Nah dude I've tried real Italian pizza on vacation in Italy and papa johns taste better than at least half of the Italian places I tried i would give pj a solid 7.5
Ok, real talk, this was 5 years ago and in a different country, but here in Ontario I ordered from PJ for the first time ever a few weeks back, and it was surprisingly pretty decent. 6.5 territory. The presentation was great with the little roasted peppers in the box, didn't particularly care for the melted garlic butter dip, but whatever. As to the pizza, I did find the crust a little tough and doughy, but it actually held in enough moisture to make for decent toaster oven leftovers(some pizzas just turn into dried out throwing weapons when you toast them). The toppings were good, sauce was decent. Not amazing, but the only major thing dragging it down IMO was that you really had to rip that crust with your teeth.

Pjs is so fucking good in the toaster over, they can't do well done worth a damn but crisp it up for like 5-6 min and chefs fucking kiss. Other than that its just okay regular ass pizza, not greasy like pizza hut and not whatever like doms. The garlic sauce will clog your heart but its damn good. 5.9
Dominos and lil cesars got nothing on papa Johns, BUT= the New York independent pizza chains are the Best. They make fast food pizza look like cardboard and ketchup, with dick cheese
Papa johns used to be the best Of all the chains, but recently have started to fall of. Dont know what exactly is going on their, but near the end of 2098 things took a turn for the worse.. The one minute delivery via drone is the only thing that is keeping them alive in my personal opinion. Though, the other chains are quickly beginning to catch up with that service. Pizza just doesnt taste as good anymore, and if you actually go in store those robots just give you the weirdest of vibes. I will say if you have the money to splurge you have to try "the orginal". Its very very expensive, but it is worth every satoshi! Made with fresh and real ingredients! Absolutely eveything! The vegetables are organicly grown, the cheese is 100% real made with real cows milk, the sauce is made with 100% real ingredients, same as with the dough, and the meat comes from real animals.

It sucks but follow what the box says. Cool down on the counter stick in the freezer. Follow reheat instructions. You got crispy crust even on a pan no sloppy mess. All toppings get a light crisp to it. Used to buy Pappa johns just to put it in the freeze. All that slime goes away, I guess a lot of people like snot pizza
Papa Johns tastes like all the ingredients are separated, and that's a bad thing. The flavors don't blend. If you have to use the garlic sauce to make it taste better, that means you're just covering up the shitty taste. It should be good on its own.
that pizza has a good shape but look at that non-existant cheese seal. yikes, that cheese needs to be sealing off the crust like flex tape bro. theres a whole inch of sauce there.
Too bad everything tastes off there now. The bbq used to be honey bbq now it's just generic trash. Doesn't taste the same as 10 years ago. Not even nostalgia can bring me back there
It's not bad by any means. It's better than most pizza places. But that's because most pizza places are peddling crap. There is a lot of pizza that puts it to shame though. Not that Dave here knows what good pizza is.
@Mario-ob8es That's fine. I'm not saying it's the absolute best. But to give a 4.4 or whatever he gave it is pathetic. At very worst it's a 7. I cant stand Portnoy's reviews. I think he's kind of an idiot if I'm being honest
Papa John's is definitely not 4.7 man! It's at least in the late 6's to early 7's. Especially the pepperoni one! Great, genuine pizzas that shit all over Domino's and Pizza Hut! Domino's is a 4.1, while Pizza Hut is a 4.5. Papa John's on the other hand, the pizzas are proper pizzas. Not no greasy mess like those other two haha!
Doesn’t suck, a single location probably makes more than a single location of papa johns, if you don’t branch out and expand you won’t make more money than m those who do
As a *_Pizza Connoisseur & Aficionado,_* I simply cannot fathom grading a "Cheese" Pizza. That's boring & very few people actually order Cheese-only pizzas. ...I understand that he wants to have a "level playing field", but in my experience, every Pizzeria has Pepperoni & Sausage: Albeit, different. ...Which is why he should be grading a Half-Sausage, Half-Pepperoni Pizza... so that we can be informed about the quality of their Meats as well.
@@adamspiece6956 Thank you for making my point. New York pizza is glorified frozen pizza. Want to know how I know that? I live where every ingredient on a pizza is either raised or grown within 5 minutes of my house. 60 percent of the ingredients on ANY New York pizza is, at one point, frozen. Want to try real pizza? Visit middle America. A small farm town in the middle of nowhere. Sounds crazy but it will be he freshest pizza you will ever eat. New Yorkers are missing out. I've been there, tried their pizza expecting a lot and it was a massive let down.

@@adamspiece6956 When I gave Papa Johns a 7.2, I was ranking their pizza on a New York level. Papa Johns is good but not great. It's the equivalent of what Daves scale is based on. I love Dave. He is AWESOME!! But, considering where he was raised and the pizza he scores holds absolutely zero bearing. If he came to Nebraska and tried a pizza, he would be blown away. As much as I love Dave, he is not the end all be all to pizza ratings until he expands his horizons.
