Bartók: Pianokwintet in C - Janine Jansen & Friends - IKFU 2015 - Live Concert HD 

Each time I come back listening to this *majestic* performance, l'm grateful to Mrs Jansen for her so charming smile...

Brava and bravo! I've had a deep love of Bartok's music since age 14 (65 years ago), but I'm astonished by this music, which came to my attention only within the last year. This is gorgeous, brilliant, fun, lively even mercurial, but, sofar as I can tell, very soundly constructed. I've always loved the boldness and daring of his music, its energy and mysteriousness, and its rhythmic complexity, dissonance, and acerbity, all of which he handled with flawless constructive genius--never a note out of place. But here is proof the young Bartok could write late-romantic music with the best of them! (Several years ago I heard an even earlier Symphony in E[?], which didn't impress me, and I don't much like his Violin Concerto no. 1. But in his String Quartet no. 1 [all six of them were among the very first of his works I heard and loved], composed 4-5 years after this work I believe, he has already passed over into modernism, of which he is one of the greatest exponents.) Thank you for posting this.

Jenine the violinist appears to be working quite hard at some passages. I don't see anyone else put up offsets to the movements so... 00:00 I. Andante (Though it does get kinda lively as it progresses) 11:56 II. Vivace (Scherzando) OK, I dare you to get a handle on the meter of this obvious practical joke on the listener. Without seeing the score, of course! :-) 20:37 III. Adagio 32:03 IV. Poco a poco piu vivace. Hard to really tell; it is contiguous with the Adagio and starts rather gently. Then picks up something fierce. 40:07: Applause. Well earned!

Thank You so much for presenting this great music showing the big changes at the beginning of 20th century! A lovely mix of old and new at the time. The former Bártók always is present in his rhethms and in his unique was to wright "nightmusics"! Janine Jansen with her friends are great!

superbe interprétation ! j'adore cette violoniste ... dont le visage est aussi expressif que ses doigts ! une mention particulière pour la tourneuse de page qui comme les musiciens a due rester pleinement concentrée sur le rythme trépident de cette partition en plus d'avoir a se lever régulièrement toutes les 30 secondes ..... elle doit avoir de jolis mollets !

Une *magnifique* interprétation par ces merveilleux artistes, de ce beau et fort difficile quintette à clavier ! Trois quarts d'heure fascinants et suscitant un enthousiasme grandement mérité. BRAVI ! La (très charmante) jeune femme qui tourne les pages pour le pianiste aurait, elle aussi, pu venir saluer : fameux travail de se lever, et de s'assoir, sans arrêt, tellement le tempo est 'endiablé' !
