everyone knows its really a 4.2, that pizza looked like shit worse than Lebron's

As someone from missouri who eats Shakespeare’s a shit ton every year, it’s not as bad as it looks on camera. It’s actually a great pizza.

His generosity and the patience that he shows by allowing everyone to get a picture with him and an autograph isn't faked in my humble opinion. I have a good feeling that when the camera stops rolling, Dave doesn't change at all. I don't know him personally so yeah, I could be wrong.... But I don't think I am. Thank you Dave for everything you've done to help others, you're a great guy

6 years ago my son started at Mizzou working on his doctorate.We were with him for a couple of days helping him get settled in.We are from Houston and somewhere I had heard Shakespeare's had good pizza so we had one there. This past May we attended his graduation.Before we left Columbia for the last time we stopped and had a pizza there.The beginning and end of a journey.

I went to Mizzou. Reality: it's the most overrated pizza in town. It's so highly rated because of college town tradition and nostalgia. When you go to school there, it's the happening place that everyone meets up at. Everyone in Columbia thinks it should be highly rated because they honestly don't know any better. Check out the Shakespeare's page on Facebook, the comments saying it deserves at least a 7.4, or even an "8.2 all day" are comical. Lots of people have never even left the midwest, only venturing to nearby states. I'm sure the best pizza any of them have had was Chicago style. 6.7 is very generous for how average the pizza is. Their pizza is usually pretty bad. The crust on them is usually burnt on the bottom. The pizza is hard to chew, pretty much a chore to get through. The flavor of the dough is nothing special at all, very bland. I get why people like it, but I'd never enter it in a contest. Wise Guys pizza and Pizza Tree both make a better pizza in Columbia. At the very absolute best i'd give it a 6.1, otherwise it's usually around a 5.5 on a good day. It fills the hole when you want to get wasted and watch a home game. But don't let anyone convince you it's great pizza.

I went to Mizzou 1972-1976. I remember the original Shakespeare's Pizza. It was kind of a hole in the wall establishment then and we loved it!

I grew up there eating Shakespeare's since I was a kid. They once had the Bones Brigade set up the portable half pipe in their parking lot, which was epic. Good to see its thriving with all the new student high rise buildings all over downtown.

5.9 absolute max, 6's are pizza you still want to muck if drunk or in desperate need of pizza. "Free 5's" are pizza you'll accept if free but won't pay for it. "Family/Friend 4's" are pizza you'll only eat if your family or friends made it and you're just trying to be nice. 3's and below are basically inedible unless you're poor or hate yourself. 7's are the baseline and you'll enjoy it if it's nearby but won't make too much of an effort. 8's you go out of your way to eat them but mostly within your city or nearby cities and 9's you actually travel for, usually out of state/country. I mostly made this up on the spot.

I live in KC about an hour and a half away from Columbia/Shakespeare's. We make a trip to Columbia a few times a year for Shakespeare's. People assume because we drive 3 hours round trip for pizza that it is the best pizza. Not really but we love the atmosphere of the college town and the restaurant itself is pretty cool. They have built up a loyalty with former students that stays with them after they graduate and move back home from campus.

Being from Columbia, I can tell you that Shakespears is not that great. They are known for their fresh and overly portioned toppings they put on their pizza. Getting a cheese pizza at shakespeares doesn't do it justice. With that being said, 6.7 is way too high lol

Shakespeare's pizza isn't all that great. It's pretty good. What you're buying is the atmosphere, it's just a fantastic place to kick back and have a beer and a slice, talk to people, watch some sports on tv. Columbia is a pretty special city and places like Shakespeare's are a big part of that.

I went to Mizzou and maybe my taste buds were juvenile at the time but I always thought Shakespeares pizza was really good. Sure I’ve had better but I would put it in the high 7’s bc I liked the sauce and the flavors. The crust is pretty basic tho.
